Fri Jan 16 201509:25Deron Williams: (Ribs) Will Miss Next Two Games
Williams (ribs) will miss the next two games as he continues to deal with pain, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN reports.
This news doesn't come as much of a surprise since Williams has only played four minutes over the past six games as he continues to deal with that fractured rib. The 30-year-old is rehabbing, however, and admits that the situation is improving despite his continued absence from the court.

Williams (ribs) will be re-evaluated Wednesday and has not started physical activity, Tim Bontemps of the New York Post reports.
Williams will miss both games this weekend and it seems unlikely he'll play on the team's three-game Western Conference road swing next week, which begins Wednesday and runs through Saturday. It's important to note that Williams has not officially been ruled out for next week's contests, but considering he hasn't begun physical activity, it seems highly unlikely he takes the court.
Wed Jan 14 201511:22Williams (ribs) without return timetable
Williams (ribs) is without a return timetable, the New York Post reports. "I'm still pretty sore. I don't have a timetable, just taking it one day at a time," Williams said. "There's nothing you can do, really. They're doing some laser and heating it up; just rest. Other than that, there's nothing really you can do."
Williams has missed the team's last three games with fractured rib cartilage, and he said the Nets' medical staff has refused to give him a timetable. It's difficult to estimate when he may return, but given the fact that he's still experiencing soreness, he'll likely miss at least another handful of games. The Nets play Wednesday, Friday and Saturday but are then off until the following Wednesday, so perhaps Williams could be brought back following the three-day break.
Thu Jan 8 201514:00Deron Williams: (Rib) Out Indefinitely
An MRI revealed Williams has a fractured rib and he's out indefinitely, Ken Berger of CBS Sports reports.
Williams has been dealing with a left side injury for the past few days, and an MRI on Thursday morning revealed the fracture. The Nets will re-evaluated Williams in one week, but it's unknown just how much time he'll miss. Until further notice, it's safe to rule him out for Brooklyn's next four games versus Philadelphia (Friday), Detroit (Saturday), Houston (Monday) and Memphis (Wednesday).

Williams (hip) re-injured his left side in the first half of Wednesday's loss to Boston and did not play in the second half, the Wall Street Journal reports.
Williams left after playing just four minutes in the first half. The Nets have not updated his status yet, but it seems reasonable to believe he'll sit out Friday against the Sixers.
Wed Jan 7 201520:29Williams doubtful to return to Wednesday's game against Celtics ...
Williams is doubtful to return to Wednesday's game against the Celtics due to a sore left side, Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News reports.
Williams left the contest after playing just four minutes, and appears to be a bit of a longshot to return. Jarrett Jack should see steady work in his absence, with Williams likely day-to-day in advance of Friday's matchup against the Sixers.
Wed Jan 7 201517:42Deron Williams: (Hip) Will Play Wednesday
Williams (hip) will be available to play Wednesday against the Celtics, NorthJersey.com reports.
Williams was listed as doubtful earlier in the day due to a left side injury, but his condition has improved and he'll be available off the bench. It's unclear whether Williams has put the injury behind him, though, as the pain seems to have been up and down over the past few days.

Williams (hip) is considered doubtful to play Wednesday against Boston, Rod Boone of Newsday reports.
Williams was considered probable to play Monday against Dallas but was still experiencing considerable pain in his side during warm ups, so the team made the decision to hold him out. With the discomfort still an issue, Williams appears unlikely to take the floor Wednesday.
Mon Jan 5 201517:58Williams (hip) will not play Monday against Mavericks
Williams (hip) will not play Monday against the Mavericks, Andy Vasquez of The Record reports.
Williams is dealing with a sore hip, and coach Lionel Hollins said the point guard is simply in too much pain to play. Jarrett Jack will remain the starter at point guard, but with Kevin Garnett (rest) also out, Brook Lopez will return to the starting lineup.
Mon Jan 5 201512:40Williams (hip) probable for Monday's game
Williams (hip) is probable for Monday's game, ESPN New York's Mike Mazzeo reports.
He will remain in a bench role, but the minor hip injury he suffered Sunday will not force him to miss any time. Williams' fantasy value is in a bit of a holding pattern right now, but if he were to be traded to a contender, there is a chance he could start seeing 30-plus minutes per game once again.
Mon Jan 5 201511:16Williams (hip) will continue to come off bench indefinitely
Williams (hip) will continue to come off the bench indefinitely, The Brooklyn Game's Devin Kharpertian reports.
Williams still saw more minutes (26) off the bench Sunday than starter Jarrett Jack (25), so this is not a major hindrance to him being useful in fantasy. He sustained a minor hip injury Sunday, but is hopeful that he will be able to play Monday against the Mavericks.

