Tue Mar 29 201103:35Giants' Huff hits sixth homer
Aubrey Huff went 2-for-3 and hit his sixth homer Monday as the Giants edged the A's 4-3.
Huff got the start in right field, with Brandon Belt at first base, tonight. It was expected that Belt would be farmed out, but maybe the Giants will go with that alignment regularly while Cody Ross is out.

Sun Mar 20 201118:43Huff stays scorching against Oakland
Aubrey Huff hit his fifth home run of the spring while driving in three runs against the A's on Sunday.
The RBI were his 12th, 13th and 14th. After exceeding all expectations during his first season by the bay in 2010, Huff is looking ready to do it again. Just don't let his hot spring cause you to overvalue him in your draft. His ceiling is 25 home runs and 90 RBI.

Sat Mar 19 201115:14Aubrey Huff to start in left field Sunday
Aubrey Huff will make his first start of the spring in left field Sunday.
With Brandon Belt threaten to win an Opening Day roster spot, the Giants are getting Huff ready for left field just in case. It's still more likely that Belt will begin the year in the minors and Huff will be at first base, but the veteran will have to move to left field sooner rather than later once Belt arrives.

Mon Mar 14 201119:18Huff goes 3-for-3, homers
Aubrey Huff went 3-for-3 with a home run, three RBI and two runs against the Brewers on Monday.
The bomb was his second of the spring, and he's now up to eight RBI. He's an unlikely candidate to match his 2010 triple-crown line of .290/26/86 this season, but you wouldn't know it from his spring. He should remain a worthy own in most mixed leagues.

Wed Mar 9 201118:49Huff homers off Peavy
Aubrey Huff went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and RBI single in the 4-2 win over the White Sox Wednesday.
There wasn't much offense in this one, as the two teams combined for just 11 hits and Huff was one of two players on both teams (Adam Dunn being the other) to record a multi-hit game. Huff, who is now hitting .320 this spring, is slated to be the Giants' first baseman this year but could move to the outfield when Brandon Belt arrives.

Thu Feb 24 201115:39Huff sitting out Friday with sore wrist
Aubrey Huff will sit out Friday's Cactus League opener against the Diamondbacks due to a sore wrist.
No big deal. Huff received treatment Thursday and also took batting practice. He is expected to be in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers.

Tue Nov 23 201012:08Giants re-up with Huff on two-year, $22M deal
Giants re-signed 1B Aubrey Huff to a two-year, $22 million contract with a club option for 2013.
Not a bad deal. Huff, 33, registered a solid .290/.385/.506 batting line with a team-leading 26 home runs in 2010 for the Giants, playing a crucial role in the club's run to the World Series title. He will block first base prospect Brandon Belt for the next two seasons, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Belt, 22, will do well with a little more marinating on the farm and Huff should be able to produce consistent power numbers through at least 2012.
Sat Nov 13 201012:06Report: Huff still hoping to re-sign with SF
According to FOX Sports' Jon Paul Morosi, free agent Aubrey Huff is still hoping to re-sign with the Giants.
The Giants have said retaining Huff is one of their offseason priorities, but it remains to be seen if they'll be able to fit him in their budget after Huff batted .290/.385/.506 with 26 homers in a nice comeback season. San Francisco could have top prospect Brandon Belt ready to take over at first base at some point during the 2011 season. Morosi lists the Rays, Red Sox, Blue Jays, White Sox, Rangers and Athletics as teams that could have interest in Huff.

Fri Nov 5 201016:20Huff, Uribe priorities for Giants
Re-upping with free agents Aubrey Huff and Juan Uribe is a priority for the Giants this offseason.
GM Brian Sabean has already contacted representatives for both players, but Sabean said he can't commit to bringing either back because he doesn't know what the market might hold for them. With prospect Brandon Belt possibly ready to take over at first base sometime in 2011, the Giants might prefer to have Huff back on another one-year deal.

Wed Nov 3 201018:44Huff hoping to return to Giants next season
Impending free agent Aubrey Huff said Wednesday that he is hoping to return to the Giants next season.
The two sides won't be able to work out a deal this week, the only week that the Giants have exclusive negotiating rights, but it remains an option going forward. Huff had a great .290/.385/.506 batting line this year with 26 home runs and 86 RBI in 569 at-bats. Teams are desperate for power and he should find a couple of attractive multi-year offers.

