Wed Feb 22 2012 | 09:54 | Nats' Moore to play outfield during spring |
Nationals' prospect Tyler Moore will play some outfield this spring. |
Moore has exclusively played first base in the minor leagues, but the Nationals want to test his versatility. The 25-year-old has slugged 62 homers over the past two seasons between High-A Potomac and Double-A Harrisburg and was recently ranked as the Nationals' No. 16 prospect by Baseball America. |

Fri Nov 18 2011 | 20:53 | Nats add 1B Moore to 40-man roster |
Nationals purchased the contract of 1B Tyler Moore from Double-A Harrisburg. |
The move protects him from December's Rule 5 Draft. Moore, 24, clubbed 31 homers this season with Double-A Harrisburg, equaling his total from 2010 with High-A Potomac in the Carolina League. The righty-hitting slugger will likely begin next season at the Triple-A level. |
