Wed Sep 29 202119:04Cody Bellinger Not Starting On Wednesday
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger isn't starting on Wednesday against the San Diego Padres and left-hander Ryan Weathers. The 25-year-old is hitting .158 with a .237 on-base percentage, nine home runs, and a pair of stolen bases in 338 plate appearances this season. AJ Pollock, Gavin Lux, and Mookie Betts are starting from left to right in the outfield for the Dodgers against the Padres. Fantasy managers in search of streaming help should consider Pollock. The outfielder is batting .299 with a .359 on-base percentage, 17 home runs, and nine stolen bases in 404 plate appearances this season.

Tue Sep 28 202118:29Cody Bellinger Activated From The Injured List
The Los Angeles Dodgers activated outfielder Cody Bellinger (ribs) from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday. Albert Pujols was placed on the injured list without an injury designation in a corresponding move. Bellinger is not part of the team's starting lineup for Tuesday's game against Yu Darvish and the San Diego Padres. The 26-year-old missed the minimum 10 days due to a left rib fracture. He was slashing just .073/.174/.122 through September prior to the injury. It's been a train wreck season for the slugger and fantasy managers are best off getting away from him in the final week of the year.

Tue Sep 21 202119:15Cody Bellinger Scratched And Placed On Injured List
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger (ribs) has been scratched from the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Colorado Rockies. The Dodgers placed their struggling outfielder on the 10-day injured list due to a left rib fracture. The move is retroactive to September 18. Fellow outfielder Luke Raley was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move. Bellinger had missed the team's previous two games due to the rib fracture, but was being listed as day-to-day and was initially part of the lineup on Tuesday. Instead, Raley is starting in right field with Mookie Betts in center field. Bellinger could still return from the injured list with six games left in the year, but he has no business on fantasy rosters in most season-long leagues at this point.

Tue Sep 21 202118:12Cody Bellinger Back In Lineup Tuesday
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger (ribs) is back in the lineup Tuesday and batting eighth against Antonio Senzatela and the host Colorado Rockies. The 26-year-old missed a few games with a non-displaced fracture to his left rib cage. Injuries have plagued the former NL MVP this season, and it has shown when he is at the plate. Bellinger is hitting a disappointing .159/.237/.291 on the year and hasn't done much against Senzatela, getting one hit in five at-bats against the right-handed pitcher.

Fri Sep 10 202119:13Cody Bellinger On The Bench Friday
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger isn't in Friday's lineup. The Dodgers will take on the San Diego Padres and right-hander Joe Musgrove but will do so without Bellinger, who is hitting .158 with a .232 on-base percentage, nine home runs, and a pair of stolen bases in 315 plate appearances this season. The 25-year-old had previously started the Dodgers' last five games. Los Angeles will instead start Gavin Lux, Chris Taylor, and Mookie Betts from left to right in the outfield on Friday. Taylor and Betts are likely rostered in most leagues, leaving Lux as the only potential streaming option for fantasy managers. Given the matchup with Musgrove, you're probably better off looking elsewhere for streaming help.

Wed Sep 1 202119:27Cody Bellinger Isn't Starting On Wednesday
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger is on the bench for Wednesday's game against the Atlanta Braves and left-hander Max Fried. Bellinger is batting .172 with a .247 on-base percentage, nine home runs, and a pair of stolen bases in 291 plate appearances this season. The Dodgers will go with AJ Pollock, Chris Taylor, and Mookie Betts from left to right in the outfield against Atlanta. Taylor and Betts are likely rostered in most leagues, but Pollock is worth a look as a streaming option in any leagues he isn't currently rostered in. The 33-year-old is batting .297 with a .354 on-base percentage, 16 home runs, and nine stolen bases in 379 plate appearances this season.

Tue Aug 24 202108:11Cody Bellinger Slumping Once Again Over The Last Week
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman/outfielder Cody Bellinger got off to a strong start to the month of August. He recorded hits in 11 of his first 13 games of the month, a stint that included four home runs and five doubles. However, he's cooled off over the past week, going just 1-for-16 over his past five games. It's been a nightmare season for Bellinger, who is slashing .174/.258/.336 with nine home runs and 31 RBI over 66 games on the year. Fantasy managers who can't afford to continue waiting for a Bellinger turnaround can consider dropping him for someone who is producing more consistently right now.

Sun Aug 15 202111:29Cody Bellinger Showing Signs Of Life
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger, who hit a tie-breaking double in the 10th inning Saturday night to lift the team to a 2-1 victory over the New York Mets, is showing signs of a turnaround to his dismal season. Bellinger is slashing .259/.310/.778 over his past seven games. Fantasy managers should remain patient with the 26-year-old former MVP, who is batting .183 with nine home runs and 29 RBI on the year. He is still capable of posting big numbers down the stretch as part of a potent offense.

Thu Aug 12 202107:07Cody Bellinger Extends Hitting Streak To Seven
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger went 2-for-5 with a pair of two-run home runs in Wednesday's victory versus the Philadelphia Phillies. Bellinger has been having a disappointing season, but he is finally starting to turn the corner and has now hit the ball in seven consecutive games with four homers during that span. Manager Dave Roberts said last week that Bellinger would mostly play against right-handers, but with Bellinger heating up and outfielder Mookie Betts (hip) on the injured list, Bellinger should remain in the lineup for now. Bellinger is now hitting .183 with nine home runs and 28 RBI.

