Tue Mar 12 201322:37Brandon Bass goes for 10 & 7 in ugly loss
Brandon Bass had 10 points, seven boards, two steals and a block on 4-of-6 shooting in 24 minutes on Tuesday.
He had six points and 13 boards in his previous games and appears to be coming on. He also recently said that he understands the need to be more consistent, and tonight was a good step forward in that regard. The Celtics play four games per week in each of the next three starting on Monday, and might be a sneaky add in deeper leagues if he can keep it going.

Tue Mar 12 201309:36Brandon Bass recognizing need for consistency
Brandon Bass recognizes the need for him to be consistent.
"I've got to be better, as far as being consistent, as far as defending and rebounding," he said. Bass had 13 rebounds against the Thunder, and the Celtics need him to be effective with their lack of big men behind Kevin Garnett. Since the All-Star break, Bass is averaging 7.5 points and 5.4 rebounds on 47.8 percent shooting as opposed to prior to the break when he averaged 7.6 points and 5.0 rebounds on 45.1 percent shooting.

Sun Mar 10 201316:08Brandon Bass grabs 13 boards Sunday
Brandon Bass grabbed 13 boards in Sunday's 91-79 loss to the Thunder, adding six points, one assist, one steal and two blocks in 32 minutes.
Bass hadn't cracked 27 minutes in any of his previous four games and failed to go over eight points or boards in that stretch. The two blocks are a bit of an anomaly and he's not quite worth owning in standard leagues.

Sat Mar 9 201301:59Bass scores eight points with not much else
Brandon Bass scored eight points with two rebounds and one block in 23 minutes on Friday.
Bass hit 4-of-6 shots and owners should have long moved on in 12-14 team formats.

Tue Feb 26 201300:26Bass scores 15 points with two blocks
Brandon Bass scored 15 points with three rebounds and two blocks in Monday's overtime win over the Jazz.
Bass hit 4-of-10 shots in 42 minutes and was his normal mixed bag of mediocre stats for owners in reasonably sized formats.

Sun Feb 3 201316:20Brandon Bass quiet in 30 minutes on Sunday
Brandon Bass finished Sunday's two-point win over the Clippers with nine points, eight rebounds and four assists in 30 minutes.
The assists were a season high and he's been off his game for most of the season, but perhaps unchallenged minutes at PF will give him confidence and a bigger offensive role. He won't give you many assists, steals or blocks, but he's worth a look for low-end points and rebounds with solid percentages.

Fri Feb 1 201316:04Brandon Bass expected to step in as starter
Comcast New England expects Brandon Bass to start at power forward with Jared Sullinger (back) done for the season.
In 33 starts before losing his job to Sullinger, Bass averaged 7.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 0.7 blocks per game. And even during his breakout campaign last season, Bass managed just 12.5 points, 6.2 boards and 0.9 blocks. In other words, there's not a ton of upside here. Even though Jeff Green figures to stick in a bench role, at least he has a slightly more roto-friendly game thanks to his 3-point ability. Look for Green to now push for something closer to 27-29 minutes nightly.

Fri Feb 1 201308:03Brandon Bass frustrated with role this season
Brandon Bass admitted that he's had a "difficult season."
"When you set goals for yourself and you have ways you think you can help the team and you're not helping them at the time, it's frustrating," he said. Bass has seen his playing time drop off from last season, and with Jared Sullinger (back) now in the starting lineup when healthy, Bass will have to adjust. Bass' scoring, rebounding and field goal percentage are all down from where they were last season.

Wed Jan 30 201323:04Brandon Bass plays 38 minutes vs. Kings
Brandon Bass was thrust into action with Jared Sullinger (back) going down and he had 12 points, four boards and three steals in 38 minutes during Wednesday's 99-81 win over the Kings.
Sullinger could miss some time with the injury since back spasms have been an issue before. Although. Bass' value should be viewed more of a short-term boost, so we wouldn't cut anyone important to get him.

Sun Jan 20 201322:18Brandon Bass very quiet in loss to Pistons
Brandon Bass was a non-factor in Sunday's loss, going scoreless with two rebounds in 10 minutes.
Hopefully fantasy owners weren't swayed by his decent game vs. the Bulls on Friday, as that was his first double-digit scoring effort in two weeks. The Celts need rebounding, which they can get from backup PF Jared Sullinger (seven rebounds in 22 minutes), and Bass' role will likely be limited all season.

