Tue Jul 31 2012 | 15:26 | Red Sox upgrade bullpen, snag Breslow from AZ |
Red Sox acquired LHP Craig Breslow from the Diamondbacks for OF Scott Podsednik and RHP Matt Albers. |
Breslow has a 2.70 ERA and 42/13 K/BB ratio over 43 1/3 innings this year and is a nice fit for Boston's bullpen as a left-handed specialist. And, of course, the price was right: Podsednik and Albers were spare parts in Boston. The deal also allows Boston to return hard-throwing left-hander Franklin Morales into the rotation, if it so chooses. |