Sun Oct 10 201020:04Giants score twice in ninth, beat Braves 3-2
Aubrey Huff singled in the tying run in the top of the ninth and the Giants got the go-ahead run on a Brooks Conrad error as they came back to beat the Braves 3-2 Sunday and take a 2-1 lead in the NLDS.
The Giants led most of the way, but pinch-hitter Eric Hinske hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth, taking Jonathan Sanchez out of the decision after a masterful performance. It should have been Billy Wagner time in the ninth for Atlanta, but without their closer, the Braves tried to get by with Craig Kimbrel and then Mike Dunn. Travis Ishikawa walked with one out, and the Giants came up with two singles with two outs to tie it. Buster Posey then hit a grounder to second that went right between Conrad's legs, scoring the go-ahead run. Game 4 of the NLDS will be played Monday. With the Giants holding the series lead, we're guessing they'll start Madison Bumgarner, while the Braves counter with Derek Lowe.
Fri Aug 20 201023:23Huff continues to carry the Giants
Aubrey Huff went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer in Friday's win over the Cardinals.
It's Huff's first jack in 17 games, but he still leads the Giants in homers, RBI, runs and walks. Tonight could be the spark he needs to get his awful August turned around. The Giants surely need it as they try to hang on in the Wild Card chase.
Thu Aug 19 201012:57Aubrey Huff switches agents
According to Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com, Aubrey Huff is now represented by Mark Pieper of SFX.
Huff left the ACES agency, headed by Sam Levinson and Seth Levinson, last spring. The 33-year-old is batting .292/.383/.516 with 20 homers and 68 RBI this season and surely hopes to cash in big this winter.

Sat Jul 31 201002:48Giants' Huff hits 20th homer
Aubrey Huff went 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBI as the Giants edged the Dodgers 6-5 on Friday.
The Dodgers scored three in the ninth with closer Brian Wilson unavailable, but the Giants held on while using four pitchers in the inning. Huff's homer was his 20th, and he also collected his 22nd double. With one day remaining, he's hitting .383 with eight homers and 23 RBI this month.
Sat Jul 24 201003:07Giants' Huff homers twice in victory
Aubrey Huff went 3-for-5 with two homers and three RBI as the Giants topped the Diamondbacks 7-4 on Friday night.
Huff's first of two homers off Edwin Jackson snapped an ugly skid, as he had gone 11 straight games without driving in a run. He's still having an exceptional season, though. He has a chance to set new career highs in both homers and RBI with 19 and 57 so far. His high for homers was 34, established in 2003, and his high for RBI was 108, which he establishd with the Orioles two years ago.
Sun Jul 11 201009:09Giants interested in retaining FA-to-be Huff
The Giants are likely to attempt to re-sign Aubrey Huff over the offseason.
Huff has been a pleasant surprise for the Giants this year after signing a one-year, $3 million deal over the offseason. When asked about possibly trading him, GM Brian Sabean said, "I don't know if it would do the organization any good to trade Huff if we were interested in re-signing him." Huff is likely to cool off at some point, but then again we were expecting him to cool off in 2008 and he never did.

Thu Jul 8 201018:00Huff knocks in four as Giants beat Brewers
Aubrey Huff went 2-for-3 with a homer, four RBI and a walk Thursday as the Giants beat the Brewers 9-3.
Albert Pujols, Joey Votto, Adrian Gonzalez and Huff have been the NL's best first basemen this year, yet only one was originally named to the All-Star team. Huff has five homers and 12 RBI already this month, giving him 17 homers and 54 RBI for the year. He currently has exactly as many extra-base hits as strikeouts (39 of each). The only other hitters (minimum 200 AB) with at least as many extra-base hits as strikeouts this season are Dustin Pedroia, Vladimir Guerrero, Victor Martinez and David Eckstein.
Thu Jul 8 201010:27Huff continues to stay hot
Aubrey Huff is 8-for-22 (.364) with four homers and eight RBI over his last five games.
Huff received a day off on Tuesday, but picked up right where he left off by hitting the second of three home runs by the Giants off Chris Narveson in the first inning Wednesday night. He's now batting .291 with 16 homers and 50 RBI, qualifying as one of the best fantasy bargains of the year. He currently ranks seventh in the National League with a .545 slugging percentage and 926 OPS.
Mon Jul 5 201019:35Giants' Huff doubles twice in win
Aubrey Huff went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI versus the Brewers on Monday.
Joey Votto and Adrian Gonzalez have more reason to be upset, but Huff is another "first baseman" having a better season than All-Stars Ryan Howard and Troy Glaus. He's hitting .294/.380/.536 with 49 RBI in 289 at-bats.
Fri Jul 2 201022:58Huff hits two jacks in losing effort
Aubrey Huff provided all the offense for the Giants on Friday night, hitting a solo homer and two-run jack in a 6-3 loss to the Rockies.
After cooling off toward the end of June, Huff is starting July with a bang. He now has 14 homers and 45 RBI and we don't think it's a fluke. Remember, when he last got regular at-bats in Baltimore in 2008, Huff hit 32 homers while hitting .304.
