Tue Mar 12 201323:33Cory Joseph bounces back in blowout loss
Cory Joseph bounced back from Monday's poor game (four points, one assist) on Tuesday with 15 points, two rebounds, three assists, a block and a 3-pointer on 5-of-9 shooting in 26 minutes of a blowout loss to the, gulp, Timberwolves.
Joseph continues to start in place of injured Tony Parker and will have good nights and bad ones. Patty Mills played 24 minutes with eight points and six assists, and Nando De Colo had 13 points, four boards, two assists and a 3-pointer in 20 minutes. The Spurs' point guard position will continue to be a mess, but if you're desperate, Joseph looks like he has the best chance at success simply because he's starting.

Sat Mar 9 201303:08Joseph posts low-end line in blowout loss
Cory Joseph scored 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting (no threes) with three rebounds, three assists and two steals in 26 minutes as the starting point guard once again in the Spurs' 136-106 home loss to the Blazers.
Joseph might have seen a few extra minutes due to the blowout loss, but he's doing just enough right these days to stay on the floor over the group of Patty Mills and Nando De Colo. De facto PG Manu Ginobili had 16 points and just three assists, and while we don't want to overvalue what happens in an outlier contest this will at least keep Joseph on the deep league radar.

Thu Mar 7 201300:01Cory Joseph quiet in another start for Spurs
Cory Joseph started at point guard again on Wednesday but hit just 2-of-5 shots for four points, five rebounds, two assists and a steal in 24 minutes.
Gary Neal never got off the bench and Patty Mills had 13 points, zero assists and three 3-pointers off the bench, hitting 5-of-6 shots in 22 minutes. The reality is that Manu Ginobili is now basically running the point in San Antonio, and had 18 points and nine assists in just 26 minutes tonight. We'd keep ignoring Joseph, Mills and Neal until they show us something more than they have thus far in Tony Parker's extended absence.

Mon Mar 4 201308:05Cory Joseph draws praise from Gregg Popovich
Cory Joseph, who started in place of Tony Parker on Sunday, drew praise from Gregg Popovich following the win over the Pistons.
Joseph isn't a factor when Tony Parker (ankle) is healthy, but Popovich started him on Sunday in order to keep his bench rotation intact. Popovich liked Joseph's defense on Brandon Knight. "I liked his defense," Popovich said. "I liked his aggressive attitude. He's gotten his opportunity, and he seems to be taking advantage of it."

Sun Mar 3 201322:07Cory Joseph quiet in surprise start at PG
Starting at PG for the Spurs on Sunday, Cory Joseph scored eight points with one 3-pointer, four assists and two steals in an easy win vs. the Pistons.
Nando DeColo was generally considered the favorite to start in Tony Parker's absence. Instead, Gregg Popovich inserted Joseph, who was plucked out of the D-League this week and had only started one game in his career before tonight. CJ logged under 18 minutes, however, and he's a shaky source of value with Nando De Colo (13 minutes), Gary Neal (nine minutes) and Patty Mills (16 minutes) all nipping at his heels.

Sun Mar 3 201317:55Cory Joseph will start at point guard Sunday
Cory Joseph will start at point guard for the Spurs against the Pistons on Sunday.
He was just recalled from the D-League on Thursday, so of course Gregg Popovich will make him his starting point guard with Tony Parker (ankle) out of the lineup. The Spurs are likely going to utilize some mutant form of a four-headed monster at point guard with Joseph, Nando De Colo, Patty Mills and Gary Neal, so hopefully some things get cleared up in today's game. No player is a great pickup in standard leagues given how murky this situation is.

Sat Dec 1 201213:20Cory Joseph back to the D-League
The Spurs have sent Cory Joseph back to the D-League.
He picked up 15 minutes in the "substantial sanctions" game against Miami and hit a 3-pointer. There's talk this roster spot could open up to clear the way for Kawhi Leonard (knee). Kawhi should be owned in all leagues while Joseph can be left on the wire in even the deepest leagues.

The Spurs sent Cory Joseph to their D-League squad in Austin.
The second-year guard out of Texas had played in just one game for a grand total of six seconds this season. Needless to say, Joseph shouldn't have been on any fantasy rosters.

Sat Oct 27 201210:13Spurs pick up Cory Joseph's 3rd-year option
The Spurs exercised their third-year option for guard Cory Joseph.
Joseph remains a 'project' player for San Antonio, but this was a low-risk move considering he'll earn $1.1 million in 2013-14. He has zero fantasy appeal while Tony Parker, Gary Neal and Patty Mills are healthy.

Mon Jul 16 201209:07Cory Joseph facing challenging offseason
The Spurs have until October 31 to decide on Cory Joseph's $1.12 million option for the 2013-14 season.
If the option is declined, Joseph will become an unrestricted free agent. A surprise first-round pick in 2011, Joseph spent time between the end of the Spurs bench and the D-League during his rookie season. Viewed as a "long-term project," Joseph should benefit from having a full offseason (summer league, training camp, etc.) before next season begins.

Spurs recalled G Cory Joseph from the Austin Toros of the D-League.
Joseph will function as depth at the end of the bench and nothing more. The rookie needs more seasoning before becoming a regular contributor, but it could be a sign that the Spurs are planning to rest Tony Parker at some point before the regular season ends.

Spurs assigned G Cory Joseph to the Austin Toros of the D-League.
This could mean that the signing of Patty Mills is in the works or it could be completely unrelated. Joseph needs consistent playing time and he wasn't getting it with the Spurs.

Spurs assign G Cory Joseph to the Austin Toros in the D-League.
This is a great sign for Spurs fans, as it means the team is getting healthy. T.J. Ford is back and Manu Ginobili is nearly there, so Joseph is better served getting minutes with the Toros.
