Thu Oct 25 201211:07Ben Gordon to give it a go on Thursday
Ben Gordon (ankle) will "give it a go" against the Bucks on Thursday.
Gordon was a last-minute scratch for Tuesday's preseason game, but since he's already back on the floor two days later, the injury was obviously never serious. He'll come off the bench while the Bobcats start Kemba Walker, Ramon Sessions, Gerald Henderson, Bismack Biyombo and Byron Mullens.

Tue Oct 23 201219:01Ben Gordon (ankle) won't play Tuesday
Ben Gordon (ankle) will not play on Tuesday.
This was a last-minute surprise, as Gordon was originally expected to start at SG in place of Gerald Henderson. We'll update his status once we know more about the injury.

Tue Oct 23 201218:15Ben Gordon in running for starting SG job
Bobcats coach Mike Dunlap said that Ben Gordon is "definitely under consideration" to start at SG this season.
Such a move would bump Gerald Henderson to the bench or to SF, but if he moves to SF prized rookie Michael Kidd-Gilchrist would come off the bench. We're not putting a ton of stock in this report for the time being, but it's just one more reason to be skeptical of Henderson and MKG in fantasy leagues.

Wed Oct 17 201200:19Ben Gordon still producing in preseason
Ben Gordon had another good game on Tuesday with 21 points on 7-of-15 shooting, four assists, two steals and three treys in 25 minutes.
Gerald Henderson added 12 points, three assists and a steal in 30 minutes as the starter at shooting guard. Gordon has has been the team's leader in shot attempts so far in this young season. These two will likely cancel each other out and neither are more than a late-round flier.

Thu Oct 11 201222:54Ben Gordon scores 15 in start on Thursday
Ben Gordon got the start on Thursday and scored 14 points on 5-of-14 shooting in 29 minutes.
This is the second game in a row where B.G. had a team high in shot attempts. The Bobcats were dead last in points last year, so they certainly could use Gordon as one of their primary scorers. He's a late-round flier for now.

Wed Jun 27 201208:07Bobcats announce trade for Ben Gordon
Bobcats trade F Corey Maggette to Pistons for G Ben Gordon and a lottery-protected first-round pick.
The deal is now official. "With this trade, we have acquired two things we covet in our plan to build this team," said President of Basketball Operations Rod Higgins. Some fans have knocked the Bobcats for this deal, but the team needs talent desperately and Maggette simply wasn't part of the solution.

Tue Jun 26 201220:21Pistons trade Ben Gordon for Corey Maggette
The Pistons have traded G Ben Gordon and a lottery-protected 2013 first-round pick to Charlotte for F Corey Maggette, according to Yahoo! Sports.
The Pistons have been rumored to be taking a big man with the ninth pick, but this trade could put that plan in jeopardy now that Gordon is out of the picture in Detroit. He'll challenge Gerald Henderson for the starting job (and minutes) in Charlotte, while Maggette will try to stay healthy enough to compete for starter's minutes in Detroit. The move will save Detroit about $15 million on the two remaining years on Gordon's contract, while Maggette's got an expiring deal.

Mon May 14 201208:48Ben Gordon a candidate for trade?
Bulls beat writer Sam Smith is "hearing" that the Pistons believe they'll have a trade market for Ben Gordon.
Gordon played in Chicago before moving on to Detroit, so we'll put limited stock in this report. Gordon has been incredibly disappointing since signing a five-year, $55 million deal in free agency to join the Pistons, and it wouldn't be surprising to see Detroit use its amnesty clause if unable to find a taker for the veteran shooting guard. Gordon averaged 12.5 points and 1.2 treys on 44.2 percent shooting from the floor.

Fri Apr 27 201202:49Gordon hits franchise record seven 3s in qtr
Ben Gordon his a franchise-record seven 3-pointers in the second quarter of Thursday's win over the Sixers, and finished with 26 points on 9-of-13 shooting (including eight threes total).
Gordon added two rebounds, five assists, and a block and might have been a huge pickup for those thinking Rodney Stuckey (13 points, four assists, 27 minutes) would have been out of commission. Charlie Villanueva scored 11 points with seven boards, one steal, one block, and three treys of his own.

Thu Apr 12 201221:54Gordon plays 16 minutes in blowout win
Ben Gordon played just 16 minutes in Thursday's blowout win, scoring nine points on 1-of-3 shooting with two assists and a three.
Blowout or not, Gordon needs to up his minutes into the 25-plus range before he should even hit owners' radars in 12-team formats.

Sat Apr 7 201210:15Ben Gordon will return to Pistons' bench
Ben Gordon will return to the Pistons' bench once Rodney Stuckey is able to play his usual number of minutes.
BG has averaged 21.2 points in his past five starts for Detroit, but he's a weaker defender than Stuckey. Head coach Lawrence Frank suggested that playing time will be doled out based on performance night-to-night, but that first requires that they're both healthy (Stuckey is battling a toe injury but expects to play Sunday).

Sat Apr 7 201200:33Ben Gordon scores six points vs. Hawks
Ben Gordon played just 18 minutes on Friday against the Hawks, scoring six points on 3-of-5 shooting with two rebounds and one assist.
Gordon hasn't proven enough this year to stick with him through times like this. And while Stuckey is banged up right now, as long as he plays Sunday like he says he will there is no reason to have Gordon on a roster in 12-team formats.

Thu Apr 5 201223:38Gordon scores 13 points with Stuckey back
Ben Gordon scored 13 points on 6-of-14 shooting (no threes) with three rebounds and two assists in the Pistons' 99-94 win over the Wizards on Thursday.
Gordon started and played 35 minutes, while Rodney Stuckey (15 points) returned to action and played well in 19 minutes off the bench. Gordon has been inconsistent all year and will likely lose his value when Stuckey is at full speed, but he's worth a look while he's starting.

Tue Apr 3 201211:53Ben Gordon in, Rodney Stuckey out again
As expected, Ben Gordon (groin) will play on Tuesday while Rodney Stuckey (hamstring) will not.
This confirms an earlier report that Gordon would be in and Stuckey would be out, so owners shouldn't be surprised with the news on either player. Gordon should start in Stuckey's place at shooting guard, where he's averaged 16.1 points and 1.8 treys in that role.

Tue Apr 3 201206:48Ben Gordon expeced to return on Tuesday
Ben Gordon (groin) is "likely" to return to the lineup on Tuesday against the Magic.
Gordon practiced on Monday and did not aggravate the injury, so he should be all systems go on Tuesday. Rodney Stuckey (hamstring) was a limited participant in practice, but he's likely to sit out his third straight game. Gordon should draw the start in Stuckey's place, and he's averaging 16.1 points and 1.8 treys in 18 starts this season.

Sat Mar 31 201202:13Gordon (groin) out on Friday vs. Bulls
Ben Gordon (groin) did not play on Friday against the Bulls.
We don't have a real beat on how serious Gordon's groin injury is, and we can't imagine either Gordon or the Pistons rushing him back. Austin Daye will continue to play a prominent role until Gordon and Rodney Stuckey (hamstring) return.
