Solano went 1-for-3 with a run scored Friday against the Diamondbacks while making his second straight start at second base.
Solano is batting just .258/.310/.340 for the year, but he's seen some time in the starting lineup lately thanks to Jordany Veldespin's struggles in the field. The team will continue to mix and match at the keystone until Derek Dietrich (wrist) is ready to return in September.

Solano blasted a two-run home run Tuesday to help the Marlins beat the Cardinals.
Relegated primarily to a bench role as the Marlins search for solutions at second base, Solano took advantage of his starting nod Tuesday, touching up Adam Wainwright for a two-run shot. The long ball was just his second of the season and seventh in 797 career at-bats. Solano may earn some additional playing time following the strong effort, but his .258/.309/.338 slash line over 151 at-bats this year leaves a lot to be desired at the plate.
Tue Jul 22 201422:40Solano reaches base five times in Marlins win
Donovan Solano reached base in all five plate appearances in Tuesday's win over the Braves, drawing a walk, hitting a double, and tallying three singles.
It's the first four-hit game of Solano's career. The Marlins could only bring him around to score once, however. Solano hasn't had much to write home about at the plate otherwise, as his slash line has improved to a still-paltry .261/.309/.322 with one home run and 12 RBI in 126 plate appearances.

Wed Jun 4 201422:48Donovan Solano's homer leads Marlins
Donovan Solano hit his first homer -- a three-run shot off David Price -- to lead the Marlins to a 5-4 win over the Rays on Wednesday.
That had to feel good for Solano, who had been on the roster all year but had come into tonight with just 35 at-bats. The start against Price was his first since April 22, as he had been completely limited to a bench role since the return of Ed Lucas from the DL. Since he'd seemingly be better off playing regularly in the minors, the Marlins will almost surely eventually replace him on the bench with a veteran, whether it's Rafael Furcal or Miguel Tejada.

Thu Mar 27 201416:52Solano will be on Marlins' roster
Donovan Solano will replace Ed Lucas (hand) on the Opening Day roster.
Solano was optioned to the minors earlier in the day Thursday, but he'll rejoin the club now that Ed Lucas is headed to the disabled list with a non-displaced fracture in his left hand. While he could see some playing time with Rafael Furcal also sidelined, he doesn't offer much in the way of fantasy value.

Donovan Solano left Saturday's game against the Tigers after being hit in the helmet by a pitch.
Solano was able to walk off under his own power, so that's at least a good sign. Still, with one more game left in the season it's likely we've seen the last of the second baseman in 2013. Placido Polanco replaced Solano in the game.

Donovan Solano went 3-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI against the Pirates on Tuesday.
Solano knocked three singles on the night, driving in his 17th run in the loss. He's been getting the majority of the starts at second base in recent weeks, but his lack of much offense makes him a non-factor in fantasy leagues outside of NL-only leagues.
