Wed Feb 9 201101:50Gordon starts again, struggles again vs. SA
Ben Gordon started again against the Spurs on Tuesday, but managed just eight points on 4-of-13 shooting (no threes) with one rebound, no assists, and one steal in 23 minutes.
He had a nice five-game stretch in which he scored 15 or more points every game, including a season-high 35 points on Jan. 30, but has now scored 12 or less in his last three. That's not the right side of the ledger to be on when Rodney Stuckey comes marching back into town.
Sun Feb 6 201102:13Gordon to deal with threat of Hamilton
Ben Gordon started again with Rodney Stuckey (shoulder) out on Saturday, and scored 12 points on 3-of-7 shooting with two rebounds and one assist in 28 minutes.
Owners are going to point out the return of Richard Hamilton tonight, and while it certainly affected his minutes, nobody truly knows if Hamilton will continue to get run. More consequential has been Gordon's lukewarm performance with Stuckey out, and when you add it all up, we wouldn't blame you for dropping him for a hot free agent. Seeing how it plays out, though, is also advisable.
Sat Feb 5 201101:14Gordon scores 11 points in another start
Ben Gordon got another start with Rodney Stuckey (shoulder) out on Friday, and scored 11 points on 3-of-9 shooting (including a three) with two rebounds, four assists, and two steals in 36 minutes.
He was much better in his 20-point game on Wednesday, and the real moment of truth will come when Stuckey returns. If Stuckey returns to start at SG the inconsistency will Gordon might make him too unbearable to own, but owners would be wise to wait and see how things play out.
Thu Feb 3 201100:32Ben Gordon scores 20 in another start
Ben Gordon started again on Wednesday and had 20 points, four assists and three 3-pointers on 8-of-18 shooting.
It remains to be seen what his role will be once Rodney Stuckey returns from his shoulder injury, but if he returns to the bench as we expect, he's likely to be an inconsistent scorer.
Sun Jan 30 201122:11Ben Gordon scores season-high 35 for Pistons
Ben Gordon scored a season-high 35 points to lead the Pistons in Sunday's loss in New York, draining 12-of-21 FGs, including an impressive 7-of-11 from downtown.
Don't look now, but BG has 20+ points in back-to-back games for the first time since early November, and hadn't scored this many points since April of last year. Of course, his appeal is dimmed by the imminent return of Rodney Stuckey (shoulder) as well as the unresolved Rip Hamilton issue. This is probably a sell-high moment, but at least he's finally giving his owners some value.
Fri Jan 28 201123:49Ben Gordon starts, scores 21 in loss
Ben Gordon started in place of injured Rodney Stuckey (shoulder) and hit 8-of-16 shots for 21 points and three 3-pointers in Friday's tough loss to the Heat.
This could be the break he's been waiting for, but John Kuester still doesn't run enough plays for him on most nights. If you want to pick him up, he could stay hot, while Stuckey could miss several more games with his injury.
Wed Jan 26 201123:39Ben Gordon scores 15 points in loss
Ben Gordon had 15 points and a 3-pointer on 4-of-10 shooting Wednesday.
Rodney Stuckey left this game with a painful shoulder injury and if he misses time, Gordon is going to see a boost in minutes. He could even start, although Will Bynum could get the call from John Kuester after going off for 19 points tonight. Either way, Gordon should benefit if Stuckey is going to miss some games.
Wed Jan 19 201123:50Ben Gordon struggles again for Pistons
Ben Gordon, who has cooled off over the last two games, had just 10 points on 4-of-10 shots.
Gordon appeared to be on the verge of breaking out, but that has been put on hold. He's probably worth owning, but still isn't an automatic start for fantasy owners.
Wed Jan 12 201123:39Gordon catches fire late for Pistons
Ben Gordon, who has been benched for the Pistons, struggled in the first half, but caught fire late to hit 8-of-17 shots and four 3-pointers on his way to 25 points and four assists in a loss to the Grizzlies.
Rip Hamilton didn't even get off the bench tonight (coach's decision), which could be a trend more than a fluke. And that would mean Gordon is going to get more minutes. He also tends to play better off the bench than as a starter, so now could be a great time to pick him up. He's struggled for two years in Detroit, but is worth another look now.
