Wed Jun 25 201423:37Haren lasts just 4 1/3 innings against Royals
Dan Haren lasted only 4 1/3 innings against the Royals on Wednesday, giving up four runs in a no-decision.
Going deep into games hasn't really been his calling card in recent years, but Wednesday's start was still the shortest of the season for Haren. The right-hander gave up five hits, including two home runs, and walked two, exiting with two runners on and one out in the fifth inning. Haren owns a 3.83 ERA heading into another interleague tilt, this time with the Indians, on Monday.

Sun Jun 15 201401:01Dan Haren knocks in three in victory
Dan Haren picked up his seventh win after allowing three runs in 6 1/3 innings Saturday against the Diamondbacks.
The game was tied at 3 in the fourth when Haren delivered a bases-loaded double, plating all three baserunners and giving himself all of the additional support he'd need. Haren has made four of his 14 starts this year against the Diamondbacks and gone 3-1 with a 4.26 ERA. He's 7-4 with a 3.54 ERA overall.

Wed Jun 4 201401:20Haren gives up 2 homers to White Sox in loss
Dan Haren lost his third straight start, falling to 5-4, after allowing four runs over six innings in Tuesday's loss to the White Sox.
The 33-year-old struck out two, gave up six hits and walked one. Haren enjoyed a spectacular first six weeks to his Dodgers' career, but opposing hitters have been squaring up his high-80s fastball in recent outings; he served up two balls that ended up over the fences tonight. Haren is 0-3 in his last four starts, a period that has seen his ERA jump from 2.84 to 3.50. It's not necessarily time to jump ship in mixed leagues, but the veteran should perhaps be shielded in bad matchups until he shows more consistency. Haren will look to get back on track next week in Cincinnati against a Reds team that has won four straight.

Fri May 30 201401:17Haren holds Pirates to three runs in ND
Dan Haren surrendered three earned runs over six innings in Thursday's no-decision loss to the Pirates.
The veteran right-hander coughed up eight hits but didn't walk a batter. Haren has posted quality starts in seven of his last eight outings. He's not blowing anybody away, but Haren doesn't make many mistakes and has walked only 11 hitters all year. Coming off a 4.67 ERA with the Nationals last season, Haren is 5-3 with a 3.28 ERA and 1.25 WHIP. He squares off with the White Sox in Los Angeles next time around.

Dan Haren yielded five runs -- two earned -- in six innings Saturday as the Dodgers fell to the Phillies.
It was a sloppy afternoon for Los Angeles and Haren wound up falling to 5-3 on the year. Haren will look to get back into the win column next week when he faces the Pirates at home.

Tue May 13 201402:03SP Haren stops Marlins, improves to 5-1
Dan Haren allowed three earned runs in seven innings Monday to pick up a win over the Marlins.
Haren admitted after his last start that he pitched through back stiffness, and a slow start (Miami led 3-1 after three innings) tonight quickened the pulses of Southern Californians. Haren soothed them, settling in and cruising from the fourth on. He improves to 5-1 with a 2.84 ERA and 1.18 WHIP. Haren will get the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

Thu May 8 201422:55Dan Haren pitched through back stiffness
Dan Haren admitted that he pitched through back stiffness during Wednesday's start versus the Nationals.
Haren struggled early on in the outing before ultimately settling in. It doesn't appear at this point that he's in danger of missing his next start, but the Dodgers should provide an update on the right-hander's status over the weekend.

Wed May 7 201417:52Haren allows three runs, takes first loss
Dan Haren surrendered three earned runs over six innings Wednesday in a loss to the Nationals.
Haren was staked to a 2-0 lead after the top of the first inning but gave it right back in the bottom of that frame, allowing a two-run single to Adam LaRoche. Haren soon settled in, but the Los Angeles offense didn't manage another run the rest of the day. Haren is now 4-1 with a 2.68 ERA on the season. He will face the Marlins at Dodger Stadium next time out.

Thu May 1 201416:41Dan Haren allows four runs in win
Dan Haren allowed four runs -- three earned -- in 6 2/3 innings Thursday to pick up a win over the Twins.
That's the nice thing about facing the Twins... even if you give up four runs, you still have a good chance of notching the victory. Haren is 4-0 despite having allowed 17 runs (10 earned) in 37 2/3 innings. He'll face his previous team, the Nationals, next time out on Tuesday.

Fri Apr 25 201401:47Haren logs another quality start on Thursday
Dan Haren surrendered three runs -- one earned -- on seven hits and two walks over six innings in a no-decision Thursday against the Phillies.
The 33-year-old struck out seven in continuing his strong opening month. Haren has collected quality starts in four of his first five outings for the Dodgers. Los Angeles, which made a reasonable $13 million bet on Haren this winter, is 5-0 in those starts. The veteran Haren, now 3-0 with a 2.03 ERA, should conclude an eye-opening April on a positive note Wednesday in Target Field against the Twins.

