Manny Banuelos walked three and struck out two over 2 2/3 scoreless innings against the Red Sox on Monday night.

Banuelos was a little shaky, but managed to wiggle his way out of a bases-loaded jam with one out in the second inning. The impressive 20-year-old left-hander doesn't have a shot to make the team out of spring training, but he could make his major league debut later in the year.

Yankees GM Brian Cashman said neither Manny Banuelos nor Dellin Betances are candidates for a spot in the rotation and will instead open the season at Double-A.

"Betances and Banuelos aren't earning spots in the rotation out of spring training," Cashman said. "They're going to get their first taste of big-league camp, then they're going to get slotted into Trenton. They have no chance to make this team." The team's top two pitching prospects, Betances will turn 23 next month while Banuelos will turn 20. Both have significant upside, but they won't be rushed even though the Yankees have openings at the back end of their rotation.
