Revere will be in the lineup Sunday against the Nationals, Jim Salisbury of CSN Philadelphia reports.

Revere had been left on the bench for the Phillies' previous three games, largely due to his painfully slow start of the season. However, Revere's pinch-hit double and stolen base Saturday may have convinced manager Ryne Sandberg to give the outfielder another crack in the starting lineup. He'll be slotted in the eighth spot in the order Sunday and will have to earn his way back to teh leadoff role, but Revere nonetheless seems like a safer bet than the strikeout-prone Darin Ruf to emerge as the Phillies' primary left fielder.

Revere entered Saturday's game as a pinch runner and finished 1-for-1 with two runs scored.

Revere was out of the starting lineup for the third straight game Saturday. Manager Ryne Sandberg has been giving Darin Ruf a look in left over those three games. Sandberg has not indicated that the change is permanent. It is likely a product of Revere's slow start to the season. He is hitting .158 (6-for-38) thus far with a walk, six strikeouts and three stolen bases.

Revere is out of the lineup Thursday, CSN Philadelphia's Jim Salisbury reports.

Revere is hitting just .139 but has still already managed two steals on the season. Still, the Phillies will opt to give him a day off Thursday with the hopes that his bat can get going this weekend.

Revere is expected to begin the season as the Phillies' left fielder, Stephen Gross of The Morning Call reports.

Revere's lack of arm strength likely played part in the move, along with Odubel Herrera's impressive camp. The move will likely bump Grady Sizemore out of the everyday lineup, though Revere could still see some time in center field as well.

Revere will see some time in left field over the final two weeks of camp, the Phillies' official site reports.

Revere got his first start in left on Saturday with Odubel Herrera starting in center. It is an alignment that could carry over into the regular season. A shift to left for Revere also increases the chances that he could sit more frequently as the Phillies will likely also give Grady Sizemore and Darin Ruf starts in left as well this season.

Revere said he is not concerned by his slow start at the plate this spring, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. "It's going to be fine," Revere said. "I still have two more weeks of it. I'm just getting back into the rhythm of things. I want to go into the last week of spring feeling good and then start the season on a high note."

Revere has just four hits in his 33 at-bats this spring and is hitless in his last 10 at-bats. He got off to a slow start last season, but hit .321 over the final three months of the season to finish with a .306 average. He will open the year as the Phillies' starting center fielder and leadoff hitter.

Revere said his ankle feels great this spring now that the screws that were in his foot all of last season have been removed, CSN Philly reports.

Revere said his goal this season is to get more than 50 stolen bases. He finished with 49 last season despite playing through pain in his ankle and leg. He will open the season as the Phillies' starting centerfielder and leadoff hitter.

Revere said he is able to do his typical offseason workout routine now that he no longer has screws in his right ankle, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. "I can do everything. I can do power lifting. I couldn't even squat last year. I'm squatting 400 pounds now. Last year, my hamstring [shut] down, my quads were weak. Now, I'm getting all my strength back."

Revere played through pain for half of last season as the screws that were in his ankle from a 2013 surgery were pressing on his nerves. They were removed early in the offseason. The 26-year-old is set to open next season as the Phillies' starting center fielder.

Revere (ankle) agreed to a one-year, $4.1 million contract with the Phillies on Friday, avoiding arbitration, Jim Salisbury of CSNPhilly.com reports.

Revere's walk rate fell to an abysmal 2.1% last season, but he was able to maintain a batting average above .300 thanks to his exceptional contact skills (92.4% contact rate last season) and elite speed. The 26-year-old finished third in the NL in stolen bases with 49 and his playing time should be fairly secure heading into 2015, assuming his ankle is close to 100 percent. He said in December that he had experienced no pain during offseason workouts.

Revere said he feels no pain in his ankle during offseason workouts, the Phillies' official site reports. "I've been running and cutting. No pain. I feel good," Revere said.

Revere had a procedure after the season to remove screws that were placed into his ankle during surgery in July 2013. He played through pain all of last season, but still managed to swipe 49 bags.

The Phillies tendered a contract to Revere (ankle) on Tuesday, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Revere will get a raise from the $1.95 million he made last year. He is a candidate to be traded this winter as the Phillies are entering a rebuilding phase.

Revere (ankle) underwent surgery and will be in a walking boot for two weeks, MLB.com's Todd Zolecki reports.

Revere is expected to be fully healthy by spring training, so this surgery shouldn't worry even with his dependence on his ankle as a speed-based player. Revere had an average season by his standards, hitting .306 with no plate discipline or power to speak of. Given the Phillies' lack of minor league depth, they'll be hard pressed to find a stronger bat to replace Revere in the near future.

Revere will undergo surgery in October to remove two screws from his right ankle, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Revere has the screws in his ankle from a broken foot he suffered last season. He played through some pain this year which will be alleviated when the screws are removed. Revere hit .306/.325/.361 with two home runs and 49 stolen bases in 601 at-bats this season.

Manager Ryne Sandberg wants to see Revere increase the amount of doubles he hits, the Phillies' official site reports. "I actually think that he has the ability to hit 30 to 35 to 40 doubles with the way that he makes contact," Sandberg said.

Revere has hit 13 doubles this season which has tied his career-high. Sandberg said Revere has shown gap power in batting practice, but his in-game approach is to hit the ball on the ground or up the middle and use his speed. The Phillies would like to see a little more offense from their center field position which puts Revere's starting job in jeopardy next season if the team adds a more potent bat that can play center.

Revere went 3-for-5 with an RBI and his 47th steal Thursday against the Padres.

One of the game's most underrated speedsters entering the year, Revere has done a more-than-passable impression of Juan Pierre in his prime.

Revere is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Padres, CSN Philadelphia's Jim Salisbury reports.

It will be a rare night off for the Phillies' starting center fielder, as Tony Gwynn, Jr. will get the start in his hometown -- the first action he'll see in San Diego since 2012.

Revere went 2-for-5 with a run scored and two stolen bases in Sunday's loss to the Marlins.

Revere is third in the National League with 45 stolen bases this season. He has hit .309/.327/.367 with two home runs and 68 runs scored.

Revere hasn't had a day off since July 26, so the timing was right Sunday with lefty Gio Gonzalez on the hill for the Nationals. Although Revere is batting an impressive .355 against southpaws this season, Tony Gwynn Jr. will take over in center field.

Revere put on a show Friday night going 3-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and a stolen base in Philadelphia's come-from-behind win over the Nationals.

Revere is having quite a month this week having plated five RBI on Monday and three more in this one. Now with 23 RBI, he launched his 2nd home run, a solo shot, with two outs in the ninth to send the game into extra innings, and he added his 43rd steal, the stat he is counted on to produce by his fantasy owners.

Revere had a monster day Monday, going 2-for-3 with five RBI against the Braves.

Revere's five RBI accumulated Monday is good for a full quarter of the runs he has plated this season. The center fielder is enjoying a tremendous season in Philadelphia, hitting .310 with 40 stolen bases and 60 runs scored with a month left to play.
