Fri Jan 27 201213:00Ben Gordon has 'a couple tears' in shoulder
Ben Gordon's (shoulder) MRI revealed "multiple issues" and "a couple tears" in his shoulder.
Yikes. Gordon said that he originally banged up his shoulder in training camp and had been attempting to play through it. He also added it was hard to raise his arms before getting an MRI, and it's a little concerning the Pistons would've let him play through such an injury for so long before sending him for an MRI. Although he can now raise his arms without pain, doctors have put no timetable on his return and we're calling him out indefinitely. Rodney Stuckey will continue to start at shooting guard for the foreseeable future.

Wed Jan 25 201212:08Ben Gordon will not play on Thursday night
Ben Gordon (shoulder) will not play on Thursday.
Gordon has missed the last two games and Wednesday will mark his third straight contest that he's sat out. Rodney Stuckey will continue to start in his place, and both he and Brandon Knight are ticketed for major minutes as long as the game isn't a blowout early.

Mon Jan 23 201209:38Ben Gordon bothered by nagging shoulder
Ben Gordon (sore left shoulder) was an unexpected scratch on Saturday, but his shoulder has been bothering him for a few weeks.
Gordon is day-to-day going forward, but the bigger concern is that the injury will continue to linger -- it wouldn't be the first time. With both Gordon and Rodney Stuckey (knee) battling nagging ailments, Brandon Knight is even more essential for the quasi-rebuilding Pistons.

Sat Jan 21 201219:27Ben Gordon out w/ sore shoulder on Saturday
Ben Gordon will not play on Saturday due to a sore left shoulder.
Gordon was spotted rubbing his shoulder during Detroit's game on Friday, but surely many owners got burned as there was no warning that he would be a DNP. Rodney Stuckey moves into the starting lineup for the Pistons, whose lousy offense just got even worse.

Sat Jan 21 201201:08Ben Gordon dealing with shoulder injury
Ben Gordon scored 10 points on 3-of-6 shooting (including two threes) with one rebound, one assist, and three more turnovers on Friday against the Grizzlies.
Gordon also was seen rubbing his right shoulder throughout the game, and we wouldn't be surprised to see it hit the injury report. We're going to assume he's healthy enough to play, however, until that happens.

Wed Jan 18 201200:20Ben Gordon scores 18 in Pistons loss
Ben Gordon had 18 points, two rebounds, two assists, three steals, two blocks and a 3-pointer on 7-of-15 shooting in 40 minutes of Tuesday's loss to the Rockets.
Gordon has averaged nearly 16 points over his last three games and the big minutes were encouraging tonight. He's also contributing across the board and is shooting it well. He's been highly disappointing for two years now, but if there was ever a time it felt like he was on the verge of bouncing back, it's right now.

Sun Jan 15 201220:46Ben Gordon improves assist-to-turnover ratio
Ben Gordon had six assists and just one turnover vs. Golden State on Sunday, while scoring 15 points with three 3-pointers.
Gordon's tied his season-high in assists, which would be tolerable if he didn't turn the ball over a career-high 3.5 times per game. He seems to be settling down in recent games, but we're predicting a season full of inconsistency.

Fri Jan 13 201222:53Gordon infuriating, but showed well in box
Ben Gordon scored 14 points on 5-of-11 shooting (including a three) with six rebounds, five assists, four turnovers, and a block in 29 minutes on Friday.
Gordon has drawn the ire of beat writers for his decision-making and attitude on the court, and despite the nice box score, the same could be said tonight. Gordon is a borderline player to own in 12-team, 8-cat leagues right now. In 12-team, 9-cat leagues he should not be owned. Rodney Stuckey returning to full health is not going to help Gordon.

Fri Jan 13 201201:09Gordon goes 3-of-14 from the field vs. MIL
Ben Gordon hit just 3-of-14 shots from the field (no threes) for nine points with one rebound and four assists in 40 minutes on Thursday.
Whereas local beat writers were pleased with his play early in the season, now they're riding him hard for his attitude, body language, and lack of effort. He had a personal absence last Saturday and his recent slowdown sounds like a problem between the ears. Feel free to drop him for a hot free agent, especially now that Rodney Stuckey is back.

