McCoy had 24 carries for 81 yards and caught four passes on four targets for five yards in Sunday's 34-28 win against St. Louis. He also lost a fumble at one point.
McCoy seemed to be pressing on his fumble, trying to make a spectacular play out of nothing, ultimately putting the ball on the ground. There has been speculation that McCoy might be playing with an injury, but he got nearly 30 touches Sunday. As long as he's getting volume, the big plays should come, although he's still searching for his first 100-yard rushing game of the season.
Tue Sep 30 201409:59Eagles head coach Chip Kelly said that McCoy healthy
Eagles head coach Chip Kelly said that McCoy is healthy, and not currently on the list to receive treatment for an injury, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. "He's healthy," Kelly said. "He's not on the treatment list. He does normal maintenance like everybody else, but he hasn't had any injuries where we've done anything with him."
McCoy's struggles this season (2.7 YPC) have led to speculation that he's been attempting to play through an injury. Kelly's assertion that his starting running back is healthy is certainly good news, as is the return of tackle Lane Johnson in Week 5 following a four-game suspension to begin the season.

McCoy rushed just 10 times for 17 yards and caught zero passes in Sunday's 26-21 loss at San Francisco.
McCoy did very little for the second straight week, although in this case, Philadelphia didn't have the ball much, possessing it for just 18 minutes. Furthermore, Nick Foles was erratic, completing just 21-of-43 passes for 195 yards. Still, it's surprising that McCoy wasn't involved more, especially as a pass catcher (he wasn't even targeted). The explosive veteran should see more running lanes next week, taking on the Rams at home.

McCoy finished Sunday's game against Washington with 22 rushing yards on 19 carries while failing to catch the two passes thrown to him.
McCoy took a direct hit to the head in the first quarter but was cleared of a concussion rather quickly. Unfortunately, he was unable to do much with his touches and his complete lack of production in the passing game didn't help matters. Despite the struggles, Darren Sproles only finished with two carries, so it's not like McCoy's poor play resulted in fewer touches. He may have a tough time bouncing back in Week 4, as the Eagles will travel to face a 49ers team that is ranked seventh against the run this season.
Sun Sep 21 201414:03LeSean McCoy: (Head) Cleared To Return
McCoy (head) was cleared to return to Sunday's game against Washington after departing earlier in the contest, NFL Network's Judy Battista reports.
After taking a hit to the head from cornerback David Amerson late in the first quarter, McCoy was immediately sent to the sideline for a concussion test, but apparently showed no concerning symptoms. Though he missed a chunk of time due to the head injury, he'll still have nearly two and a half quarters to deliver strong numbers to his fantasy owners.
Sun Sep 21 201413:47LeSean McCoy: Evaluated For Concussion Sunday
McCoy left Sunday's game against Washington after taking a direct blow to the head from cornerback David Amerson, Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
McCoy walked off the field under his own power, but the team's training staff immediately took his helmet away from him, according to Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News. He'll be evaluated for a concussion and should be considered questionable to return to the contest.

McCoy had 20 carries for 79 yards and a touchdown, adding four receptions for 23 yards on five targets, in Monday's 30-27 win over the Colts.
Though fellow running back Darren Sproles was the star of the game, McCoy had 20 carries for a second straight week, and was once again active in the passing game. Keep in mind that the Eagles spent most of their first two games trailing, yet still managed to get McCoy 41 total carries. Sproles, meanwhile, is establishing his own fantasy value without cutting into McCoy's.

McCoy had 21 carries for 74 rushing yards and six catches on six targets for 41 receiving yards Sunday against the Jaguars.
The Eagles fell behind 17-0, but still ended up running the ball a fair amount, with Darren Sproles adding 11 carries to McCoy's 21. While McCoy got most of the work, Sproles rattled off a 49-yard touchdown in the third quarter to start the Eagles' comeback. McCoy remains a heavily used running back and while he didn't break the 100-yard rushing mark, he still managed to get over 100 total yards and his first touchdown isn't likely far off.

McCoy (thumb/toe) isn't listed on the Eagles' injury report Wednesday.
McCoy emerged from the final two preseason contests with turf toe and a sore right thumb, but the ailments didn't hinder his ability to take part in drills Wednesday. His opponent Sunday, the Jaguars, is a friendly one, as they allowed 131.8 yards per game last year, good for fourth-most in the league.
Sat Aug 23 201413:16McCoy (thumb/toe) present for practice Saturday
McCoy (thumb/toe) was present for practice Saturday, the Star-Ledger reports.
McCoy, who had previously been dealing with a toe issue, left Thursday's preseason game with a thumb injury, but his presence at practice Saturday supports the notion that neither ailment is particularly serious. We'll let you know if that assessment changes.

