Fri Mar 14 201400:33Wes Johnson plays 30 minutes vs. OKC
Wes Johnson played 30 minutes against the Thunder on Thursday with 10 points, four boards and two 3-pointers.
Nick Young (knee) wasn't ruled out for tonight's game until earlier today and he was doubtful to play back on Wednesday, so he is on the comeback trail. Upon his return, Johnson will likely be the biggest loser in playing time. Still, he's played too well to drop until his stats actually fall off.

Fri Mar 7 201401:33Wes Johnson 1-of-9 in historical loss
Wes Johnson hit just 1-of-9 shots and missed all seven of his 3-point attempts for two points, four rebounds, one assist and four steals in 30 minutes, as the Lakers suffered their worst loss in history on Thursday.
The Clippers won 142-94 for their biggest win ever, while the Lakers suffered their worst loss of all time against their arena mates. Johnson was terrible and it looks as if the Lakers' makeshift lineup has completely quit on Mike D'Antoni. And with Xavier Henry back in the mix for the Lakers, guys like Jordan Farmar, Jodie Meeks, Johnson, Kent Bazemore and Kendall Marshall have all seen their minutes get a little dicey. This game was over shortly after tip off, so there's no need to panic about Johnson, or anyone else. But this was an embarrassing loss for the Lakers and something's going to have to give soon, as D'Antoni has never looked less in control of a team than he does right now.

Sat Mar 1 201401:07Wes Johnson double-doubles in track meet
Wes Johnson scored 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting with 12 rebounds, three assists, one steal and three blocks in Friday's 126-122 win over the Kings.
The box score was full of fun numbers tonight and Johnson wasn't left behind in his 36-minute stint. He's a must-own player right now.

Thu Feb 27 201400:46Wesley Johnson scores 18 points in full line
Wesley Johnson hit four 3-pointers and blocked four shots against the Grizzlies on Wednesday to go with 18 points, five boards and two assists in 38 minutes.
The Lakers had him guard Marc Gasol today and he really showed some of his versatility. Nick Young missing time with his knee injury opens some serious time for Johnson, so he's worth owning in standard leagues until Swaggy P is back to being at full strength.

Tue Feb 25 201422:23Wes Johnson scores 15 points in loss
Wes Johnson hit 6-of-10 shots for 15 points, five rebounds, a steal, a block and two 3-pointers in Tuesday's loss.
Nick Young will miss at least one more game with his knee injury, which directly impacts Johnson in a positive way. It looked like his value was about to die, but Young's return from the injury was short-lived, giving Johnson a little more life. Just don't expect this to last once Young is back and fully healthy.

Mon Feb 24 201400:19Wes Johnson goes bye-bye on Sunday
Wes Johnson was quiet on Sunday night with three points, four boards, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer in 18 minutes.
The return of Nick Young was undoubtedly going to hurt Johnson and that came true tonight. He's looking like someone to drop in most formats.

Sat Feb 22 201410:19Wes Johnson could be in trouble
Wes Johnson struggled against the Celtics on Friday with one point, three boards, one steal and one block in 23 minutes.
Friday was not a good day for Wes' outlook the rest of the way. On top of this massive dud, Nick Young has been cleared to play on Sunday following a knee injury. Considering the Lakers might want to get a look at their young guys and Swaggy P coming back, Johnson looks like a drop after a terrific run.

Thu Feb 20 201402:13Wes Johnson puts up 24 points in 42 minutes
Wes Johnson played 42 minutes against the Rockets on Wednesday with 24 points, seven boards, one assist, two steals and four 3-pointers.
He's playing exceptional ball these days, averaging 16.2 points, 4.0 boards, 1.8 steals and 1.6 triples on 54.1 percent from the field over his last five. Johnson has made it abundantly clear he'll have great value until Nick Young (knee) can return, so he's worth owning in all standard leagues until that happens.

Fri Feb 14 201401:32Wes Johnson struggles in 30 minutes
Wes Johnson scored 19 points against the Thunder on Thursday with one steal and one 3-pointer on 8-of-13 from the field in 42 minutes.
He had the unenviable task of guarding Kevin Durant and he was still able to turn in a nice game on the other side of the court. Johnson has really stepped up since Nick Young (knee) went down, averaging 15.4 points, 4.4 boards, 1.2 blocks, 1.4 steals and 1.6 triples in his last five. Jodie Meeks' (ankle) return will also likely hurt him, but he's worth owning in almost all leagues for his recent surge in points to go with the steals, blocks and treys.

