Hill is out of the lineup Sunday against the Marlins.
Hill missed two games already this week due to unspecified soreness, and will receive another day of rest Sunday afternoon. The 32-year-old is hitting just .175 in August, with Friday's home run representing his only extra-base hit on the month. Cliff Pennington will take over at the keystone.

Hill went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Friday's 3-2 win over the Marlins.
After batting just .182 (6-for-33) with no extra-base hits over his previous nine games, Hill came up with the biggest hit of Friday's contest. The second baseman's first-inning homer turned out to be the difference, as all five runs of the contest came in the opening frame.

Manager Kirk Gibson said Hill was held out of Thursday's lineup because he was "a little banged up," Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.
Gibson declined to elaborate on the specific nature of the injury, but he did acknowledge that a stint on the DL isn't a possibility. With that in mind, there would seem to be a good chance that Hill gets back into the lineup at some point over the weekend.
Thu Aug 14 201415:58Hill out of lineup Thursday
Hill is out of the lineup Thursday vs. the Marlins.
Hill didn't get a true day of rest Wednesday in starting one of the two games of the doubleheader with the Indians, so he'll spend Thursday's game on the bench. Cliff Pennington will cover second base in his stead.

Hill is out of the lineup for Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Indians.
Cliff Pennington will step in at second base to face Josh Tomlin in Game 2, with Hill headed to the bench for the second time in five games. Hill has posted just a .465 OPS so far in August but will likely continue to see regular time for Arizona.

Hill went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in the Diamondbacks' 8-3 loss to the Pirates on Saturday.
Hill seems to have picked up where he left off in his second game in August. Last month, Hill batted .267 with a 10-game hitting streak. Over the past 30 days, Hill is looking more like the .272 lifetime hitter that he is. However, his average still sits at .253 for the year.

Hill went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in the Diamondbacks' 3-0 loss to the Reds on Tuesday night.
Hill made his first start since bruising his right hand Saturday. He had been hitting well before the injury, with a .273 average in July. He also had a 10-game hitting streak going before he returned. It remains to be seen whether the injury will linger for Hill, who is 0-for-4 combined since returning.

Hill has missed the last two games after being hit on the right hand by a pitch Saturday, but he's feeling much better. The second baseman had heated up at the plate of late, batting .410/.442/.718 with a couple homers during a 10-game hit streak.

Mon Jul 28 201416:19Hill (hand) out of lineup again Monday
Aaron Hill (hand) is out of Monday's lineup against the Reds.
Hill left Saturday's game after he was hit on the right hand with a pitch and will now miss his second straight start. He is available off the bench Monday, so it sounds like he'll be ready to go soon.

Sun Jul 27 201412:18Aaron Hill (hand) sitting out Sunday
Aaron Hill (hand) is not in the Diamondbacks' lineup Sunday.
Hill had to exit Saturday's contest following a hit by pitch on his right hand. X-rays came back negative, but he's obviously still a bit sore. Consider him day-to-day. Didi Gregorius is at second base Sunday in Hill's place.

Fri Jul 25 201422:37Aaron Hill has three hits in loss to Phillies
Aaron Hill had a nice night at the dish in Friday's loss to the Phillies, going 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and a run scored.
A popular name in trade rumblings, the veteran infielder may be donning a new jersey at this time next week. With the three-hit effort, he is slashing .255/.289/.390 with eight homers and 48 RBI on the year.

Thu Jul 24 201419:09Diamondbacks 'looking to trade' Aaron Hill
CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Diamondbacks are "looking to trade" Aaron Hill.
It appears that they're much more likely to move Hill than Martin Prado, as Heyman says the club is "barely listening" to inquiries on Prado. Hill is batting .251 with eight homers and 49 RBI in a down season and is still owed $28 million through 2016, so Arizona probably wouldn't receive a whole lot in return.

Wed Jul 23 201401:18Hill homers, drives in three vs Tigers
Aaron Hill went 1-for-3 with three RBI and a home run in the Diamondbacks' 5-4 win against the Tigers.
The home run, a first inning solo shot, was just Hill's eighth of the season. His other two RBI came on a third inning sacrifice fly and a sixth inning RBI groundout. While Hill's batting a rather pedestrian .251/.284/.380 on the year, he's doing a decent job knocking in runs from the two-hole in Arizona's lineup, with 48 RBI notches on the belt as we near August.

Sat Jul 5 201410:26Several teams interested in D'Backs infielder
Jon Morosi of FOX Sports reports that the Cardinals, Blue Jays and Giants have all shown varying levels of interest in the Diamondbacks available infielders.
Aaron Hill, Martin Prado and Didi Gregorius have each had their names floated around as being available via trade. All three of the clubs mentioned appear set at the shortstop position, but could use help at second base. The Blue Jays are rumored to be targeting Prado due to his positional flexibility.

Sun Jun 22 201401:44Aaron Hill knocks in two runs
Aaron Hill went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI against the Giants on Saturday.
Hill is 4-for-6 with four RBI the last two nights after breaking out of an 0-for-12 slump. He still has just one homer in June and he hasn't walked since May 25, but the Diamondbacks mostly care about the RBI anyway.

Thu Jun 19 201419:02Aaron Hill goes hitless in third straight
Aaron Hill went hitless in a third straight game Thursday in the loss to the Brewers.
Hill hasn't been all that great at any point during the season, but his modest numbers have taken quite the downturn of late, as he's hitting .219 with one homer and no walks in 64 at-bats this month. As much as he's struggling, he's probably the better option than Chris Owings to sit when the Diamondbacks want to play Didi Gregorius.

Fri May 30 201400:48Hill goes deep, knocks in 2 in 4-0 victory
Aaron Hill helped sink the Reds by going 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Thursday's 4-0 triumph.
This was Hill's first multi-hit game since May 14; that was also the day of his last round tripper. Amidst the struggles were a few missed games because of a sore shoulder and another start after fouling a ball off his ankle on Sunday. Hopefully this evening's outburst portends better times ahead for the hobbled second baseman. He's batting .259 with five homers.
