Fri Jan 24 201419:40Martell Webster (illness) is a game-time call
Martell Webster (illness) is a game-time call for Friday's contest against the Suns.
He's a huge part of the second unit and still played 28.4 minutes per game with Bradley Beal's minutes restriction in the month of January. If he can't go, it should be interesting to see if the Wizards increase Beal's minutes tonight, or they could throw Garrett Temple some extra playing time.

Sat Jan 18 201423:05Martell Webster scores 15 points, heating up
Martell Webster stayed hot against the Pistons during a 104-98 loss on Saturday, scoring 15 points, two boards, two assists, one steal and three 3-pointers.
He's really picked it up over his last four games with an averages of 13.0 points and 3.0 triples. Webster was in a big slump earlier, but he's still played 27.8 minutes per game over his last 10 and has a decent role with the team watching Bradley Beal's minutes. He should be owned in most leagues which include 3-pointers as a fantasy category.

Fri Jan 17 201421:39Webster back to life in Friday's win vs. CHI
Martell Webster rose from the dead to score 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting (including four threes) with one rebound, three assists and two steals in 36 minutes.
Webster has shown the ability to put up numbers with a full boat of players in Washington, but the problem is that this has been the exception and not the rule. Deep league owners may want to speculate, but for most owners they should watch and see if he can do it again.

Fri Jan 10 201421:33Webster hits rock bottom in Friday's loss
Martell Webster hit rock bottom in Friday's loss, scoring four points on 1-of-2 shooting with two rebounds and a steal.
Webster's deep league value was being propped up by his 3-point totals and he couldn't even do that tonight. Yes, the Wizards were awful tonight, but this slide has been getting worse and worse for weeks. Owners in 14-16 team leagues can move on to a hot free agent if they would like.

Sat Jan 4 201400:05Webster slowdown in full effect for Wizards
Martell Webster scored 12 points on 3-of-7 shooting (including two threes) with three rebounds and one assist in 31 minutes off the bench on Friday.
Webster's value has really hit the tank over the last two weeks and he hasn't been able to survive the way he has in the past with Trevor Ariza and Bradley Beal back in the fold. He may get it turned around at some point but for now he can be dropped for a hot free agent in standard formats.

Mon Dec 30 201322:10Webster quiet in 22 minutes against Pistons
Martell Webster scored 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting (including two threes) with four rebounds and one assist in 22 minutes on Monday.
Webster slowed down for a stretch earlier in the season and was able to respond even when the Wizards were closer to full strength, but it's certainly true that his value will slip when Trevor Ariza and Bradley Beal are playing. Owners can consider a drop here, but with Beal's health a question mark and an impressive game log owners will want to exercise some patience.

Sat Dec 28 201322:33Martell Webster hits 3-of-11 shots in win
Martell Webster hit just 3-of-11 shots and a 3-pointer for seven points in Saturday's win.
It looked like he was a must-add 24 hours ago when Bradley Beal was on crutches, but Beal played tonight, along with Trevor Ariza, which hurts Webster. He's scored a total of 23 points on 9-of-26 shooting over his last three games, and can be dropped in many leagues as long as Beal and Ariza are healthy.

Sat Dec 28 201300:31Martell Webster scores 11 points in 30 mins.
Martell Webster came off the bench against the Wolves on Friday with 11 points, three boards, one assist and three 3-pointers in 30 minutes.
The Wizards lost Bradley Beal to a knee injury and his status is up in the air for Saturday's game and beyond. Webster would step into a starting role should Beal miss time, which has been an area he's excelled, averaging 13.8 points, 4.8 boards, 0.8 steals and 2.5 triples in 13 starts. He's worth owning in all leagues until Beal gets a clean bill of health.

Thu Dec 19 201300:03Martell Webster back to earth on Wednesday
Martell Webster, who had 30 points and six 3-pointers on Monday, had 13 points, six rebounds, two assists and two 3-pointers on 3-of-6 shooting in 29 minutes on Wednesday.
Trevor Ariza started and had 15 points, three boards, three assists and three 3-pointers on 6-of-13 shooting in 36 minutes, and the timeshare is back on for these two. And given that Ariza is the starter, Webster is likely to face some inconsistency going forward.

