Fri Aug 1 201422:00Byrd 1-4 with solo home run in Phillies win over Washington on F...
Byrd was 1-for-4 with a solo home run in the Phillies win over Washington on Friday night.
Byrd's name was mentioned in several trade rumors prior to the deadline but the Phillies didn't make any moves and he will continue to get fairly regular playing time in their outfield. He's now hitting a solid .271 with 21 home runs and 63 RBI so his production is a fantasy asset.
Wed Jul 30 201422:25Heyman: Yankees have talked about Marlon Byrd
Jon Heyman of CBS Sports is hearing the Yankees have talked to the Phillies about Marlon Byrd, but nothing is close at present.
Byrd has been a popular name as the trade deadline approaches, and the Yankees are among the teams that have been linked to the 36-year-old in recent days. Heyman hears the club isn't wild about Byrd's $8 million contract in 2015, though, a possible sticking point for a deal. Byrd is hitting .270/.318/.477 with 20 home runs this season and would no doubt provide a boost to the Bronx Bombers' offense.

Wed Jul 30 201416:01Mariners no longer considering Marlon Byrd
ESPN's Jayson Stark reports that the Mariners are "out" on Marlon Byrd.
Stark says there are "still some legs to rumblings" that the Yankees could go after Byrd, but they're wary of the outfielder's 2016 vesting option. The Royals had also previously been reported as a possible landing spot but no longer appear in the running. The market for the veteran outfield looks to be drying up.

Byrd (foot) is in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets, CSN's Jim Salisbury reports.

Tue Jul 29 201415:38Byrd getting scheduled day off Tuesday
Marlon Byrd is getting a scheduled day off Tuesday.
With the trade deadline looming, it was a bit curious to see Byrd out of the lineup Tuesday, but there's nothing doing yet. Still, there's a decent chance he'll be moved by Thursday.

Tue Jul 29 201414:53Byrd not in Tuesday's lineup vs. Mets
Marlon Byrd is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Mets.
No word on the reason for his absence, but it's noteworthy with Thursday's trade deadline fast approaching. Grady Sizemore will make the start in right field Tuesday.

Mon Jul 28 201422:23Marlon Byrd goes 4-for-5 in loss
Marlon Byrd singled four times in five at-bats Monday versus the Mets.
Byrd has multiple hits in six of his last 10 games, pushing his average back up to .274. His average had been dipping since the beginning of June, but it was coming with more homers (13 last two months, seven first two), so there was little reason for his owners to complain.

Mon Jul 28 201418:51Byrd unlikely to go to Royals or Mariners
FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that Marlon Byrd is "not an option" for the Royals and the Mariners' talks for the outfielder "remain stalled."
Byrd has been connected to both clubs, but the Royals and Mariners are both on his no-trade list. The outfielder has said he'd be willing to waive the clause only if his $8 million option for 2016 is picked up. Byrd has also been linked to the Reds, and ESPN's Jim Bowden said last week that talks between Cincinnati and Philadelphia are ongoing.

Tue Jul 22 201422:15Reds talking to Phillies about Marlon Byrd
ESPN's Jim Bowden reports that the Reds and Phillies "continue trade talks" involving Marlon Byrd.
Byrd has been linked to the Reds, Royals and Mariners this month and he's a good bet to be traded. The veteran outfielder has proved this year that his power outburst in 2013 was no fluke, hitting 19 homers over 98 games. He's making $8 million this season and in 2015 and has an $8 million club/vesting option for 2016.

Marlon Byrd went deep for the 19th time this season, but the Phillies came out on the losing end against the Braves on Sunday, falling 8-2.
Byrd is essentially auditioning for contending teams at this point, with the Phillies out of the playoff picture. He took David Carpenter deep for a solo home run in the ninth inning to make it 8-2. Byrd finished 2-for-4 on the afternoon and is now slashing .266/.318/.484 with 55 RBI. Recent reports have linked Byrd to the Royals, Reds, and Mariners.

Sun Jul 20 201413:17Reds interested in Phillies' Byrd, Bastardo
Jim Salisbury of CSNPhilly.com reports that the Reds are interested in Marlon Byrd and Antonio Bastardo.
Salisbury notes that the Reds have scouted the Phillies recently. Byrd is also drawing interest from the Mariners, though those talks have reportedly stalled and Seattle is also on Byrd's limited no-trade list. Cincinnati is not on the list. Bastardo would give the Reds a second lefty to pair with Manny Parra with Sean Marshall (shoulder) out for the season.

Sun Jul 13 201420:38M's showing serious interest in Marlon Byrd
Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports that the Mariners have had serious discussions with the Phillies about acquiring outfielder Marlon Byrd.
There were reports earlier in the week that the Mariners had scouted the 36-year-old slugger. He's in the first year of a two-year, $16 million contract and has already indicated that he'd be willing to waive his no-trade clause. The Mariners are in desperate need for a right-handed power bat, and Byrd seems like a very logical fit.

Byrd continues to display his newfound power, which could make him an attractive trade option over the next month. He's slashing .271/.324/.497 with 16 home runs and 49 RBI.

Sun Jun 29 201417:01Byrd's 2 homers not enough, ATL sweeps PHI
Marlon Byrd went 2-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs in Sunday's loss to the Braves.
Byrd was the only source of offense for the Phillies, as his second- and fourth-inning home runs off Braves starter Aaron Harang were the only runs his club scored on the afternoon despite banging out 13 hits and walking twice. With the Phillies now 10 games under .500, Byrd may be wearing a new uniform by the end of July. He's slashing .268/.319/.487 with 15 home runs and 48 RBI.