Williams scored 13 points (5-10 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), to go along with eight assists, six rebounds, and one steal in 26 minutes on Sunday. However, he also injured his hip in the process.
Williams has now played well in back-to-back games off the bench, while Jarrett Jack has struggled during the same stretch. Williams may need to miss some time due to his hip, but as long as he's in trade discussions Williams is sure to get minutes, when healthy.
Sun Jan 4 201521:24Williams sustained minor hip injury Sunday against Heat
Williams sustained a minor hip injury Sunday against the Heat, Rod Boone of Newday reports.
Williams departed in the fourth quarter with pain in his hip and described the injury as cramp-like. The team is considering him day-to-day, and Williams said he hopes to be able to play Monday against the Mavericks. Until further notice, consider Williams, who's been coming off the bench behind Jarrett Jack, questionable.

Williams had 16 points (5-10 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT) and seven assists in 29 minutes off the bench in the win over Orlando on Friday.
Jarrett Jack has been starting and playing effectively for the Nets, but he had a bad game against the Magic (six points, six turnovers). This could open the door for Williams to win back his starting spot and earn some more minutes. However, this was the first game in which Williams outplayed Jack, so the situation likely won't change yet.
Thu Jan 1 201516:46Williams will continue playing off bench Friday against Magic
Williams will continue playing off the bench Friday against the Magic, the New York Daily News reports.
The Nets will continue using Jarrett Jack as the starting point guard so that they can limit Williams' minutes. He has averaged about 20 minutes per game since returning to action Dec. 27 and figures to play around the same Friday.

Williams (calf) returned to the lineup Friday after missing two games, scoring eight points (2-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-6 FT) and picking up four assists in 21 minutes.
While Williams sat, his replacement, Jarrett Jack, erupted for 27 points. If he's healthy, though, Williams will move back into his starting role, especially if the Nets want to try to shop him around before the trade deadline. Williams is on pace to surpass his numbers from last season in points, assists and rebounds and is a decent fantasy option when he's inserted back into the starting lineup.

Williams (calf) is considered a game-time call for Friday's matchup with Boston, Rod Boone of Newsday reports.
Williams continues to battle calf issues, which have held him out of the Nets' last two games. He practiced Wednesday, which is encouraging, but he'll likely need to go through shootaround, and perhaps pregame warmups, before coming to a final decision. Whether Williams plays or not, coach Lionel Hollins said he'll stick with his starting lineup from Tuesday's game, which featured Jarrett Jack as the starting point guard.
Wed Dec 24 201411:40Williams (calf) participated in practice Wednesday
Williams (calf) participated in practice Wednesday, ESPN New York reports.
Williams missed Tuesday's game against the Nuggets due to the calf issue, but his return to practice indicates he will likely be available Friday against the Celtics. In the off chance he isn't able to suit up again Friday, Jarrett Jack would expect to see the bulk of his minutes again.
Tue Dec 23 201417:06Deron Williams: (Calf) Out Tuesday
Williams (calf) will not play Tuesday, the New York Post's Tim Bontemps reports.
The Nets don't play again until Friday in Boston, so Williams will have some time to continue to rest his calf. Jarrett Jack will remain the key beneficiary of Williams' absence, and is a strong play in daily leagues.
Mon Dec 22 201414:51Williams (calf) not at practice Monday due to dental procedure
Williams (calf) was not at practice Monday due to a dental procedure.
Williams is also dealing with a calf injury, which kept him out of action Sunday against the Pistons. The combination of the two issues should be enough to consider him questionable to play Tuesday against the Nuggets. If he sits out, Jarrett Jack could make a second straight start at point guard.
