Young has been assigned to Maine of the D-League for Wednesday's game, Celtics reporter Emily Austen reports.

Young will join Dwight Powell for the Red Claws' game in Delaware on Wednesday night. Both players will then return to Boston on Thursday.

Young was sent back to Maine of the D-League on Saturday, CSN Northeast's A. Sherrod Blakely reports.

This could be a back and forth season for Young, as the Celtics would like him to get playing time, but there is not much to come by for him at the NBA level.

Young was recalled from the Maine Red Claws of the D-League on Friday.

Young was sent down for just one game against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants and he was able to up an impressive 31 points and nine rebounds during that contest. With Friday's mid-afternoon recall, the rookie will be available when the the Celtics face the Lakers on Friday night.

Young will join Dwight Powell and Marcus Smart in Maine, as all three were assigned Thursday. Young has seen time in only two of the Celtics last nine games and has been relegated to garbage minutes through the first month of the season. He'll return to Maine for the third time this season, where he holds averages of 21.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in two contests.

Young was hit with the dreaded "DNP Coach's Decision" on Friday against the Bulls, despite recovering from an illness this week.

The rookie has bounced around between the Celtics and the D-League this season, but was officially available for Friday's game. Young has only played in 12 minutes all season, and it certainly wouldn't be surprising to see him sent down to the D-League again.

After missing practice a day earlier with the illness, Young was able to get in a workout Thursday to make himself an option off the bench for the Celtics' next game. That being said, Young has yet to crack coach Brad Stevens' rotation with just three appearances on the season, so expect him to remain unused despite the fact he's now healthy.

He'll fly back to Boston after the game and should participate in practices this week leading up to Friday's matchup with the Bulls. Young has been buried at the end of the Celtics' bench thus far, appearing in only three games and logging 12 total minutes.

Young has not practiced the last two days but it sounds like he is back with the team for good after being absent with a personal issue.

The rookie is currently on the bottom of the totem pole in Boston and it doesn't seem like that will change as the season progresses. At just 19-years-old, Young is currently a long-term option, and a shaky one at that.

Young seems to have gotten over his hamstring injury with his successful 26-minute outing against the Nets in which he was able to score five points and grab four rebounds.

Young was plagued with a hamstring injury throughout the preseason that limited him to just two games. The rookie certainly could have benefited from more time on the court, both in practice and exhibition games, but there's no time for prep left as the Celtics begin their regular season against the Nets on Wednesday. At 19-years-old, it's still undetermined what kind of role Young will have on the team, although he'll be competing for minutes with the three capable veterans of Jeff Green, Evan Turner, and Gerald Wallace which certainly curtails his value.

Young (hamstring) is not experiencing pain after Monday's practice and is expected to play Wednesday against the Nets.

The rookie missed two weeks with a strained hamstring but returned to the practice floor Monday. While he's not yet 100 percent, he said he's "definitely in the 90s," so Young should be close to, if not fully, healthy when the regular season opens next Wednesday. The Kentucky product will see time at both shooting guard and small forward this season, but he's currently stuck behind veterans Jeff Green, Evan Turner, Gerald Wallace and Avery Bradley on the depth chart.

Young (hamstring) will not play in Sunday's preseason game.

It was widely suspected that Young would be held out of Sunday's game and that indeed came to fruition as he continues to deal with a strained left hamstring. His next opportunity to play will be against the Nets on Wednesday.
