Sat Dec 14 201309:58Urrutia has chance to start in left field
Steve Melewski of MASN Sports believes that Henry Urrutia has a chance to start in left field for the Orioles in 2014.
The organization remains very high on the 26-year-old Cuban defector after an impressive 2013 campaign. Despite the turmoil revolving around his defection, and adjusting to life in the United States, all he did was slash .347/.406/.506 with nine homers and 50 RBI in 81 games between Double-A Bowie and Triple-A Norfolk, then held his own during a brief 58 at-bat sample with the O's. If he can show in spring training that he can handle the position defensively, there's a strong chance he becomes a regular in the lineup.

Sun Oct 20 201318:12Urrutia off to fast start in Arizona Fall Lg.
Henry Urrutia is off to a blistering start in the Arizona Fall League, hitting .471/.550/.588 with a pair of RBI and a stolen base through his first six games (17 at-bats).
The 26-year-old Cuban defector had an extremely impressive 2013 campaign in the minor leagues, but hit just .276/.276/.310 with two RBI and 11 strikeouts in his brief 58 at-bat audition with the Orioles. He'll compete in spring training to be the O's everyday DH heading into the 2014 season, and could be relevant in fantasy leagues should he secure that gig.

Urrutia batted .269/.269/.308 over 52 at-bats during his brief time with the Orioles earlier this season. He should serve as a reserve outfielder and pinch-hitter and will be competing for a platoon role in 2014.

Urrutia struggled during his brief time with the Orioles, hitting .269/.269/.308 with a pair of RBI and nine strikeouts in 52 at-bats. He'll presumably return to punishing Triple-A pitching as he awaits another opportunity with the big league club.

Sun Jul 21 201300:34Henry Urrutia drives in run in debut
Henry Urrutia went 1-for-4 with an RBI against the Rangers in his major league debut Saturday.
Urrutia had an RBI single as part of the Orioles' four-run third inning. As a left-handed hitter, he'll probably sit Sunday against the Rangers' Martin Perez. He should have some value in AL-only leagues going forward, but we're skeptical that he'll be of much use in mixed leagues.