Sat Jan 5 201322:36Brandon Bass solid all around in 36 minutes
Brandon Bass chipped in across the board in 36 minutes vs. the Hawks, scoring 10 points with four rebounds, two assists, three steals and one block.
Bassy made 5-of-6 field goals and he'd be worth owning if he regularly got this much playing time, but tonight was the exception -- he'd played under 28 minutes in each of the past 11 games. We'll let you know if his role increases and stabilizes.

Sat Jan 5 201304:14Bass starts but doesn't do too much
Brandon Bass started in Friday's blowout win against the Pacers, scoring four points on 1-of-5 shooting with eight rebounds, one steal, and two blocks in 22 minutes.
It's possible he would have seen more time if the game were closer, but we can't say that with any degree of certainty given the timeshare he and Jared Sullinger (seven points, 2-of-7 FGs, 10 rebounds, one block) are in. Neither are rosterable in reasonably-sized formats.

Thu Dec 20 201200:19Brandon Bass struggles off Celtics bench
Brandon Bass came off the bench for the first time since Nov. 9 as Kevin Garnett started at PF with Jason Collins getting the nod at center.
The move didn't work out well for Bass, who hit just 2-of-7 shots for four points and three rebounds, despite playing 27 minutes. Bass's fantasy value had dried up before the benching, as he's averaging just five points and five rebounds over his last five games. You can find a better option on your waiver wire.

Sat Dec 15 201202:45Bass scores two points vs. Rockets
Brandon Bass scored two points on 1-of-3 shooting with four rebounds and one block in 23 minutes on Friday against the Rockets.
With just borderline value in 12-14 team formats, owners should feel free to drop Bass for any average free agent.

Fri Dec 7 201223:37Bass scores two points against the Sixers
Brandon Bass scored two points on 0-for-1 shooting (2-of-2 FTs) with seven rebounds and one block in 23 minutes on Friday against the Sixers.
Bass was benched for Jeff Green (29 minutes, 19 points, eight rebounds) and that hasn't been a typical arrangement, but Green was hot and Bass wasn't so tonight Doc Rivers made the call. Bass had a nice 12-point, eight-rebound outing on Wednesday that included two steals and three blocks, so owners may want to take the long-view here and simply call Bass a borderline forward in 12-team formats.

Wed Dec 5 201223:40Brandon Bass plays well for Celtics
Brandon Bass had 12 points, eight rebounds, two steals and three blocks on 6-of-9 shooting in Wednesday's win.
He had totaled just 10 points and nine rebounds in his previous two games, meaning he's still not the most reliable power forward option in fantasy. But it does appear that he's overtaken Jared Sullinger as the team's primary 4.

Fri Nov 30 201223:31Bass plays 17 minutes in blowout win
Brandon Bass played 17 minutes in Friday's blowout win over the Blazers, scoring six points on 3-of-6 shooting with one rebound and one steal.
There are plenty of reasons that owners can gripe about Bass, but tonight should not be one of them. He's a low-end play in standard formats.

Thu Nov 29 201200:05Brandon Bass scores 16 in 29 minutes
Brandon Bass played 29 minutes in a loss to Brooklyn and had 16 points, three rebounds, and two blocks on Wednesday.
Jared Sullinger played just 14 minutes and had six points and three rebounds. Bass has worked his way back into regular minutes by playing at least 27 in his last four games. He doesn't have much upside and we wouldn't consider him as a must-own player.

Sun Nov 25 201221:42Brandon Bass posts 13 & 12 vs. Magic
Brandon Bass posted 13 points and 12 rebounds in 35 minutes to help the Celtics improve to 8-6 with a win in Orlando on Sunday.
This was Bass' first double-double since opening night, and his 35 minutes marked a season-high, so take this with a grain of salt. That said, he's firmly overtaken rookie Jared Sullinger for the starting PF job and could emerge as a very low-end source of points and rebounds.

Thu Nov 22 201200:09Bass scores 16 points with six boards
Brandon Bass scored 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting with six rebounds, two steals, and one block in 29 minutes on Wednesday.
Bass has been a low-end value in 12-team leagues and this is one of his better recent lines. Give him a look if you need a power forward but don't expect the world.