Mon Jan 10 201123:03Gordon could benefit from Melo trade
Ben Gordon scored just five points on 2-of-10 shooting (no threes) with four rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block in 26 minutes on Monday.
He's doing his part to keep his value low, but if Richard Hamilton heads to New Jersey in the Carmelo Anthony trade he becomes a good bet to get starter's minutes. He needs to be owned as a roster stash right now.
Wed Jan 5 201103:50Gordon scores just five points on Tuesday
Ben Gordon scored just five points on 2-of-6 shooting (no threes) with two rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 22 minutes of action on Tuesday against the Lakers.
You know the drill by now with Gordon. Stash him on your bench and hope he gets freed by the NBA trade deadline. The fact that he starts and has the potential of producing for your fantasy squad is the only thing keeping him owned, however.
Tue Jan 4 201102:37Gordon scores 14 points, still sits at times
Ben Gordon started and scored 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting (including three treys) with three rebounds, two assists, and a block, but still found himself on the bench when the Pistons needed a key three late.
He logged 24 minutes total, and we still like owning him as long as he is starting, but this pretty much sums up his fantasy appeal and John Kuester's coaching ability all in one sentence.
Fri Dec 31 201023:29Ben Gordon scores 19 in loss to Suns
Ben Gordon hit 8-of-19 shots and 1-of-5 3-pointers for 19 points, six rebounds, three assists and a steal in Friday's loss.
Gordon is worth owning in most leagues now that he's starting and scored 17 with four 3-pointers on Monday. His shooting is still suspect, but he's one of the few offensive weapons actually working for the Pistons.
Mon Dec 27 201022:07Gordon scores 17 points in loss
Ben Gordon scored 17 points on 6-of-16 shooting (including four threes) with four rebounds, four assists, and three steals in 36 minutes on Monday.
After playing bad enough for some owners to kick him to the curb, this will calm the natives. Overall, the fact that he starts and given the lingering hope that Richard Hamilton gets traded, he has a few things working in his favor in addition to this line.
Sun Dec 26 201021:06Ben Gordon held to 18 minutes on Sunday
Pistons SG Ben Gordon started but only played 18 minutes in Sunday's overtime loss to the visiting Bulls.
Gordon made 3-of-6 shots and wasn't particularly ineffective, but Rip got hot and coach John Kuester decided to ride the hot hand. As usual, Gordon's fantasy potential is tied directly to his role in Detroit's rotation.
Wed Dec 22 201022:46Ben Gordon awful in start for Pistons
Ben Gordon started at shooting guard Wednesday but hit just 1-of-7 shots on his way to four points.
Rip Hamilton, not happy about losing his job, exploded for 35 points off the bench. Who knows how this will turn out, but Gordon has still not done anything to earn the starting job, or to give fantasy owners much hope for a turnaround.
Tue Dec 21 201013:09Ben Gordon takes over Pistons starting SG job
Richard Hamilton conceded Tuesday that Ben Gordon has taken over as the Pistons starting shooting guard.
Sun Dec 19 201021:34Ben Gordon scores 25 points in start for DET
Ben Gordon started for the Pistons on Sunday and poured in 25 points with seven rebounds, three assists, and four turnovers. He made 9-of-21 FGs, 4-of-9 threes, and 3-of-4 FTs.
Gordon may have started at SG even if Rip Hamilton (stomach virus) had played, though it's hard to discount the absence of both Rip and Rodney Stuckey (toe). Given his potential, and the possibility of a starting gig, it's time to grab Gordon off the waiver wire -- just in case.
Sun Dec 19 201017:01Gordon, Villanueva starting for Pistons
Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva are expected to start for the Pistons on Sunday, while Austin Daye is likely out with a hamstring injury.
Gordon would replace Rip Hamilton, while Villanueva would make his first start at power forward, where the Pistons have tried a variety of guys this season. Hamilton won't be happy about the demotion, while CV and Gordon are both going to see a boost if this move sticks.

Fri Dec 17 201023:37Ben Gordon scores 15 in Friday's loss
Ben Gordon hit 6-of-15 shots and a 3-pointer on his way to 15 points in Friday's loss.
Gordon had scored a total of 15 points in his previous three games, so while this is a step in the right direction, he needs to show us much more before being put into fantasy lineups.
