Tue Nov 16 201012:25Fesenko dealing with headaches
Jazz C Kyrylo Fesenko missed practice Tuesday due to dizziness and headaches.
Fesenko took an elbow from a teammate Monday night and needed to get stitches. He's averaging just 10 minutes per game off the bench this season.
Mon Nov 15 201022:18Fesenko gets stiches, will return
Kyrylo Fesenko left Monday's game briefly to get four stitches, and he will return to the game shortly.
Earl Watson also got three stitches and will return. Neither situation is a big deal for the Jazz or fantasy owners, and we'll update you if they end up missing more time as the result of it.

Thu Nov 4 201020:18Fesenko, Evans questionable for Friday
Kyrylo Fesenko (stomach) and Jeremy Evans (wrist) are questionable for Friday's game against the Warriors.
Should Fesenko vacate his minutes, Francisco Elson would pick them up.
Wed Nov 3 201020:30Fesenko, Evans out on Wednesday
Kyrylo Fesenko (stomach) and Jeremy Evans (wrist) are out for the Jazz on Wednesday.
No fantasy impacts, but it could mean Johan Petro could see some extra minutes tonight.

Jazz backup C Kyrylo Fesenko is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Raptors due to "gastric distress."

Wed Oct 27 201011:07Fesenko set to play backup center
Kyrylo Fesenko has apparently beaten out Francisco Elson for the backup center job.
Fesenko should get some nightly burn while Mehmet Okur (Achilles) continues his rehab. The 7-foot-1 project averaged 8.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 0.9 blocks in the preseason, showing vast improvement on the offensive end. He still has a very long way to go to be a fantasy factor.

Wed Oct 20 201003:34Fesenko returns from wrist injury
Kyrylo Fesenko is over a wrist injury and had five points in 13 minutes on Tuesday.
He has no fantasy value as of now.
Sun Oct 17 201014:34Fesenko, Elson expect to play Sunday
Kyrylo Fesenko (wrist) said he expects to play in Sunday's exhibition against the Lakers. Francisco Elson (hamstring) is also expected to suit up.
Fesenko missed Saturday's game with the injury. "I guess [he] will probably play," head coach Jerry Sloan said. "Maybe. I don't know. One day I think he's going to play, and the next day he doesn't show up." It doesn't sound as if Sloan is comfortable with Fesenko dictating when he returns, so it's probably in the young center's best interest to come back as soon as possible.

Sat Oct 16 201019:29Fesenko, Elson, D-Will out for Saturday
Kyrylo Fesenko (wrist) and Francisco Elson (hamstring) joined Deron Williams (calf) on the inactive list for Saturday's preseason game.
No surprises here, but surely Jerry Sloan would like to get his frontcourt depth back sooner rather than later. Until then, he will have to extend his starters perhaps a bit more than he would like to in the preseason.

Fri Oct 15 201014:00Fesenko iffy for Saturday
Kyrylo Fesenko (wrist) is questionable to play in Saturday's exhibition vs. the Clippers.
Utah is already without Francisco Elson (strained hamstring) and Mehmet Okur (Achilles), leaving them with virtually no depth behind Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap. Fortunately, both Fesenko and Elson sound like they'll be ready for the season opener.
Fri Oct 15 201000:31Fesenko day-to-day with sprained wrist
Kyrylo Fesenko left Thursday's preseason game after falling to the floor on top of his wrist and did not return.
X-rays came back negative and the Jazz are calling it a sprained wrist and calling him day-to-day. He has been playing well, but means much more to the Jazz than he does to fantasy owners.

Tue Oct 12 201002:05Fez scores team-high 18 points vs. POR
Kyrylo Fesenko scored a team-high 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting with seven rebounds, no assists, and a block in 21 minutes off the bench against the Blazers on Monday.
The Jazz beat writers called him the "story of the game" and he clearly played with more polish and confidence. In fact, Jerry Sloan joked after the game that Fez "couldn't have played 24 minutes" last season, highlighting his improved conditioning. Should Al Jefferson go down to injury this year, we like Fez's chances of stepping up.
Fri Oct 1 201009:04Fesenko comes into camp 25 pounds lighter
Kyrylo Fesenko came into trainign camp 25 pounds lighter (down to 280 pounds), with less body fat and a commitment to take the game more seriously.
All three things are positives for the big man, but he's still got to deal with playing behind Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap, while competing with Mehmet Okur for minutes off the bench. We expect Fes to take a step forward this year, but that doesn't mean he'll be worth owning in fantasy leagues just yet.

Mon Sep 27 201012:39Fesenko officially re-signs w/ Jazz
Kyrylo Fesenko has officially re-signed the Jazz, a one-year qualifying offer worth about $1.1 million.
Utah will need Fesenko's size while Mehmet Okur is rehabbing, but fantasy owners shouldn't get carried away -- he'll be scrapping for backup center minutes with veteran Francisco Elson.

Sun Sep 26 201022:43Fesenko will sign one-year deal w/ Jazz
Kyrylo Fesenko has passed on the Rockets' contract offer and will instead sign a one-year deal with the Jazz.
Houston wouldn't exactly be able to showcase Fesenko, and he's gambling on a bigger payday after another season in Utah. He should see consistent minutes, especially while Mehmet Okur is sidelined, but don't look to him for reliable fantasy value.

Fri Sep 24 201017:37Fez nearing decision between HOU and UTA
Kyrylo Fesenko will likely re-sign with the Jazz if he does not receive an offer from the Rockets by Saturday, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.
This implies that the Cavaliers are no longer in the picture, and thus any chance of deep sleeper status is off the table. In either Houston or Utah, he will come off the bench and look to build off his moderately successful 2009-10 campaign.

Tue Sep 21 201014:45Cavs talking to restricted FA Kyrylo Fesenko
The Cavaliers have been in contract talks with center Kyrylo Fesenko, a restricted free agent with the Jazz.
The Jazz were hoping he would accept their $1 million, one-year qualifying offer, but now they'll likely have to match a multi-year deal from Cleveland. The 7'1", 300-pound Fesenko will likely be a backup wherever he lands, but he'd be an intriguing fantasy sleeper with the Cavs.

Tue Sep 21 201009:37Jazz have an issue with Fesenko
Jazz GM Kevin O'Connor said the team has an "issue" with C Kyrylo Fesenko, who still hasn't accepted his one-year qualifying offer.
Fesenko is really playing hardball here as he tries to squeeze a multi-year deal out of another team. He met with the Rockets last week while the Hornets, Cavs and Warriors have all also shown interest. But the Jazz are apparently the only ones to offer a contract to this point. They could actually use Fesenko with Mehmet Okur (Achilles) out a couple months.

Wed Sep 15 201013:49Fesenko still hoping for two-year deal
Kyrylo Fesenko is still hoping for a two-year deal from the Jazz.
The Jazz have made Fesenko a one-year qualifying offer, but another Western Conference team has reportedly shown interest, which may be complicating things. Either way, we're still guessing that Fesenko will end up playing a backup role for the Jazz this season.
