Fri Jul 19 201308:58Reimold headed to DL with more neck issues
Nolan Reimold is headed back to the disabled list with a recurrence of the neck pain that forced him to miss nearly all of last season.
Well, that's not good. Reimold had spinal fusion surgery last year in hopes to correct the issue, and while it appeared to work for a while, he's obviously having problems again. The outfielder has played just 56 games since the start of last season and hasn't played more than 87 games in a season since his rookie year back in 2009. It's not clear whether surgery is again on the table.

Orioles placed OF Nolan Reimold on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 12, with a right hamstring strain.
It's the reason why Reimold was held out of the Orioles' lineup for the fifth straight day Saturday. Chris Dickerson will likely get the majority of starts at designated hitter in his absence. Given his injury history, Reimold could be looking at an extended stay on the DL.

Sat May 4 201300:27Nolan Reimold goes hitless against Angels
Nolan Reimold went 0-for-4 from the leadoff spot in Friday's loss to the Angels.
Reimold impressed this spring in his return from knee surgery, but he's hit just .207 in 82 regular-season at-bats to date. Fortunately for him, the Orioles don't have any great replacements for him in the DH spot with Wilson Betemit sidelined. However, they could start giving Chris Dickerson time there against righties if Reimold doesn't improve.

Nolan Reimold had a big day at the plate on Saturday afternoon, going 2-for-4 with a solo homer and a go-ahead two-run double in a 7-5 win over the Dodgers.
Reimold took Hyun-Jin Ryu deep in the fourth inning and put the Orioles ahead in the eighth with a bases-loaded, opposite-field double off Ronald Belisario. This was his first multi-hit game since Opening Day. The 29-year-old has been mentioned as a fantasy sleeper in the past and he's getting a shot at regular playing time with Wilson Betemit (knee) sidelined. He could be worth a look in deeper mixed leagues.