Tue Dec 17 201301:04Martell Webster scores 30, hits six triples
Martell Webster was hot in Monday's 102-101 victory over the Knicks with six 3-pointers in 36 minutes off the bench, scoring 30 points with five boards, three assists, one steal and one block on 9-of-13 shooting.
After hitting 3.5 triples per game in the last eight games of November, Webster cooled off to just 0.8 in his previous four games before tonight's outburst. He is going to move to the bench, which isn't too bad considering the Wizards really are just going to use three guys to fill the total 96 minutes at small forward and shooting guard. Webster's production in 3-pointers should make him worth holding and tonight's game serves as the latest reason to support that claim.

Sat Dec 14 201322:46Webster has another off night Saturday
Martell Webster shot 4-of-9 from the field for 12 points with one board and no 3-pointers in 33 minutes.
He was grimacing a little during the game, but there was no report of an injury and he was able to play with whatever was bothering him. Webster has failed to make any 3-pointers in his two games since returning from an ankle injury after averaging 3.0 per game in his previous starts, but we still think he'll turn it around on Monday against the Knicks.

Fri Dec 13 201322:43Martell Webster plays 39 minutes in return
Martell Webster returned to the lineup on Friday from a sprained ankle and had 15 points, eight boards and one steal on 4-of-12 shooting in 39 minutes.
Even though the 39 minutes is a very encouraging sign, he missed all three attempts from beyond the arc, making this a disappointing return. Webster knocked down a whopping 3.0 triples per game in his previous 11 starts, so he'll likely bounce back Saturday against the Clippers. He should be in all lineups for that game.

Fri Dec 13 201318:26Martell Webster playing, Nene and Beal out
Martell Webster will play against the Hawks on Friday while Nene (Achilles) and Bradley Beal (leg) will be inactive.
He's said he was ready to play since Wednesday, so he should be somewhat close to his normal role with the team. Webster should be in all lineups after missing just one game due to an ankle sprain in the first quarter of the Dec. 6 game.

Fri Dec 13 201315:17Martell Webster goes through shootaround
Martell Webster (ankle) went through Friday's shootaround and is expected to play against the Hawks.
This is another sign he'll be ready to go after claiming he'll be ready on Wednesday. After suffering the injury on Friday Dec. 6, Webster has missed only one game due to a light schedule. He's been outstanding in a starting role for the Wizards, averaging 13.8 points, 4.8 boards, 2.6 assists, 0.8 steals and 3.0 triples in 11 games. It should be safe to put him back in all lineups.

Wed Dec 11 201317:48Martell Webster says he will play Friday
Martell Webster (ankle) said he'll be able to play on Friday against the Hawks.
I'm confident in the way it feels and I feel like I can go out there and play," Webster said. He still has a couple days to heal and he sounds like he should be ready to go. If he can make it back, that would give him just a week off the court after what looked to be a very ugly ankle sprain on Friday Dec. 6. Webster has been terrific and should be starting in all leagues at least until Bradley Beal is back from his leg injury.

Wed Dec 11 201313:03Martell Webster (ankle) practices Wednesday
Martell Webster (ankle) returned to practice on Wednesday.
The Wizards have another day off before playing the Hawks in Atlanta on Friday, so barring a setback it seems as though Webster will be ready to go. Glen Rice Jr. had seven points, three rebounds and three steals as a temporary starter in his absence on Monday, but the Wizards only managed to score 74 points in a loss to Denver.

Mon Dec 9 201317:29Martell Webster and Nene won't play vs Denver
Martell Webster (ankle) and Nene (foot) won't play against the Nuggets on Monday.
Webster's ankle injury looked bad on Friday and this is not a surprise. On the bright side, the Wizards are off until Friday, so a week off might be enough time for the sharp-shooting swingman to get back in the lineup. He should be held in most leagues. The Wizards will look to Chris Singelton and rookie Otto Porter to fill the big void. Trevor Ariza should also get a lot of shots tonight, especially from 3-point range.

Mon Dec 9 201312:17Martell Webster (hand) unlikely to go Monday
Martell Webster (left ankle) was held out of Monday's shootaround and isn't expected to play vs. the Nuggets.
Webster hurt himself during Friday's game and the good news is that it doesn't sound too serious. Owners must prepare to be without him for at least one game, however, which shifts more playing time to guys like Trevor Ariza, Otto Porter and Chris Singleton.

Sun Dec 8 201313:37Martell Webster (ankle) could return Monday
Martell Webster (ankle) felt "better" on Sunday but the Wizards have yet to determine his status for Monday's game vs. Denver.
Webster seemed mildly optimistic during Saturday's practice but fantasy owners with weekly lineups are in a tough spot. If he doesn't suit up on Monday, he'll have a maximum of two games played.
