Ajinca started in place of the injured Omer Asik (back) and scored 12 points (3-4 FG, 6-6 FT) while grabbing eight rebounds in 21 minutes against the Nuggets Friday.
Ajinca has averaged 19 minutes per game during Asik's absence. He can be a decent short-term source of points and rebounds for streaming managers as long as Asik remains out.

Ajinca will man center for the inactive Omer Asik (back) on Monday in Portland, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Ajinca has averaged a measly 8.5 minutes per game on the season, with two DNPs in eight contests, but a boost to his workload can be expected. While he's unlikely to approach a full complement of minutes due to the presence of Jeff Withey and Ryan Anderson in the frontcourt, Ajinca has posted per-36 output of 13.4 points and 7.8 rebounds in his brief run, which could be profitable if a streaming option is required.
Tue Nov 11 201408:28Ajinca never left bench during Monday's loss to Cavaliers
Ajinca never left the bench during Monday's loss to the Cavaliers.
The silver lining for Ajinca is that fellow center Jeff Withey didn't make an appearance either. Instead, coach Monty Williams decided to roll with Ryan Anderson as his only backup big man. Ajinca has only been playing sparingly when he does get in the game, averaging 6.8 minutes per game.

Ajinca is currently buried on the depth chart and has only made an appearance in three games this season.
There's not much room for Ajinca to operate when Anthony Davis and Omer Asik are occupying the frontcourt. Ajinca's minutes have been a casualty of this phenomena and there's no reason to believe it will change as the season progresses.

Ajinca (quad/hamstring) played 11 minutes off the bench during Wednesday's preseason game against the Wizards, scoring four points (2-2 FG) with four rebounds and two blocks.
As long as he stays healthy, Ajinca should be Omer Asik's primary backup at center for the Pelicans, although that's no guarantee he'll see even the modest 17 minutes per game he got last season.
Sat Oct 4 201410:16Ajinca (quad
Ajinca (quad, hamstring) has missed the last two days of practice due to injury, the Times-Picayune reports.
Ajinca, who has worked with coaches all summer in an effort to get stronger and more productive around the rim, strained his quad and hamstring in practice Wednesday, reducing him to a spectator role. The favorite for minutes behind Omer Asik at center, Ajinca's injury could open the door for second-year man Jeff Withey or rookie Patric Young to prove they deserve time on the floor.
Thu Jul 24 201410:06Alexis Ajinca will not play in FIBA World Cup
Alexis Ajinca has decided not to play in this summer's FIBA World Cup of Basketball.
With his wife expected to give birth during the tournament, Ajinca has decided to stay home rather than join Team France. "This is a blow," France coach Vincent Collet said of losing his starting center, "but we must move forward with those who are there." Despite his importance to his national team, Ajinca doesn't hold the same importance with the New Orleans Pelicans and won't be much of a fantasy factor playing behind Anthony Davis and Omer Asik in 2014-15.

Sat Apr 12 201423:16Alexis Ajinca starts, scores 17 in loss
Alexis Ajinca started at center and hit 7-of-12 shots for 17 points, seven rebounds, a steal and three blocks in Saturday's loss to the Rockets.
That's a nice line from Ajinca, who didn't even play on Wednesday against the Suns. With Anthony Davis done, Ajinca could continue to start and would make for a cheap fantasy play if that's the case.

Thu Apr 10 201412:36Alexis Ajinca benched due to matchup
Alexis Ajinca is not injured, but didn't play on Wednesday due to a matchup with the Suns.
Ajinca is 7-2 and the Suns play a quick version of small ball, so Ajinca's absence made some sense. He should be back in action on Friday.

Sun Mar 30 201400:01Alexis Ajinca played 27 minutes as starter
Alexis Ajinca started at power forward against the Spurs on Saturday with two points, seven boards and one assist in 27 minutes.
He had a couple nice games before tonight, but he looked lost against a very good Spurs team. Ajinca is far from a strong pickup, but he's a double-double threat and should see minutes in the high 20s until Anthony Davis (ankle) can return.

Fri Mar 28 201423:12Alexis Ajinca steps up for injury-depleted NO
Alexis Ajinca shot 3-of-6 for nine points, 10 rebounds, three assists, one steal, and three blocks in 28 minutes during Friday's win over the Jazz.
Ajinca started the second half in place of the injured Anthony Davis and came one point shy of recording his second consecutive double-double. There isn't Anthony Davis-type upside here, but Ajinca has averaged 9.7 points, 10 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks over his last three games. We're awaiting word on Davis' injury, but Ajinca just became interesting speculative add for owners in search of boards and blocks.

Thu Mar 27 201401:11Alexis Ajinca double-doubles vs. Clippers
Alexis Ajinca double-doubled during Wednesday's 98-96 win over the Clippers with 14 points, 11 boards, one assist and five fouls in 28 minutes.
He is outplaying Greg Stiemsma tonight, but the Pelicans had to play Al-Farouq Aminu at small forward, which kept most of the minutes available at center due to Anthony Davis staying at power forward. There is little reason to pick up Ajinca based on this game along.

Tue Dec 17 201317:55Alexis Ajinca to sign 2-year deal w/ Pelicans
Alexis Ajinca will sign a two-year deal with the Pelicans once he buys out his contract with his current team in France.
The deal is expected to be fully guaranteed at the league minimum, providing New Orleans with some affordable frontcourt depth. Ajinca isn't a fantasy consideration, however, and he sports NBA career averages of 3.1 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.6 personal fouls in under eight minutes per game.

Ajinca has career NBA averages of 3.1 points and 1.6 rebounds per game, playing limited minutes in four seasons with the Bobcats, Mavericks and Raptors. He was far more productive in France last year, scoring 15.3 points per game, and may spend the rest of his career overseas.

Mon Aug 13 201208:34Alexis Ajinca continues his career in France
Alexis Ajinca has re-signed with SIG Strasbourg in France.
Ajinca, the No. 20 overall pick of the 2008 draft, will receive a one-year deal with the French club. Despite being a true 7-footer, Ajinca could never really catch on in the NBA, spending parts of three seasons with the Bobcats, Mavericks and Raptors. He's still just 24 years old.

Sun Dec 4 201111:38Knicks add Ajinca to their FA wish list
The Knicks have added Alexis Ajinca to their free-agent wish list.
New York would only sign him to a one-year deal, and they're also looking for veteran frontcourt help from guys like Jeff Foster, Kurt Thomas or Aaron Gray. Ajinca is only 23 years old and has nice upside, as he can block shots and has 3-point range, but he needs to get stronger and improve his basketball IQ.

Sat Sep 3 201114:33Alexis Ajinca close to signing in Spain?
Raptors big man Alexis Ajinca is reportedly close to signing with the Spanish team Blancos de Rueda Valladolid.
Ajinca played a small role in Toronto last season, but the Raptors have an affordable $2.3 million team option for him next season. It is therefore likely that he'll need to negotiate an out-clause into any deal, though the Raptors could release him if they are so inclined.
