Cuddyer is out of the lineup Sunday against the Braves.
Cuddyer has started eight of the last nine games in left field, but will take a seat in favor of Darrell Ceciliani for the afternoon contest. Cuddyer went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a 7-2 loss to the Diamondbacks on Friday.
Cuddyer has been in and out of the lineup with a neck issue, but has been raking of late, as he now owns a 10-game hitting streak. The power stroke appears to be back as well -- he's homered three times and driven in seven runs in that span. While Cuddyer is not the fantasy asset he once was in Colorado, he's got a steady spot in the middle of the Mets' lineup and should keep picking things up after a slow start to the year.
Thu Jun 4 201518:56Cuddyer (neck) back in lineup Thursday against Diamondbacks
Cuddyer (neck) is back in the lineup Thursday against the Diamondbacks.
Cuddyer missed just one game due to a stiff neck, and he's now back in his usual spot as the starting left fielder. He carries a nine-game hitting streak into Thursday's contest, with two home runs, three doubles and six RBI over that span.

New York Mets outfielder Michael Cuddyer is back in the lineup Thursday against the Arizona Diamondbacks after missing Wednesday's game because of neck stiffness, according to the team's official web site. Cuddyer said he did not expect to be sidelined for an extended period, as he told ESPN New York that he has played through neck issues for most of his career. "It's happened for me for years," Cuddyer said. "Back in the early, early days in Minnesota I would get [neck] stiffness. I don't know if it's certain hotels, certain pillows, certain beds. It sucks to say that, but it's the reality." Cuddyer has struggled this season after signing a two-year, $21 million contract in November, but he has been productive of late, as he is currently riding an eight-game hitting streak, tallying three doubles and two home runs over that span.

Cuddyer is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game due to a stiff neck, Adam Rubin of ESPN.com reports.
Cuddyer's injury does not seem serious, but the extent of his setback is uncertain, so it remains to be seen if he will miss any additional action beyond Wednesday's contest. Darrell Ceciliani will get the start in left field in Cuddyer's place.

Cuddyer went 2-for-4 with his fifth homer and two RBI in Wednesday's win over Philadelphia.
The veteran killed Philadelphia in this three-game series, going 5-for-10 with two homers, five RBI and a 3:3 BB:K. Cuddyer's looking better right now than he has at any point this year, so it may be worth looking into his availability in those leagues where he's been cut to the wire.

Cuddyer went 2-for-4 with a walk and a pair of RBI in Tuesday's win over the Phillies.
He's been looking like a whole new hitter over the last couple days, having gone 3-for-6 with a homer and three walks, but Cuddyer has already given fantasy owners false hope at other points in this season. We didn't expect him to hit upward of .330, as he did in Colorado, nor did we expect a 30-homer pace, but Cuddyer has been roundly disappointing this year. He's sitting on his highest strikeout rate since his rookie season and is hitting the ball on the ground at a career-high rate (56.9 percent entering Tuesday's action). Those aren't good attributes for a middle-of-the-order hitter.
Sat May 23 201512:40Cuddyer out of lineup Saturday
Cuddyer is out of the lineup Saturday, ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports.
He gets a rare day off Saturday after going hitless with one strikeout in Friday's game. Darrell Ceciliani will get the start in left field and is hitting seventh against the Pirates.

Cuddyer got on base all four times up Thursday, knocking three singles and drawing a walk in a 5-1 win over the Cardinals.
He didn't score or knock in any runs, but it's still a positive step for Cuddyer, who's scuffled all year so far. He hasn't come close to providing the power presence the Mets signed him for, which has been a big reason for the team's offensive struggles. The 36-year-old will need to show some more with the bat, lest the Mets go looking for a different answer in left field; there's no way they'll tolerate subpar hitting in combination with Cuddyer's already-subpar fielding all season long.

Cuddyer went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI in the 14-1 drubbing over Milwaukee on Saturday.
This was one of Cuddyer's best games as a Met and he seems to be finding some rhythm hitting safely in eight out of his last ten games.
Sun May 10 201510:37Cuddyer out of lineup Sunday against Phillies
Cuddyer is out of the lineup Sunday against the Phillies.
Cuddyer, who is riding a four-game hit streak, will get a rare day off in favor of Kirk Nieuwenhuis in left field. There's currently no word of an injury, so look for Cuddyer to be available in a pinch-hit situation if needed.

Cuddyer went 2-for-4, including a two-run home run, Wednesday against the Marlins.
Cuddyer entered the game 2-for-28, so he clearly needed something good to happen. Despite his slump, Cuddyer should still be in the lineup close to daily.
Tue Apr 28 201515:58Cuddyer not in lineup Tuesday against Marlins
Cuddyer is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Marlins.
With a mere two hits in his last seven starts (27 at-bats), Cuddyer is now sitting with a disappointing .236/.304/.361 batting line and 20 strikeouts through 19 games. He will get a mental and physical rest Tuesday with Curtis Granderson moving over to right field and Kirk Nieuwenhuis stepping in to play left, but Cuddyer should continue playing close to everyday after signing a $21 million contract in the offseason.
Sun Apr 19 201510:03Cuddyer getting day off Sunday
Cuddyer is getting a day off Sunday, ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports.
Cuddyer should be right be in the lineup Tuesday against Atlanta. The team's off-day Monday gives him an extra day of rest. Cuddyer is being replaced in left field by Kirk Nieuwenhuis.
Thu Apr 16 201522:40Cuddyer 2-4 with two RBI and run Thursday in win over Marlins
Cuddyer went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run Thursday in a win over the Marlins.
He's now hit safely in five straight games, lifting his average from .200 to .297 in the process. Cuddyer's been striking out much more than usual -- Thursday's K made it 14 in 37 at-bats on the season -- but he tends to make much more contact than that.
Wed Apr 15 201515:16Michael Cuddyer: (Hand) In Wednesday's Lineup
Cuddyer (hand) is in the lineup Wednesday, ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports.
He left Tuesday's game after getting hit by a pitch on his left hand, but as expected he will be back in action Wednesday. The Mets could ill-afford to lose another key bat from their lineup with David Wright headed to the DL.
Tue Apr 14 201522:57Michael Cuddyer: (Hand) Expects To Play Wednesday
Cuddyer (hand) said Tuesday night that he doesn't think he'll miss Wednesday's game, the Wall Street Journal's Jared Diamond reports.
Cuddyer, whose X-rays came back negative after being hit on the hand by a pitch Tuesday, said he will have to see how he feels when he wakes up Wednesday, but "as of right now" he didn't expect to miss any time. The Mets could really use his bat in the lineup Wednesday as David Wright (hamstring) appears headed for the DL. If Cuddyer cannot play Wednesday he will likely be replaced by Kirk Nieuwenhuis with a righty, Jerome Williams, on the mound for the Phillies.
Tue Apr 14 201521:06Cuddyer diagnosed with bruised left hand as X-rays were negative
Cuddyer was diagnosed with a bruised left hand as X-rays were negative, ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports.
Cuddyer was hit by a David Buchanan pitch but fortunately appears to have dodged any serious injury. He could miss a game or two, but shouldn't be sidelined much beyond that. Kirk Nieuwenhuis (against righties) and John Mayberry Jr. (against lefties) will play for as long as Cuddyer sits.
