Mon Sep 20 202109:27Pete Alonso Finishing Up 2021 In A Funk
New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso went 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout in the Mets 3-2 win over the Phillies on Sunday. Alonso was red hot last at the beginning of September but has since fallen into a funk at the dish. Over his last seven games, Alonso is batting just .192/.323/.346 with one home run, two RBI, and two runs scored. That said, despite the hitless night on Sunday, on the bright side, Alonso did go 3-for-9 in the series with the Phillies that just concluded. Notwithstanding the recent struggles, Alonso remains a must-start. He has posted an impressive .261/.341/.510 slash line this season, to go with 33 homers, 87 RBI, and 74 runs scored over 518 at-bats. He should remain active in all formats for the Mets final 12 games of the season.

New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso went 2-for-4 with two home runs, three RBI, two runs scored, and a walk in the Mets 9-4 win over the Marlins on Tuesday. Alonso became the second-fastest player in MLB history to get to 100 home runs (347 games), behind only Ryan Howard who got to 100 homers in 325 games. On the season, Alonso now has 32 homers, 84 RBI, and a slash line of .269/.348/.526 over 129 games. Known to hit home runs in bunches, Alonso should remain active in all fantasy formats and is a solid DFS play while his bat remains red hot.

Wed Aug 25 202109:44Pete Alonso With Two Hits On Tuesday
New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso went 2-for-4 in the Mets 8-0 loss to the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday. Alonso continues to swing a very hot bat for the Mets while the majority of the rest of the lineup struggles at the plate. Over the past seven games and 27 at-bats, Alonso is batting .370/.433/.704 with three home runs and six RBI. On the season, Alonso is batting .260/.342/.506 with 28 home runs, 17 doubles, and 73 RBI. Alonso should remain active in all fantasy formats, particularly while he remains hot at the plate. If his supporting cast in Flushing can start hitting with more (or any) consistency, Alonso could see a huge spike in RBI opportunities and totals over the final weeks of the 2021 campaign.

Wed Aug 18 202121:02Pete Alonso Day-To-Day After X-Rays Come Back Negative
Updating an earlier report, New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso (elbow) had X-rays of his elbow come back negative after he exited Wednesday's game following a hit by pitch, according to Justin Toscano of NorthJersey.com. Alonso was hit on his elbow in the top of the ninth inning and immediately exited the game, and Toscano now reports that Alonso is currently experiencing some swelling on his triceps. Managers should consider Alonso day-to-day, and don't be surprised if he is not in the lineup on Thursday.

He's been having a nice year at the plate, slashing .250/.333/.495 with 26 homers, 69 RBI and 58 runs scored over 109 games. Tue Aug 17 202110:15Pete Alonso Drives In Two On Monday
On Monday, New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso went 1-for-4 with a two-run triple in the Mets 7-5 loss to the San Francisco Giants. Like the rest of the Mets lineup, Alonso had been struggling, though he has started to heat up as we get into late August. Alonso is now batting .310/.375/.610 over his last seven games with one home run, four doubles, run, and four RBI. Though we'd like to see more production in the power department, Alonso is hitting well of late and getting on base. For the season, Alonso is batting .250/.334/.490 with 25 home runs, 17 doubles, and 67 RBI. Alonso should remain active in all fantasy formats despite the Mets' overall proclivity to not hit with runners in scoring position.

Thu Aug 12 202110:13Pete Alonso With Three Hits On Wednesday
New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored, and an RBI in the Mets 8-7 victory over the Washington Nationals on Wednesday. Alonso had gone a putrid 0-for-21 prior to his outburst on Wednesday, exemplifying exactly why Alonso should remain active in all formats, even when struggling. Hopefully, Wednesday's performance will jump-start Alonso's bat and propel him to another hot streak. On the season, Alonso is batting .250/.334/.486 with 24 home runs, 15 doubles, and 64 RBI.

Sat Aug 7 202120:53Another Hitless Day For Pete Alonso
New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso went 0-for-4 with a walk and three strikeouts in the Mets latest lethargic 5-3 loss to the Phillies on Saturday. Alonso is now hitless in his last five games, having gone 0-for-15 with eight walks over that span. Over his last seven games, Alonso is slashing a paltry .083/.313/.208 with just one home run and one RBI in 24 at-bats. The entire Mets offense, including Alonso, is in a brutal tailspin right now. Despite his struggles, fantasy managers in seasonal leagues are unlikely to have a comparable replacement to insert into lineups to replace Alonso. As such, managers should continue to keep Alonso active. The struggling Mets will face Zack Wheeler and the Phillies on Sunday, making Alonso a good fade in DFS formats.

Thu Aug 5 202101:07Pete Alonso Walks Twice And Steals A Bag
New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso didn't record a hit against the Miami Marlins Wednesday, but he did reach twice via the walk in five plate appearances. On one of those occasions, he took advantage of a snoozing Zach Thompson to steal his second base of the season. It was only the fourth of Alonso's career, and he has yet to be caught. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect too many more bases, but it's a nice bonus for a power-hitter providing an .830 OPS and 24 homers in 250 at-bats.

Mon Aug 2 202123:57Pete Alonso Hits Another Homer Monday
New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso continued his hot second half Monday, going 2-for-5 with a solo home run against the Miami Marlins. The solo shot came off of newly acquired Marlins starter Jesus Luzardo. Alonso now has 24 homers on the season, with seven of those coming in his last 15 games. He's raised his OPS to .839 in 344 at-bats this year. Alonso has a reputation as one of the most fearsome bats out there, and he's delivering on that promise lately. Fantasy managers can enjoy the ride as he carries them into playoff position.