While McCoy acknowledged that his right thumb was sore following Thursday's game against the Steelers, the running back suggested that he will "be all right," csnphilly.com reports.
X-rays on McCoy's thumb Thursday came back negative and prior to sustaining the injury, he carried four times for 24 yards, while adding two catches for 26 yards, with a TD. More importantly, the report suggests that he didn't seem hampered by the toe issue that kept him out of practice this past Sunday. We'll track McCoy's status in the coming days, though in the team's fourth preseason game, next Thursday against the Jets, look for him to sit in any case, along with some of the Eagles' other key players.
Thu Aug 21 201420:49LeSean McCoy: X-Rays Come Back Negative
Updating a previous report, X-rays on McCoy's right thumb came back negative, and he has been diagnosed with a sprained right thumb, Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
McCoy won't return to Thursday night's game as a precaution, but he looks to have avoided any serious injuries. It wouldn't be surprising to see him sit the final preseason game as well, but his Week 1 availability currently doesn't appear to be in question.
Thu Aug 21 201420:12LeSean McCoy: Getting X-Rays On Right Thumb
McCoy underwent an X-ray on his right thumb, and his return to Thursday's game is currently unknown, Geoff Mosher of CSN Philadelphia reports.
McCoy had already recorded one touchdown on a Nick Foles screen pass, and carried the ball four times for 24 yards prior to exiting. Not much is know regarding his status at this point, but the team will likely update his condition following the game.

McCoy (toe) is not among the players expected to sit out Thursday's game against the Steelers, the Eagles' official site reports.
It remains to be seen how much action McCoy -- who has been dealing with a toe injury that coach Chip Kelly has downplayed -- is in line to see Thursday, though the running back did indicate Monday that he feels as though could use some game reps at this stage of the preseason.

Coach Chip Kelly has downplayed the left toe injury that kept McCoy out of practice Sunday, ESPN.com reports.
McCoy's quick return to the practice field supports the notion that the running back's toe ailment -- described by McCoy as "a small version of turf toe," is not viewed as a major issue. For his part, when asked about McCoy's status on Tuesday, Kelly replied, "he practiced full yesterday. He's fine. It's not as big an issue as anybody's made it out to be." That said, it remains to be seen if McCoy will see much, if any, action in Thursday's preseason game against the Steelers, though the running does seem anxious to suit up for that contest, noting Monday, "I need the reps."

McCoy, who returned to the field Monday, missed practice Sunday with what he referred to as "a small version of turf toe," csnphilly.com reports. "[Sunday] it was really, really hurting pretty bad," McCoy noted. "It felt a little better [Monday], so I went for it."
The report notes that McCoy injured the big toe on his left foot during last week's joint practices with the Patriots. Moreover, the running back added that he had an MRI and X-rays on the toe, and that the injury isn't "severe or serious." At this stage, McCoy plans to play Thursday against the Steelers, suggesting that he won't need many reps in the Eagles' key preseason tune-up. While this sounds like an issue that the running back can play through, the obvious hope is that McCoy avoids the sort of setback that could turn this into something that nags him once the regular season gets going.
Mon Aug 18 201413:31McCoy returned to field Monday
McCoy, who missed Sunday's practice for an unspecified reason, returned to the field Monday, csnphilly.com reports.
When asked why McCoy didn't practice on Sunday, offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur didn't provide much in the way of details, noting that the issue that kept the running back out was "nothing serious to (his) knowledge. Every once in a while, guys miss practice." In any case, there's evidently nothing in play here that would impact McCoy's fantasy value as the season approaches.
Sun Aug 17 201418:17McCoy (unspecified reason) did not practice Sunday
McCoy (unspecified reason) did not practice Sunday, ESPN.com reports.
McCoy wasn't mentioned when coach Chip Kelly discussed the Eagles' injured players prior to Sunday's practice, so it's possible that the running back is getting a maintenance day. McCoy recorded 19 rushing yards on six carries, while appearing in three series, during Friday's preseason game against the Patriots.

McCoy gained eight yards on one reception and was stuffed for no gain on his only carry in Friday's preseason opener against the Bears.
McCoy made a token appearance, and then gave way to Darren Sproles, who also didn't stay in the game for long. "Shady" should once again benefit from good coaching, an up-tempo offense and a strong line, but his involvement in the passing game is headed in the wrong direction. His 52 receptions last season, while an impressive number for most running backs, were actually two fewer than he had in just 12 games the previous year. With Sproles now in town, McCoy is unlikely to notice a bounce back in targets or receptions, and a decrease may even be coming. He's also unlikely to match last season's 10.4 yards per catch, though if any running back could hit that mark in consecutive seasons, it would be McCoy (or Jamaal Charles). Of course, this is all kind of nitpicking, as McCoy is an incredibly talented runner with excellent team context who handles most of the goal-line work and is more than capable as a receiver.
