Tue Jan 28 201422:54Jerryd Bayless returns, scores 10 for Celtics
Jerryd Bayless returned from his toe injury and hit 4-of-9 shots for 10 points and four assists in 27 minutes off the Celtics bench on Tuesday.
If the Celtics decide to play Rajon Rondo in the second night of a back-to-back on Wednesday, Bayless should be relatively quiet off the bench again. However, if Rondo is held out to protect his surgically repaired knee, Bayless would be a sneaky daily play tomorrow.

Tue Jan 28 201412:21Jerryd Bayless (toe) ready to go vs. Knicks
Jerryd Bayless (toe) will be available off the Celtics' bench on Tuesday.
The Celtics have been deploying some unorthodox lineups lately and Bayless' return gives coach Brad Stevens more options off the bench, where guys like Chris Johnson and Phil Pressey have been logging quality minutes. Bayless isn't likely to hold fantasy value in most leagues even with Avery Bradley sidelined.

Sun Jan 26 201421:27Jerryd Bayless (toe) sits out Sunday's game
Jerryd Bayless (toe) sat out Sunday's game, as expected.
He was officially listed as 'doubtful' but there was never any real expectation that he'd suit up. With an initial timetable of 7-10 days, he could be ready to go as soon as Tuesday's road game in New York.

Sat Jan 25 201414:13Jerryd Bayless (toe) questionable for Sunday
Jerryd Bayless (toe) was a limited participant in Saturday's practice and he's questionable to return on Sunday.
Bayless was expected to miss 7-10 days as of Jan. 21, so a return this weekend would be an encouraging surprise for the Celtics. They're already playing without Avery Bradley (ankle) and with Rajon Rondo on a minute-limit, which has thrust rookie Phil Pressey into a big role.

Tue Jan 21 201411:23Jerryd Bayless expected to miss 7-10 days
Jerryd Bayless (toe) is expected to miss 7-10 days.
The recently acquired Bayless has been averaging nearly 20 minutes per game with the Celtics, so this news should pave the way for Avery Bradley and Phil Pressey to log heavy minutes while Bayless is out. With Rajon Rondo (knee) still on a minutes restriction, Pressey could become an interesting low-cost daily play.

Mon Jan 20 201412:44Jerryd Bayless (toe) questionable vs. Miami
Jerryd Bayless (sprained big toe) didn't practice on Monday and he's questionable to play the Heat on Tuesday.
Bayless had a few nice games upon his arrival to Boston but he's not a reliable option in standard leagues as long as Rajon Rondo, Avery Bradley and Phil Pressey are all healthy. Check back for updates on his status following the Celtics' shootaround.

Sun Jan 19 201419:44Jerryd Bayless won't return w/ sprained toe
Jerryd Bayless will not return to Sunday's game after spraining his right big toe.
This leaves him questionable for Tuesday's game vs. the Heat, but with luck we'll have a definitive update on Sunday. Phil Pressey has already assumed backup PG duties and he'd be in line for big minutes if Bayless misses any games, especially with Rajon Rondo still on a 20-minute limit.

Fri Jan 17 201422:28Jerryd Bayless invisible in 18 bench minutes
Jerryd Bayless failed to record any rebounds, assists or steals in 18 minutes on Friday, finishing with just four points on 2-of-5 shooting.
Phil Pressey played tremendously well in support of Rajon Rondo, who had an impressive season debut, and things aren't looking good for Bayless' fantasy value. He's only worth a look if you're hurting for points.

Thu Jan 16 201400:13Jerryd Bayless disappears on Wednesday
Jerryd Bayless played 20 minutes off the bench and missed all five of his shots on Wednesday, finishing with just one point, two rebounds and three assists.
Things were looking up with the trade of teammate Jordan Crawford, but Phil Pressey got 26 minutes and handed out 10 assists, despite failing to score while also missing all five of his shots. It looks like Pressey and Bayless will battle it out for the right to back up Rajon Rondo, who should be back Friday, but Bayless' line would have looked a lot better had some of his shots fallen tonight. Bayless has been hot and could be ready to become a fantasy factor, despite tonight's poor line, the emergence of Pressey and the return of Rondo.

Wed Jan 15 201414:50Jerryd Bayless expected to see more minutes
Jerryd Bayless should see more playing time with the trade of Jordan Crawford.
Bayless was tremendous on Monday in front of the home folks and he's shot 56.5 percent from the field in his last two games. Although, he's having a terrible season on the whole, making just 38.2 percent of his shots. Bayless takes a lot of mid-range jumpers, so he'll be susceptible to some ugly shooting lines with the increased role. Still, his upside makes him a decent pickup in standard leagues for the mystery factor.