Wed Feb 12 201401:53Wes Johnson bounces back for 15 points
Wes Johnson bounced back on Tuesday with 15 points, six rebounds and a 3-pointer on 7-of-14 shooting in another start for the Lakers.
He had just six points in 30 minutes on Sunday, but looked much better tonight. And despite Sunday's dud, he's averaging 14.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.2 steals, 1.6 blocks and 1.6 3-pointers over his last five games. If he was dropped in your league, pick him up.

Sun Feb 9 201418:11Wes Johnson struggles in 30 minutes
Wes Johnson struggled in his 30 minutes of action on Sunday with six points, four boards, three assists, one steal and one block against the Bulls.
He scored at least 15 points in his three previous games with a total of seven triples, seven blocks and five steals, but couldn't quite keep it going. Johnson should still have plenty of minutes go his way while Nick Young (knee) is out, making him a solid player to own in standard leagues.

Fri Feb 7 201422:40Johnson tears the Sixers apart on Friday
Wes Johnson scored 17 points on 6-of-13 shooting (including two threes) with three rebounds, five steals and three blocks in Friday's win over the Sixers.
Johnson logged 43 minutes and owners should get used to seeing him get heavy run with Nick Young out for at least two weeks and we're calling him week-to-week after that until we hear otherwise. His type of injury just doesn't normally heal in two weeks. Either way, Johnson has played his way into must-own status in all leagues for the chance he's able to add 5-10 mpg over his season average of 27 mpg that has made him a late-round value on the year.

Wed Feb 5 201417:40Wes Johnson will get back in starting lineup
Wes Johnson will start at small forward for the Lakers vs. the Cavs on Wednesday.
It's an expected move from the Lakers with Jodie Meeks (ankle) out for at least two games. Johnson played well on Tuesday with 15 points and should see a heavy dose of minutes. That said, he's been extremely inconsistent all year and is a risky play to say the least, even against Cleveland's weak perimeter defense.

Tue Feb 4 201423:24Wes Johnson plays well on Wednesday
Wes Johnson came off the bench on Wednesday and hit 7-of-16 shots and a 3-pointer for 15 points, nine rebounds and two blocks in 38 minutes.
Johnson benefitted from the loss of starter Jodie Meeks, who left in the first quarter with a sprained right ankle and didn't return. If Meeks is going to miss games, and that seems likely, Johnson should start in his place and make for a sneaky fantasy option in daily leagues.

Sat Feb 1 201402:01Johnson plays 20 minutes in Friday's loss
Wes Johnson started on Friday against the Bobcats but played just 20 minutes, scoring three points on 1-of-5 shooting with five rebounds, one assist and one steal.
Johnson can get things going from a fantasy perspective when everything is going right, but lately everything has been going wrong and the returns of Steve Blake and Jordan Farmar outweigh any potential opportunity should Pau Gasol miss time. It's a fluid situation in L.A. so owners should keep one eye on Johnson, but they can watch that action from the wire in standard formats.

Wed Jan 29 201402:16Wes Johnson grabs 10 rebounds in loss
Wes Johnson started again and had seven points, 10 rebounds, a block and a 3-pointer on 3-of-7 shooting on Tuesday.
Johnson could be starting at small forward for the rest of the season after it was announced that Kobe Bryant will miss at least another month due to his knee injury. And whether or not Kobe plays again this season is up for debate. As for Johnson, he's not exactly killing it right now, averaging just 5.2 points and 4.0 rebounds over his last five games. Despite the fact he's starting, Jodie Meeks and Nick Young are the wingmen to own in L.A.

Mon Jan 27 201417:48Wes Johnson will move back to starting lineup
Wes Johnson will move back into the starting lineup against the Pacers on Tuesday.
It's not a surprise after D'Antoni played the matchup game and lost to the Knicks. Johnson's minutes haven't been over 24 minutes in each of his last five games with averages of 5.4 points, 2.6 boards, 1.0 assists, 0.4 steals and 0.8 triples. Nick Young will move back to the bench, which has been a better role for him and his fantasy value.

Fri Jan 24 201421:58Johnson still being limited by Harris
Wes Johnson's minutes continued to stay in the tank in Friday's loss, as he put up five points on 2-of-7 shooting with three rebounds, two assists and one 3-pointer in 19 minutes.
Johnson has been losing minutes to Manny Harris and Ryan Kelly and it could be Mike D'Antoni's desire to see what he has in these guys, Johnson could be playing badly, or a little bit of both. Either way he's not a must-own player and can easily be dumped onto the wire but just a week or so ago he looked pretty solid.
