Thu Mar 20 201415:48Chris Kaman (foot) ruled out for Friday
Chris Kaman (foot) has already been ruled out for Friday's game.
The Lakers weren't able to trade Kaman prior to the deadline and it doesn't seem likely that he'll join the rotation even if he does overcome the back and foot injuries which have plagued him for weeks.

Thu Mar 20 201402:05Chris Kaman dealing with sore foot
Chris Kaman didn't play on Wednesday and is dealing with a sore foot, according to coach Mike D'Antoni.
Kaman hasn't seen the court in seven games, and while his foot injury is a convenient excuse, it doesn't appear that Mike D has any interest in playing him even when he's healthy.

Sat Mar 1 201401:08Kaman (back) plays on Friday vs. Kings
Chris Kaman (back) played four minutes on Friday against the Kings.
Kaman and the rest of the big men not named Gasol are currently of no use to Mike D'Antoni and should all be waiver wire fodder.

Fri Feb 28 201413:54Chris Kaman considered probable
Chris Kaman (back) is probable for Friday's game against the Kings.
Kaman sat out Wednesday to rest his nagging back issues. He'll be back in a plus matchup against the Kings, but Mike D'Antoni only plays one big at a time. So with Pau Gasol looking very healthy, Kaman can't expect anything more than 18-22 minutes.

Wed Feb 26 201421:00Chris Kaman (back) out on Wednesday night
Chris Kaman (back) will not play against the Grizzlies on Wednesday night.
He's dealt with back issues for much of the season and this injury sounds more like a day-to-day problem. Kaman is just the backup to Pau Gasol and has no fantasy value. Robert Sacre and Jordan Hill could pick up a few minutes each.

Mon Feb 24 201400:55Chris Kaman scores eight points vs. Nets
Chris Kaman scored eight points with four boards and two turnovers in 19 minutes during Sunday's 108-102 loss to Brooklyn.
This was the second game in a row he was strictly Pau Gasol's backup and it looks like coach Mike D'Antoni may have figured out that part of his rotation. We know. We're surprised, too. Anyway, Kaman can be let go in most formats while Gasol is healthy.

Sat Feb 22 201410:22Chris Kaman scores 16 points in 26 minutes
Chris Kaman shot 7-of-9 for 16 points during Friday's 101-92 win over the Celtics with eight boards and three assists in 26 minutes.
He saw all of the backup minutes at center tonight and looked great, especially on the offensive side. Pau Gasol is not at 100 percent and just played 22 minutes, so it's not going to be easy for Kaman to duplicate lines like this one. If you want to hold out hope Kaman can keep it going and hold him on your roster, but it's more than likely his value is going to start taking a hit as Gasol gets his legs back.

Thu Feb 20 201415:06No dice: Lakers keep Kaman, Hill and Gasol
The Lakers were unable to trade away Chris Kaman, Jordan Hill or Pau Gasol at Thursday's deadline.
The team was reportedly trying to dump some salary to cut down on their luxury tax, but could not get anything done. Kaman should still be able to hold some fantasy value while Pau Gasol's groin injury heals.

Thu Feb 20 201414:47Report: Sixers going after Chris Kaman
The Sixers are in discussions with the Lakers to acquire Chris Kaman.
The Lakers are doing anything they can to dump Chris Kaman's contract and will take whatever the Sixers are willing to give. The team has a slew of second-round picks and players that would not belong in most rotations, so it's hard to imagine what the Sixers would give up to get his expiring deal and get above the league salary floor. For what it's worth, a move to Philly would be great for Kaman's value, making him a solid add in all standard leagues.

Thu Feb 20 201402:21The Caveman gets Dwight treatment
Chris Kaman scored nine points with four boards, two assists and one block in 22 minutes against the Rockets on Wednesday.
He was whipped inside by Dwight Howard tonight and he'll want to forget this game. Kaman has played well enough for his owners to cut him some slack, but a trade on Thursday could potentially hurt his value. If his owners spot an irresistible free agent out there, Kaman is a player to consider swapping out.

Wed Feb 19 201419:28Hawks in the mix for Kaman and Hill
The Hawks have had discussions with the Lakers to acquire Jordan Hill or Chris Kaman.
This move makes the most sense of any Hill or Kaman rumor to date. The Hawks definitely need a big man and have just one healthy center for Wednesday's game. Kaman should still be owned in most leagues while he's going strong and a move to the Hawks might help his value for much of the season. Of course, he'll have to stay healthy.

Tue Feb 18 201412:26Cavs ask about Chris Kaman, but talks stall
The Cavaliers inquired about trading for Chris Kaman but the talks have "stalled," according to the Akron Beacon-Journal.
This is more of a report than a mere rumor, and although the talks didn't go anywhere they at least give some insight into Cleveland's thinking -- acquiring a backup big man on an expiring contract makes sense as they vie for a playoff spot, especially with Anderson Varejao's back still ailing. The Cavs also reportedly have interest in Kings big man Jason Thompson, who could be a target if Jarrett Jack is dealt to Sacramento.

