Mon Apr 11 201123:44Emeka Okafor silent in Monday's loss to Jazz
Emeka Okafor was nowhere to be found on Monday night, logging just five points on 2-of-7 shooting to go along with eight rebounds and a steal.
There's no doubt that this is a rather disappoint effort from the big man for his owners, as the veteran didn't even record a single blocked shot tonight. He has been much better than this of late, and should finish the regular season out better than he showed in this one.

Sun Apr 3 201123:08Okafor has 17 rebounds in win
Emeka Okafor had 14 points, 17 rebounds and one block in Sunday's win over the Pacers.
Okafor has 10 or more rebounds in seven of his last eight games and also has 13 blocks over that span. He's locked into a good groove right now.

Thu Mar 31 201100:40Okafor posts nice line in win
Emeka Okafor had 15 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks in Wednesday's win over the Blazers, helping the Hornets overtake them for the No. 6 seed in the West.
Okafor is an underappreciated center, and while he'll have the occasional off night or mini-slump, he's still a solid fantasy center now that he's fully healthy again.

Fri Mar 25 201101:48Okafor saves the game, otherwise quiet
Emeka Okafor scored 12 points on Thursday--including a last-second tip-in to force overtime--and added six rebounds and one block.
He had posted two consecutive double-doubles before this line, and has blocked a shot in every game since returning from the oblique injury. If he is available on your league, he can give you some boards and blocks, but not much else.

Sun Mar 13 201100:14Okafor suffers extreme case of foul trouble
Emeka Okafor suffered an extreme case of foul trouble in Saturday's win over the Kings, lasting just 19 minutes on his way to five points on 1-of-2 shooting with five rebounds and three blocks.
The blocks save his night, but DeMarcus Cousins got the best of him tonight. If you saw the minute total and got concerned, he just couldn't keep his hands to himself.

Tue Mar 8 201101:45Okafor gets five blocks against the Bulls
Emeka Okafor blocked five shots against the Bulls on Monday, and also added eight points on 3-of-7 shooting with six rebounds and an assist in 30 minutes.
He took a step back after a fairly successful return from his oblique injury, but we're comfortable with owners using him as they normally would after this result.

Wed Mar 2 201100:48Okafor plays just 21 minutes on Tuesday
Emeka Okafor was ineffective in Tuesday's loss to the Raptors, scoring one point with an 0-for-5 shooting mark from the field to go with seven rebounds, a steal, and a block.
He looked fine in the two games since his return from an oblique injury, and Monty Williams was in the 'benching mood' tonight, sending both Okafor and Trevor Ariza to the bench early. While we wouldn't rule out an injury, this appears to be an off-night.

Emeka Okafor (oblique) returned to action on Friday, scoring 10 points on 4-of-10 shooting with seven rebounds, two assists, two steals, and three blocks in 25 minutes.
He looked great in the minutes he played, and with this level of production owners should feel fine putting him back in their lineups.

Emeka Okafor returned to action on Friday February 25.
Fri Feb 25 201114:08Emeka Okafor (oblique) ready to play Friday
Emeka Okafor (strained oblique) will start Friday's game against the Timberwolves.
Okafor, who has been an iron-man in recent seasons, missed 10 straight games due to the injury. The addition of Carl Landry has strengthened the Hornets' frontcourt considerably but shouldn't have a negative impact on Okafor's numbers.

Wed Feb 23 201112:41Emeka Okafor out again on Wednesday
Emeka Okafor will not play on Wednesday, missing his 10th straight game with a strained oblique.
He's now overdue to be back from the injury and remains day-to-day. Keep him benched if you still have that option.

Tue Feb 22 201108:55Okafor practices but listed as questionable
Emeka Okafor (oblique) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Clippers despite practicing on Monday.
Coach Monty Williams said that they will evaluate Okafor after Tuesday's practice before making a decision on his status. Considering the big man is way past his original timetable already, we expect him to play Wednesday. If he practices again on Tuesday, it's a lock.

Thu Feb 17 201110:43Emeka Okafor targeting Wednesday for return
Emeka Okafor (left oblique strain) is expected back right after the All-Star break.
The Hornets have wisely played it safe with Okafor. He was only expected to miss 1-3 weeks and Sunday marks three weeks since he went down. We'd expect the shot-blocker to be at full strength for Wednesday's game against the Clippers.

Tue Feb 15 201122:23Okafor (left oblique strain) out Tuesday
Emeka Okafor (left oblique strain) did not play on Tuesday against the Warriors.
Monty Williams is hoping that Okafor will be able to play in the Hornets' first game back after the All Star break on Feb. 23, but he doesn't sound confident. "We'd like to think so," said Williams. "That's the prayer. We need him back. You really don't understand how important a guy like that is until you don't have him." Aaron Gray will continue to start in his absence.

Fri Feb 11 201110:37Okafor doubtful for Friday, Saturday
As expected, Emeka Okafor is doubtful for the Hornets' games on Friday and Saturday.
The Hornets have given up 100+ points in four consecutive losses, as the loss of Okafor and Trevor Ariza has severely weakened their usually-stingy defense. Okafor may not return until after the All-Star break, so keep him on your benches.

Tue Feb 8 201122:07Okafor (oblique) expected to be out on Wed
Emeka Okafor (left oblique strain) is not expected to play in Wednesday's game against the Nets.
He didn't practice Tuesday and he has admitted that he will probably be out through the All Star break. Owners should consider him out for Wednesday unless a report emerges to suggest otherwise. The Hornets are platooning the linked players in his absence, and none of them should be counted on in fantasy leagues.

Emeka Okafor is listed as day-to-day but is "probably a ways off (from returning)," according to Hornets coach Monty Williams.
Okafor has been an ironman in recent seasons, but even he admitted that he's probably out through the All-Star break. An earlier return wouldn't surprise us much but Okafor obviously belongs on fantasy benches this week.

Wed Feb 2 201110:32Okafor out through All-Star break?
Emeka Okafor (left oblique strain) admitted that he is likely out through the All-Star break.
By resting through All-Star weekend, Okafor will get extra time to heal without missing any games. The Hornets' first game back after the break is Feb. 23, which would be a little more than three weeks after the initial injury. Owners should consider that target date the worst-case scenario.

Tue Feb 1 201110:28Emeka Okafor will be sidelined for 1-3 weeks
Emeka Okafor (left oblique strain) will be out 1-3 weeks.
An MRI on Okafor revealed a Grade 2 strain, snapping his consecutive games played streak at 306. The wide range in the timetable stems from the unpredictable nature of muscle injuries, but we'd expect the hard-working Okafor to be back sooner rather than later. In the meantime, Jason Smith is expected to start at center, but will chop up minutes with David Andersen and D.J. Mbenga. Okafor's averages of 11.1 points, 10.1 rebounds and 1.8 blocks make him worth hanging on to through this injury.

Mon Jan 31 201121:01Emeka Okafor ruled out for Tuesday
Emeka Okafor has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Wizards with a strained oblique muscle.
Okafor was injured in the first half of Sunday's loss and could miss several games with the injury. And unfortunately, the Hornets really don't have many other big-man options, outside of David Andersen and Pops Mensa Bonsu.
