Sun Aug 11 201309:44Kaman gets (another) fresh start w/ Lakers
Mark Cuban said Chris Kaman's desire to "put the ball on the floor" was problematic last season.
Kaman was frustrated last season by an inconsistent role and limited playing time, but Cuban came to Rick Carlisle's defense in a recent interview. "When Chris would just pick and pop, he was a top-five shooter in the NBA," said Cuban. "[But] Chris had his own way of doing things, and that created some issues. It just didn't work." Kaman barely had fantasy value on a per-36-minute basis last year, but if he stays healthy he should have late-round value as the Lakers' probable starting center.

Fri Jul 12 201317:56Lakers officially sign center Chris Kaman
Lakers officially sign center Chris Kaman to one-year deal worth the full mini-mid-level exception.
Kaman will take over as one of the Lakers' primary big men with Dwight Howard gone. The former one-time All-Star will look to re-establish himself as a legit NBA center and the Lakers get to keep payroll flexibility for next season.

Mon Jul 8 201316:15Chris Kaman agrees to one-year deal w/ Lakers
Chris Kaman and the Lakers have agreed on a one-year deal, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.
The short-term deal makes sense for both sides. Ideally, the 31-year-old Kaman could earn a more lucrative long-term deal next summer by staying healthy and re-establishing himself as a go-to post player. The Lakers get to rent the best available FA center on the market while maintaining ridiculous flexibility for the summer of 2014, when the contracts of Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Metta World Peace, Steve Blake and Jordan Hill all expire.

Sun Jun 30 201323:46Blazers expected to meet w/ FA Chris Kaman
The Blazers are expected to meet with free agent Chris Kaman on Monday.
Sources tell the Oregonian that both sides think it would be a "great fit." The Blazers are believed to covet restricted FAs Tiago Splitter and Nikola Pekovic, but any reasonable offer sheet is expected to be matched Spurs and Wolves, respectively. In a free agent market thin on centers, the injury-prone Kaman could end up being the Blazers' best contingency plan.

Fri Apr 19 201309:28Chris Kaman not available post exit interview
Chris Kaman was not available to the media after his exit interview on Thursday, a possible sign that the meeting did not go well.
This sounds like speculation, but it's worth noting considering it's coming from the Dallas Morning News and Kaman has previously reported frustration several times this season. Kaman is set to be an unrestricted free agent and it would be a shock to see him return to Dallas.

Wed Apr 10 201323:47Chris Kaman falls back to earth in loss
Chris Kaman, who had 26 points, 11 boards and two blocks on Sunday, hit just 1-of-6 shots for two points, eight boards and zero blocks in Wednesday's ugly home loss to Phoenix.
The chances that Kaman was on benches for the 26-point explosion, and in lineups for tonight's dud appear to be pretty high, and we're hoping none of our readers were victims. He simply can't be trusted, regardless of who he's up against. Tonight he was abused by the likes of Luis Scola and the one-legged Jermaine O'Neal.

Thu Apr 4 201323:40Chris Kaman just misses a double-double
Chris Kaman just missed a double-double against the Nuggets on Thursday with 13 points and nine boards, adding two assists and one block in 23 minutes.
After receiving a DNP-CD on Saturday, Kaman played a combined 43 minutes in his last two games. He isn't likely going to receive another DNP-CD while Elton Brand is down and he's someone to think about for owners that are in dire straits in the search for a big man.

Thu Apr 4 201314:54'Frustrated' Chris Kaman will start Thursday
Chris Kaman admitted he's frustrated with his role but says he will start against the Nuggets on Thursday.
Kaman's had a frustrating week. Despite playing 20 minutes Wednesday, Kaman was a DNP-CD in two of the three games before that and played just four minutes in the one game in which he did appear. Kaman can produce when given minutes and good healthy, but those two conditions are too few and far between for him to be anything more than a desperate consideration in deep leagues.

Wed Apr 3 201301:34Chris Kaman comes out of nowhere Tuesday
Chris Kaman played 20 minutes against the Lakers on Tuesday, scoring 14 points with six boards and two steals on 7-of-10 shooting.
He was a DNP-CD in two of his last three games and perhaps the presence of Dwight Howard is what sprung Kaman into action. He's hurt a lot and won't be seeing more than 20 minutes often, so he's only a desperation play in deeper daily leagues on Thursday.