Fri Feb 14 201401:27Chris Kaman puts up another dub-dub
Chris Kaman played 35 minutes against the Thunder on Thursday with 19 points, 10 boards, six assists and one block on 7-of-13 from the field.
Tonight was his third consecutive double-double and he's done it in style. In that span, Kaman averaged 23.7 points, 11.3 boards, 4.3 assists and 2.0 blocks. There are the obvious concerns about his durability and Pau Gasol's eventual return would certainly end his run for the most part, but he has to be owned in all leagues.

Wed Feb 12 201401:58Chris Kaman starts, drops 25-14-3 in loss
Chris Kaman started at center on Tuesday and hit 11-of-24 shots for 25 points, 14 rebounds, four assists, a steal and three blocks in Tuesday's loss.
Kaman was a daily-league goldmine tonight and had 27 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks on Sunday while coming off the bench. He's hot and the best big man on the Lakers right now, at least until Pau Gasol gets back. He looks like a must-start against the Thunder on Thursday. Jordan Hill had seven points and one rebound in 17 minutes, former starter Robert Sacre had four points, three rebounds and a block in just nine minutes, and Ryan Kelly had three points, one rebound and one block in 18 minutes tonight. Kaman is the guy you want to own of this crew.

Tue Feb 11 201414:10Chris Kaman starts Tuesday, Sacre to bench
Chris Kaman will start at center vs. Utah on Tuesday, sending Robert Sacre to the bench.
Mike D'Antoni has been loathe to use Kaman this season, citing his defensive limitations, but Kaman's 27 points and 10 rebounds on Sunday may have tipped the scales in his favor. He has three consecutive double-digit scoring games and should be worth deploying with Pau Gasol (groin) out for the final two games before the All-Star break on Tuesday and Thursday.

Tue Feb 11 201409:21D'Antoni won't play Kaman and Pau together
Coach Mike D'Antoni said he has no intention of playing Chris Kaman and Pau Gasol (week-to-week, groin) together.
Kaman's 27/10/3 explosion on Sunday isn't going to change D'Antoni's system, which only has room for one true big at a time. "That's the structure of the team," D'Antoni said. "When Pau comes back, it's tough." But before Gasol comes back, it would be criminal for Robert Sacre to see more minutes than Kaman. No matter who starts against the Jazz Tuesday night, we'd expect Kaman to see more minutes. He's a short term plug-n-play candidate only.

Sun Feb 9 201418:12Chris Kaman explodes for 27 and 10 in loss
Chris Kaman scored a season-high 27 points against the Bulls on Sunday with 10 boards, three assists and two blocks in 28 minutes.
He took over late in the game as the go-to option for the Lakers in the paint, shooting 13-of-23 from the field. Kaman was even handling the ball in transition and in the high post in a Pau Gasol-type role to help bring his team back and make the game close. He was out of the rotation earlier this season and he's dealt with a slew of injuries, but it's not a bad idea to give him a look as a big man in all leagues, assuming you're not cutting a player you've been relying on.

Fri Feb 7 201422:19Kaman goes for 17 and eight vs. Sixers
Chris Kaman scored 17 points on 7-of-14 shooting with eight rebounds, three assists, one steal and three blocks in 25 minutes off the bench on Friday against the Sixers.
Kaman can put up scoring numbers in a hurry but owners have to put an asterisk on the result against the woeful Sixers. The minute distribution between Robert Sacre (23 minutes), Jordan Hill (20 minutes) and Kaman probably isn't all that far-fetched, though Kaman has been all over the board this season. He's worth a look if you need a big man while Pau Gasol is out, with Gasol also being a candidate to be traded.

Wed Feb 5 201422:19Chris Kaman scores 13 before fouling out
Chris Kaman scored 13 points with three boards and one assists in 14 minutes on Wednesday vs. Cleveland.
He fouled out in this game after committing five fouls in his return on Tuesday night. The Lakers are going to need Kaman off the bench with their team becoming a M.A.S.H. unit, so he's worth a look in deeper leagues.

Tue Feb 4 201423:30Chris Kaman scores nine off Lakers bench
Chris Kaman played 17 minutes and had nine points, three rebounds, a steal, a block, four turnovers and five fouls in Tuesday's loss.
Jordan Hill exited early with a head and cervical injury, while Robert Sacre is starting. This was Kaman's first appearance since Jan. 17 and it would not be surprising to see him start getting regular run with Hill and Pau Gasol (groin) out. But if you choose to roll the dice on him, expect to see a few good games surrounded by plenty of bad ones for Kaman.