Sat Apr 19 201423:21Dan Haren earns third victory
Dan Haren moved to 3-0 after allowing five runs -- two earned -- in 7 1/3 innings against the Diamondbacks on Saturday.
Haren gave up three unearned runs (four total) after a Hanley Ramirez error in the third. The last run came after Brian Wilson replaced him with a man on first and one out in the eighth; he subsequently gave up a two-run double before escaping the inning. Haren didn't look too good towards the end of the spring, but he has a 2.08 ERA and a 20/2 K/BB ratio in 25 innings now. That he's faced the Padres and the reeling Diamondbacks twice has certainly helped.

Sun Apr 13 201420:53Haren allows nine hits but earns win Sunday
Dan Haren allowed three runs on nine hits over 5 2/3 innings but earned his second win against the Diamondbacks on Sunday.
Haren limited the damage despite the baserunners, inducing one double play and striking out five in the outing. He's now 2-0 with a 2.04 ERA and 1.02 WHIP with the Dodgers. He'll have a shot to repeat Sunday's outcome when the two teams meet up again next weekend.

Wed Apr 9 201401:41Haren spins 6 quality frames in no-decision
Dan Haren posted his second quality start in two opportunities as a Dodger on Tuesday against the Tigers, allowing just one run on three hits over six innings of a no-decision.
He struck out four and walked one. Outside of a second inning Austin Jackson solo homer, Detroit didn't have any answers for the offseason import. Ned Colletti and company have to be feeling pretty good about their eminently reasonable $13 million investment in the right-hander after watching him allow just one earned run over his first 12 innings with the club. The Tigers aren't an easy assignment, and neither is Haren's next one in Arizona on Sunday.

Thu Apr 3 201401:28Haren spins 6 shutout frames in Dodgers debut
Dan Haren was highly impressive in his Dodgers' debut on Wednesday against the Padres, giving up just one run -- zero earned -- over six innings of a 5-1 victory.
He struck out six, didn't walk a batter, and scattered four hits. The box score could have remained unblemished were it not for A.J. Ellis' interference granting Seth Smith first base in the fourth. That pushed Everth Cabrera to second, and the speedster scored on a Yonder Alonso single two batters later. At least Haren's earned run average was no worse for the wear, a good sign after it bloated to 4.67 with the Nationals last season. Los Angeles signed Haren with full knowledge that he logged a 3.29 ERA in 15 starts and one relief spot after returning from shoulder inflammation in 2013, and he's a decent bet to give a return on that $13 million investment assuming at least adequate health. Haren and his new club will play host to Max Scherzer and the Tigers on Tuesday evening.

Sun Mar 30 201400:00Haren hit hard in final exhibition start Sat.
Dan Haren allowed six runs over two innings of work in his final start of the spring Saturday.
Haren was only scheduled to go the two innings in preparation for his first regular season start next week, but the Angels did their best to chase him anyway. Haren gave up home runs to Mike Trout and Kole Calhoun among his six hits allowed. Despite the bad night, the right-hander is solidly entrenched in the Dodgers' starting rotation, especially in the wake of Clayton Kershaw landing on the disabled list.

Sat Mar 15 201414:00Dan Haren won't travel with team to Australia
Dan Haren won't travel with the Dodgers for their opening series against the Diamondbacks in Australia.
Haren wasn't going to pitch in either of the games anyways and will be on the exempt list. That makes Paul Maholm the team's emergency starter if necessary.

Tue Mar 11 201417:29Haren has a solid outing against the Royals
Dan Haren was solid in Tuesday's start against the Royals, giving up just one run in four innings.
Haren allowed seven hits and a walk, so he was in a bit of trouble at times but was able to work his way out of it. The right-hander also struck out two. He has looked sharp in Cactus League play. After posting a 4.67 ERA with the Nationals last season, he is hoping his spring success translates to a bounce back during the regular season.

Sat Mar 1 201418:37Dan Haren goes two innings in Dodgers debut
Dan Haren allowed one run over two innings against the Brewers on Saturday.
Haren gave up three hits and a walk, failing to record a strikeout. The right-hander joined the Dodgers this offseason on a one-year, $10 million deal. With Zack Greinke ailing, Haren is in the mix to start one of the team's two games in the season-opening series against the Diamondbacks in Australia.

Mon Nov 25 201320:01Colletti: Dodgers could add another starter
Dodgers GM Ned Colletti said he is open to the idea of adding another starting pitcher.
Los Angeles officially signed Dan Haren to a one-year, $10 million contract on Monday, seemingly completing their five-man rotation (Clayton Kershaw, Zack Greinke, Hyun-Jin Ryu and Josh Beckett). Beckett underwent season-ending surgery in mid-July on his right shoulder but is expected to be ready to go next spring.