Thu Mar 21 201300:53Chris Kaman scores 14 in loss to Nets
Chris Kaman had 14 points and four rebounds in 21 minutes of Wednesday's loss to the Nets.
He's starting right now and while it's impossible to tell how Rick Carlisle is going to use him from night to night, he's in a three-way timeshare until further notice. None of the Dallas bigs are must-own material, as Elton Brand had four points and five boards in 25 minutes, while Brandan Wright was quiet with nine points and three rebounds in just 12 minutes.

Tue Mar 19 201300:14Kaman leads the Dallas big man crew
Chris Kaman started on Monday and finished with 14 points on 7-of-11 shooting with seven rebounds, one steal and one block in 21 minutes on Monday.
Both Kaman and Brandan Wright (12 points, eight boards, one steal, 21 minutes) were able to get loose in this mildly contested game against the Hawks, while Elton Brand (four points, three rebounds, 13 minutes) was the odd man out. This is a good night for the rotating timeshare, so needless to say they can be ignored because the bad nights are deal-killers.

Sun Mar 17 201322:24Chris Kaman poor in limited minutes off bench
Chris Kaman dropped out of the Mavericks' starting lineup on Sunday, coming off the bench for just two points in five minutes.
Kaman had an atrocious run as the starting center, including Friday's game in which he was benched early and played just six minutes. Cut him if you haven't already.

Thu Mar 14 201315:07Kaman still upset about Tuesday's benching
Rick Carlisle benched Chris Kaman after two minutes on Tuesday because he though the Bucks' big men were too quick for Kaman.
Carlisle has since apologized to Kaman, but the Mavs' veteran big man reiterated on Thursday that having such a small role "hurts you mentally ... Am I that bad that I play two minutes against a .500-level team in the eighth spot in the East?" Brandan Wright wound up playing most of the minutes at center vs. the Bucks, notching nine points, eight rebounds and three blocks in 33 minutes.

Wed Mar 13 201310:20Chris Kaman frustrated with his playing time
Chris Kaman admitted to being frustrated with his playing time.
Kaman played two minutes before being taken out of the game, and he hasn't really been a factor for Dallas at all this season after signing a one-year deal worth more than $8 million. "For me to not even be able to get into a game is pretty disappointing," he said. We don't expect Kaman to return to the Mavs after this season.

Tue Mar 12 201323:25Chris Kaman gets two minutes in start
Chris Kaman didn't score in his two minutes of action against the Bucks on Tuesday.
He played 16 and 15 minutes in his previous two games, but Kaman's minutes have been sporadic for most of the second half. There's no reason to own him and he's in a timeshare with Brandan Wright (nine points, eight boards, one assist and three blocks in 33 minutes) even on a good day. On the other hand, Wright is worth a look in some deeper formats.

Thu Mar 7 201316:12Chris Kaman benched Wednesday against Rockets
Chris Kaman received a DNP-CD against the Rockets on Wednesday.
Kaman, who had made three straight starts, was replaced in the lineup by Brandan Wright and never left the bench Wednesday night against Houston. At this point, it's almost impossible to tell what coach Rick Carlisle is going to do Kaman, which seriously undermines his value. In standard leagues, it might finally be time to look elsewhere for your needs at center.

Sun Mar 3 201321:45Chris Kaman plays 13 minutes in start at C
Chris Kaman made his fourth straight start at center on Sunday, but he played just 13 minutes before being benched.
The Mavericks' center spot has been a merry-go-round all season, though fantasy owners wish Rick Carlisle would finally stop the ride. Playing time was spread particularly thin tonight -- Brandon Wright and Elton Brand each played 17 minutes, while Bernard James played nine minutes off the end of the bench.

Sat Mar 2 201301:51Kaman plays 23 minutes against the Nets
Chris Kaman played 23 minutes on Friday against the Nets, scoring eight points on 4-of-8 shooting with four rebounds, one steal and three blocks.
Kaman isn't going to give owners a lot of piece of mind, but now that he has taken on a starting role and looks to be getting back on track he's well worth a look.

Fri Mar 1 201318:54Chris Kaman starting again
Chris Kaman will start once again in Friday's game against the Nets.
After taking some DNP-CDs and missing a ton of time with a concussion, Kaman appears to be back in the coaching staff's good graces. Expect 20-25 minutes of low-end production.
