Thu Jul 7 202212:21Cody Bellinger Steals A Base, Adds Three Hits
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger led the way offensively in a 2-1 victory over the Colorado Rockies Wednesday, going 3-for-4 with a stolen base and two runs scored. While Bellinger has largely been disappointing this (and previous) seasons, he has now reached double digits in both homers and steals with 11 long balls and 10 swiped bags. His .213 batting average is a drag, and it's worrisome that he's on pace to strike out more than ever before, with 90 in just 277 at-bats, but on most fantasy rosters he is still worth hanging onto to fill in the power and speed categories.

Wed Jun 15 202215:06Cody Bellinger Continues To Steal Bases
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger hasn't had the most productive season at the plate. However, the outfielder has continued to steal bases. In 226 plate appearances this season, the 26-year-old is batting .204 with a .274 on-base percentage, seven home runs, and six stolen bases in 226 plate appearances in 56 games. Bellinger began his career with three straight seasons with double-digit stolen bases totals from 2017 to 2019 but hasn't reached double-digit steals since. He has a shot at topping his previous career-high of 15. The veteran stole 15 bases in 2019 when he played in 156 games and logged 660 plate appearances for the Dodgers.

Thu Jun 2 202218:43Cody Bellinger Back Against Mets
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger (hip) is back in center field and is hitting seventh on Thursday against New York Mets right-hander Taijuan Walker. After missing the team's last four games, Bellinger will be back in there for the start of a series against New York in Los Angeles. The power-hitting left-hander has been better in the last 14 days with a .273 average (9-for-33) with no homers, four RBI and two stolen bases, but overall he's hitting just .218/.287/.400 with five home runs, 18 RBI, 20 runs scored and six stolen bases in 45 games for the Dodgers. Despite a lot of swing-and-miss to his game, Bellinger remains attractive for his power/speed combination in a relentless Dodgers lineup.

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger (groin) remains out of the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Bellinger is out of the starting lineup for the fourth straight game, but he'll be available off the bench and is expected to be back in there for the series opener against the New York Mets on Thursday. Chris Taylor is playing center field and batting fifth, while Kevin Pillar is in left field and hitting eighth against Pirates left-hander Jose Quintana. Bellinger is hitting just .221 on the season with a .291 on-base percentage in 44 games, but he's gone 11-for-34 (.324) in the last 14 days and has six stolen bases on the year. The power will come, but his swing-and-miss tendencies won't help your team's batting average.

Bellinger was scratched from the lineup due to a non-COVID-19 illness on Tuesday and he also missed Wednesday's contest. The 26-year-old left-handed slugger has continued to be an all-or-nothing hitter at the plate this year after hitting under .200 with only 10 long balls in 95 games in 2021. He's currently slashing just .213/.285/.407 with five home runs, 15 RBI, 19 runs scored and six stolen bases in 41 games. Despite high swing-and-miss rates, Bellinger remains attractive due to his power/speed profile in the best lineup in baseball.

Wed May 25 202215:06Cody Bellinger, Mookie Betts Out Wednesday
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielders Cody Bellinger (illness) and Mookie Betts are not in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Washington Nationals. Gavin Lux is in left field and hitting seventh, Chris Taylor is in center and batting fifth and Hanser Alberto is in right and hitting eighth against Nationals right-hander Erick Fedde on Wednesday. Bellinger has five homers on the year and six stolen bases, but he's hitting just .216 with a .288 on-base percentage in 40 games for LA. Tue Apr 19 202218:17Cody Bellinger Getting The Day Off Tuesday
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger is getting the day off on Tuesday as the team takes on the Atlanta Braves. Chris Taylor will be covering center field for the game. Bellinger has been showing some promising signs at the plate early on this year. Through his first 10 games, he's gone 10-for-36 with two home runs, two doubles, five walks and 12 strikeouts. He has a 45.8% hard-hit rate and a 12.5% barrel rate. Last year, those numbers were 34.4% and 7.1%, respectively. It's of course a small sample size for the 26-year-old, but early returns are certainly encouraging.

Tue Apr 19 202215:00Cody Bellinger Having Bounce-Back Season
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger is having a bounce-back season at the plate so far, batting .278 with a .366 on-base percentage, two home runs, and three stolen bases in 41 plate appearances so far. Bellinger hit just .165 with a .240 on-base percentage, 10 home runs, and three stolen bases in 350 plate appearances during the 2021 season. On any other team, he'd probably be hitting near the top of the order, but Bellinger has mostly hit seventh or eighth this season in a stacked Dodgers lineup.

Sun Mar 27 202210:31Cody Bellinger Struggling In Spring Training
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger struck out four times in a Cactus League game on Saturday and has 14 strikeouts in 19 spring at-bats so far. "Tonight was the first time I felt like things sped up on him. We just got to go back to work and keep grinding," manager Dave Roberts said. As of now, Bellinger's regular season role as a starting outfielder is not in danger, according to Roberts. Fantasy managers should always take spring results with a grain of salt, but Bellinger is coming off an injury plagued season in 2021 in which he hit just .165 with 10 home runs and three steals in 350 plate appearances. The 26-year-old lefty slugger still has plenty of power and resides in the best lineup in baseball, but his stock is down as we approach Opening Day.

Thu Dec 23 202114:09Dodgers, Cody Bellinger Agree To One-Year Deal
The Los Angeles Dodgers and outfielder Cody Bellinger agreed to a one-year, $17 million deal to avoid salary arbitration before the league's Dec. 1 lockout, according to sources familiar with the agreement. The 26-year-old is coming off the worst season of his career, slashing .165/.240/.302 with 10 home runs in 95 games, but he played much better in the postseason. Bellinger is only two seasons removed from winning the National League MVP in 2019 by slashing .305/.406/.629 with 47 home runs. The deal won't be guaranteed until Bellinger makes the Opening Day roster, but he won't hit the free-agent market now until after the 2023 season. A hairline fracture in his left leg, a rib fracture and a hamstring strain caused him to miss time last year, so with better health, fantasy managers should expect better production in 2022.

Sun Oct 3 202112:47Cody Bellinger On The Bench For The Season Finale
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger is not in the starting lineup for the team's season finale against left-hander Brett Anderson and the Milwaukee Brewers. Chris Taylor is getting the start in center field in the game. The left-handed Bellinger has struggled against just about all pitchers this year, but he's been much worse against lefties than he has against righties. He has a .107/.202/.167 slash line against southpaws and a .183/.252/.349 slash line against righties. We could see him enter the game on Sunday as a pinch-hitter if an opportunity against a righty reliever presents itself.