Mon Jan 13 201423:52'Less is more: Jerryd Bayless shines at home
Jerryd Bayless had a terrific debut at home with his new team on Monday, scoring 17 points with one rebound, four assists, two steals, one block and one 3-pointer in 24 minutes.
He's on a roll and has suddenly become the best backcourt bench option for the Celtics. The Celtics probably acquired him for his contract more than anything, but they could also use him to allow them to possibly deal Jordan Crawford. Bayless is worth owning in 14-team leagues until he cools off.

Sun Jan 12 201402:12Jerryd Bayless scores 12 points with Celtics
Jerryd Bayless had his best game as a Celtic on Saturday with 12 points, one board, six assists and one steal in 21 minutes.
He only played 19.0 minutes per game in his last two while playing 25 in his debut on Tuesday thanks to garbage time. Bayless ran some point tonight and could get more chances in the future, but his ceiling isn't high enough to pick him up in most leagues.

Thu Jan 9 201401:56Jerryd Bayless plays 20 minutes in loss
Jerryd Bayless played 20 minutes off the bench and hit 3-of-9 shots for 11 points, three rebounds, five assists, two steals and two 3-pointers on Wednesday.
He had six points, three assists and three steals in his Celtics debut on Tuesday, and while he's not worth owning yet, he could be if he continues to get 20-plus minutes a night from Brad Stevens.

Wed Jan 8 201402:48Jerryd Bayless plays 25 minutes in C's debut
Jerryd Bayless came off the bench and played 25 minutes in his Celtics debut on Tuesday, hitting 3-of-11 shots for six points, three assists and three steals.
This is a good sign that the Celtics plan on using him frequently, so keep an eye on Bayless going forward, and think about grabbing him if you're in a very deep league.

Mon Jan 6 201415:20Jerryd Bayless could be available on Tuesday
Jerryd Bayless could be available for Tuesday's game against the Nuggets.
The trade with Memphis is not official yet and he is not with the time on Monday afternoon. Bayless' acquisition seems to be motivated by his somewhat cheap contract and he will likely just serve as depth behind Jordan Crawford and Avery Bradley. Phil Pressey 's playing time figures to be hurt more than anyone else's.

Sun Jan 5 201417:24Boston and Memphis talking Bayless-Lee swap
The Boston Celtics are in "advanced discussions" on a trade to acquire Jerryd Bayless from the Grizzlies in exchange for Courtney Lee.
The Celtics are getting more than they bargained for from Jordan Crawford and Avery Bradley as their starting guards, so Bayless would not likely leapfrog either player in their starting lineup. He is having a bumpy ride this season, shooting only 38 percent from the field in 31 games with the Grizzlies. Bayless wouldn't gain enough value on the Celtics to pick him up in most leagues.

Fri Jan 3 201401:15Jerryd Bayless spurs Memphis to win at PHX
Jerryd Bayless, who is from Phoenix, scored 13 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter and added four assists and three 3-pointers on 6-of-11 shooting in 31 minutes as the Suns beat the Grizzlies on Thursday.
He said the Suns bench was dissing his high school, which gave him extra motivation to beat them. Bayless has been alternating good game with off nights, and is averaging 12.0 points, 2.4 assists and 2.0 3-pointers over his last five, but a lack of steals is a bit of a concern if you're thinking about using him.

Sun Dec 29 201301:21Jerryd Bayless scores 15 in win over Nuggets
Jerryd Bayless played 21 minutes off the bench and hit 6-of-10 shots and two 3-pointers for 15 points and one assist.
Bayless has hit double figures in three of his last five games and is averaging 11.4 points, 2.6 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.4 3-pointers in 22 minutes over that stretch. With Mike Conley struggling (14 points, 4 assists tonight), Bayless is worth keeping an eye on. But he's only worth consideration for a pick up in deeper leagues.

Tue Dec 24 201302:17Jerryd Bayless scores 17 points off bench
Jerryd Bayless provided a spark off the bench on Monday with 17 points, one rebound, three assists, one block and three 3-pointers on 6-of-11 shooting in 24 minutes vs. Utah.
All 17 points came in the second half and he was a big part of the win. He squandered his opportunity to show what he could do with Mike Conley missing two games, but he's improved over his last two shooting 9-of-16 combined. Bayless is still too hit or miss to add in most leagues.

Thu Dec 19 201301:16Jerryd Bayless has a typical line vs. Mavs
Jerryd Bayless shot 3-of-13 from the field against the Mavericks on Wednesday, scoring seven points with five boards, six assists, three steals and one turnover in 34 minutes.
He started at point guard for the second consecutive game with Mike Conley (thigh) out of the lineup. There's a decent chance Conley will make it back for Saturday's game, so if Bayless is still on the wire, there isn't much incentive to pick him up at this point.