Tue Jan 10 201202:05Gordon improves slightly against Bulls
Ben Gordon scored 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting (no threes) with no rebounds, four assists, and four turnovers in his old Chicago stomping grounds on Monday.
He played 27 foul-plagued minutes and this qualifies as a bounce-back game following his nine-turnover outing on Saturday. Gordon's lack of versatility makes him a low-end value in 8-cat leagues, though his 3.8 turnovers per game make him not worth owning in 9-cat. If you want to drop Gordon for a hot free agent we won't throw a shoe at you, but we'd tend to think he resumes his low-end production in those 8-cat formats.

Sat Jan 7 201223:01Ben Gordon coughs up nine TOs in return
Ben Gordon (personal) returned to action on Saturday, but scored just 12 points with a whopping nine turnovers in 32 minutes.
Yikes. Gordon made two 3-pointers but the turnovers are becoming a trend -- he was coughing up 2.8 per game before this ugly line, which is the second-highest TO rate of his career. His fantasy value is pegged to points and 3s, so hopefully he'll start to improve his 41.3% shooting.

Sat Jan 7 201218:41Ben Gordon (personal) starting for Pistons
Ben Gordon (personal) is active and will start for the Pistons on Saturday.
Gordon's all-around production isn't too enticing, but he's averaging 16.2 points and 1.5 threes on the season. That's good enough for a spot on most fantasy rosters, but on a busy night in the NBA (10 games) he may not make the cut for your active lineup.

Fri Jan 6 201212:29Ben Gordon (personal) ruled out for Friday
Ben Gordon (personal) will miss Friday's game against the Sixers.
No word on what the personal issue Gordon is dealing with, but he won't play on Friday. Austin Daye will join the starting unit with Gordon on the sidelines and gets a major chance to prove he belongs in the rotation on a consistent basis.

Thu Jan 5 201200:10Ben Gordon's shot disappears Wednesday
Ben Gordon hit just 2-of-10 shots for seven points on Wednesday.
He had 26 points, two 3s and six assists on Monday, but couldn't find his shot tonight. Rodney Stuckey left with a groin injury and Gordon could see some extra touches and minutes if Stuckey will miss any time.

Sat Dec 31 201120:56Ben Gordon scores 16 in Pistons win
Ben Gordon made another start at SG on Saturday and had 16 points, four assists, a steal and two 3-pointers on 6-of-12 shooting in a win over the Pacers.
Gordon has yet to fully breakout but is showing signs of life this season. He's still not a must-own player, but he should be monitored closely by owners in all fantasy leagues.

Sat Dec 31 201101:39Gordon plays well, quiet in box score
Ben Gordon scored nine points on 4-of-10 shooting (no threes) with three rebounds and five assists in 29 minutes on Friday.
There were multiple reports that he was playing well, and that should give owners cause to withhold their concern for one game. Coming off a 25-point outing and starting, Gordon is still worth owning in 12-team leagues.

Tue Dec 27 201107:15Ben Gordon playing without any confidence?
Ben Gordon admitted that his confidence is lacking.
"Yeah, it looked like me, but I was out of sorts, I wasn't playing with confidence," Gordon said. His struggles since joining Detroit are certainly not a secret, and he's going to have to get the mental aspect of his attack back before he can get it going again. The good news is that Lawrence Frank appears committed to playing him, so owners should expect him to turn in better performances than Monday's 14 points and five turnovers.

Mon Dec 26 201121:40Gordon starts, struggles for Pistons
Ben Gordon hit just 4-of-14 shots and a 3-pointer for 14 points and five turnovers in Monday's loss to the Pacers.
The good news is that he's starting and could be set to return to form this season, but that wasn't the case tonight. As long as he's getting run he's worth hanging onto, but we may not know for a couple weeks if he's going to get it turned around this year in Detroit.

Mon Dec 26 201113:01Ben Gordon to start at SG on Monday
Ben Gordon will start at SG during the Pistons' season opener on Monday.
Gordon has been lousy since joining the Pistons in 2009, as his scoring fell from 20+ ppg to just over 11 ppg last year. The departure of Rip Hamilton has clarified the backcourt, however, and a starting job could be just the thing to jumpstart Gordon, whose ability to score and hit 3s has never been questioned. He shouldn't be on any waiver wires and could return nice value for owners who took him with a late-round pick.