Sun Aug 8 202122:52Cody Bellinger Homers For Second Straight Game
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger went 1-for-4 with a two-run home in Sunday's victory versus the Los Angeles Angels. Manager Dave Roberts said on Saturday that Bellinger would mostly play against right-handers moving forward, but he got the start on Sunday with a lefty on the mound and outfielder Mookie Betts (hip) sitting with a hip injury. Bellinger has now homered in two consecutive games and is now hitting .175 with seven home runs and 24 RBI. Bellinger has been a major disappointment for managers this season, but he should still be rostered in all formats.

Sun Aug 8 202108:29Cody Bellinger Hits Sixth Homer
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's victory versus the Los Angeles Angels. Bellinger's home run would come in the bottom of the seventh inning and it would tie the game 3-3 at the time. Bellinger has been one of the biggest disappointments for managers this season and manager Dave Roberts said on Friday that Bellinger will mainly start only against right-handed pitching. Despite the home run on Saturday, Bellinger has given Roberts no reason to change his stance on playing time. Bellinger is now hitting .173 with six home runs and 22 RBI.

Fri Aug 6 202119:37Cody Bellinger Set To Be A Platoon Player
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said on Friday that outfielder Cody Bellinger's playing time will mostly come against right-handed pitchers the rest of the season. The Dodgers have a ridiculous amount of offensive talent and Bellinger seems to be the odd man at the moment. Bellinger will now become a platoon player and it is a big downfall from where he was entering this season. Bellinger has dealt with plenty of injuries this season and has been dismal at the plate when he has been healthy with a .168 batting average to go along with five home runs and 21 RBI in 179 at-bats. It's hard to drop someone with the history of Bellinger and managers have no choice other than to hope that he can turn his season around when he plays against righties.

Sun Aug 1 202115:24Cody Bellinger Not In Sunday's Lineup
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger isn't in the team's lineup on Sunday as they take on the Arizona Diamondbacks and left-handed starter Caleb Smith. Bellinger is batting .163 with a .263 on-base percentage, five home runs, and two stolen bases in 198 plate appearances this season. Chris Taylor is starting in Bellinger's place in center field and is batting second. There's a good chance Taylor isn't available in your league as a streaming option, but he's an excellent option in daily fantasy play. In 411 plate appearances this season, the 30-year-old is batting .283 with a .375 on-base percentage, 17 home runs, and 10 stolen bases. If you need a streaming option in season-long formats and want to stay in the Dodgers outfield, give A.J. Pollock a look against his former team. In 278 plate appearances this season, the outfielder is hitting .294 with a .349 on-base percentage, 13 home runs, and five stolen bases. He's batting sixth on Sunday.

Thu Jul 29 202109:44Cody Bellinger Hits Fifth Home Run
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Wednesday's victory versus the San Francisco Giants. Bellinger also struck out twice in the contest and that would make it 16 times in 41 games this season that he has K'd two or more times in a game. The home run was nice to see with Bellinger really struggling and hopefully it will help get him going. Bellinger has been a major disappointment this season and is now hitting .165 with five homers and 21 RBI. Bellinger will face Johnny Cueto on Thursday and is 7-for-23 with a home run against the veteran in his career.

Thu Jul 29 202102:14Late-scratch Judge hits tiebreaking single for Yanks in 10th
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Aaron Judge went from being a late scratch to hitting a tiebreaking single in a two-run 10th inning to help the New York Yankees beat the Tampa Bay Rays for the second straight day, 3-1 on Wednesday night. Judge was taken out of the lineup about 30 minutes before the scheduled first pitch. Although no announcement was made about why, the All-Star right fielder struck out in the fifth pinch-hitting for Estevan Florial. Judge returned to the team Tuesday after going on the COVID-19 injured list July 16. New York also had a big night off the field. The Yankees reached a deal to get All-Star slugger Joey Gallo from the Texas Rangers, a person familiar with the trade told The Associated Press. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the move had not yet been announced and was subject to approval of medical records of the players involved. Greg Allen was hit by a pitch from Pete Fairbanks (3-4) leading off the 10th, putting runners on first and second. Judge... [More]

Sun Jul 25 202122:53Red Sox score 5 runs in 8th inning, rally past Yankees 5-4
BOSTON (AP) — Held hitless into the eighth inning by Domingo Germán and looking feeble, Alex Verdugo and the Boston Red Sox suddenly erupted for five runs and stormed past the New York Yankees 5-4 Sunday. Verdugo opened the eighth with a long double for Boston’s first hit. Later, Kiké Hernández slid home headfirst on Xander Bogaerts’ sacrifice fly with the go-ahead run to cap the rally. The Red Sox won for the 10th time in 13 games against the Yankees and reclaimed first place in the AL East, a game ahead of Tampa Bay. New York fell nine games behind Boston. Boston trailed 4-0 when Verdugo doubled to deep right, and Germán was lifted after the hit. Jonathan Loaisiga (7-4) relieved, and Boston broke loose with four straight hits. Thu Jul 15 202111:50Injury-plagued Dodgers keeping close in bid to repeat title
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Dodgers waited 32 years to win the World Series again. The road to a repeat championship is never easy, and they head into the second half of the season hoping the worst of the bumps along the way are behind them. A suspended starting pitcher, injuries and offensive struggles have conspired against them. It’s the first time since 2016 the Dodgers haven’t been in first place at the All-Star break. But they're close. At 56-35, they have the second-most wins in the majors behind the rival San Francisco Giants (57-32). LA trails the first-place Giants by two games in the NL West, a division the Dodgers have won eight consecutive years. “Considering what all we’ve been through, I’d say it’s pretty good,” All-Star first baseman Max Muncy said. “We haven’t played anywhere near the caliber that we are capable of playing.” During one stretch, the Dodgers went 5-15. Injuries have knocked out starters Clayton Kershaw and Dustin May and shortstop Corey Seager, among... [More]
