Thu Mar 20 201421:59Matthew Dellavedova double-doubles
Matthew Dellavedova logged the first double-double of his career on Thursday vs. the Thunder with 11 points, 10 assists, four boards, one steal and two 3-pointers in 33 minutes.
In one of the more lopsided defensive matchups,he was matched up against Kevin Durant with Alonzo Gee getting into some early foul trouble. That allowed his minutes to jump up a bit tonight and forced coach Mike Brown to tweak his rotation. Dellavedova does have a 41-minute game on his resume this season, but he's going to have a tough time seeing a big enough role while Jarrett Jack and Dion Waiters are healthy. He's certainly on the radar for owners in deeper leagues looking for a point guard.

Tue Mar 18 201422:28Matthew Dellavedova plays through ankle
Matthew Dellavedova played through an ankle injury on Tuesday and had five points, three rebounds and six assists in 23 minutes.
He doesn't have fantasy value right now, but was a little iffy coming into this one. However, if Dion Waiters ends up missing time with a hip injury, Dellavedova could actually find himself in the starting lineup for the Cavs.

Wed Feb 5 201423:19Matthew Dellavedova runs points down stretch
Matthew Dellavedova handed the point-guard duties down the stretch of Wednesday's loss to the Lakers, finishing with eight points, four boards, five assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 23 minutes.
Kyrie Irving was benched tonight and looked extremely unhappy as the game was coming to an end. Dellavedova has started four games this season, but all four games came at shooting guard. He's not really a guy who is capable of racking up the stats, so he's not worth owning in almost any league.

Sun Jan 5 201420:48Matthew Dellavedova scores 11 points in start
Matthew Dellavedova started at point guard for the banged-up Cavaliers on Sunday, scoring 11 points with two rebounds, two assists, two steals and two 3-pointers in 41 minutes.
It went better than expected and Dellavedova handled a lot of the traps the Pacers threw at him. The Cavs aren't expected to be without Kyrie Irving (knee) and Jarrett Jack (back) for long, so there's little reason to pick up the rookie guard in most leagues unless you're dropping dead weight.

Sat Jan 4 201423:08Matt Dellavedova scores 13 with 4 3-pointers
Matthew Dellavedova played 29 minutes and hit 4-of-7 shots (all 3-pointers) for 13 points, two assists and a steal in Saturday's loss.
He is getting extra run with Kyrie Irving out with a sprained knee, but is only worth a look in deeper leagues, and even then he's an iffy player to own. He had scored a total of four points over his previous four games, making tonight look more like a fluke than anything else, and Irving still has a shot at playing on Sunday.

Sat Nov 23 201323:41Dellavedova scores 14 points in start
Matthew Dellavedova started at shooting guard again on Saturday against the Spurs, scoring 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting (including a three) with two rebounds, two assists and four steals in 34 minutes.
It's hard to say how much run he would have gotten had the score been close, and this result follows a goose egg in 12 minutes on Friday, so there's clearly a ton of risk in using Dellavedova in fantasy leagues. But with the Cavs imploding at an impressive level, it's possible Mike Brown chooses to roll with one of the only guys that cares in Cleveland.

Sat Nov 23 201302:17Matt Dellavedova doesn't score in start
Matthew Dellavedova failed to score in a start on Friday during his 12 minutes of action.
Well, that experiment didn't take long. Dellavedova was torched by Eric Gordon all night and he might not get another chance to start any time soon.

Fri Nov 22 201313:33Matthew Dellavedova to start vs. Pelicans Fri
Matthew Dellavedova will start against the Pelicans on Friday.
Dellavedova earned rave reviews for his defensive play against Bradley Beal on Wednesday, but defense is the keyword here. While the rookie has played 29 minutes per game in the Cavs last two contests, he offers limited offensive potential as he has only averaged 5.5 points and 4.4 boards in those two games.

Thu Nov 21 201304:29Matthew Dellavedova plays well in 27 minutes
Matthew Dellavedova provided a spark off the bench for the Cavs on Wednesday, finishing with nine points, three boards and three 3-pointers in 27 minutes.
He was actually shutting down a red-hot Bradley Beal in the clutch minutes of this game and was a big part of a near comeback along with Kyrie Irving. Dellavedova doesn't really have much of an offensive game, shooting just 35 percent in the regular season and just 26.5 percent in the preseason. C.J. Miles pulled his calf, so some minutes could be up for grabs. For deep-league eyes only, folks.

Mon Nov 18 201309:32Dellavedova leaves Mike Brown 'speechless'
Mike Brown said he was "speechless" after Matthew Dellavedova helped Cleveland beat the Wizards' over the final nine minutes of Saturday's game.
The rookie was thrust into action due to Dion Waiters' somewhat mysterious absence, and he came up huge down the stretch. "He's a tough son of a gun," Brown said after the game. "He does what he does. Offensively, he's just a ball-mover. I've never seen a guy go 1-for-5 from the field and impact the game the way he did." It's nice to see Dellavedova succeeding but he has negligible fantasy value as a reserve guard with a temporary spot in the second unit.

Sun Nov 10 201310:04Cavs sign rookie Matthew Dellavedova
The Cavaliers signed rookie PG Matthew Dellavedova to a partially-guaranteed two-year deal this weekend.
The deal is worth $1.3 million but reportedly only $100k is guaranteed. He has yet to score in two brief appearances this year, but Mike Brown has raved about his leadership and values his presence on the practice court and in the locker room.

Fri Oct 11 201309:25Cavs expected to keep PG Matthew Dellavedova
The Cavaliers are expected to keep training camp invite Matthew Dellavedova on their regular season roster.
Dellavedova is battling for the third PG position and won't have fantasy relevance unless injuries strike. He's made a positive impression throughout training camp and the preseason with his leadership and intangibles, but athleticism isn't his strong suit. "If I were to bet, I'd bet half my salary that I'd get a dunk before he does," said Coach Mike Brown, "and I'm not even playing anymore."
