Sat Dec 7 201313:59Martell Webster misses practice Saturday
Martell Webster (ankle) missed Saturday's practice after injuring his ankle in the first quarter of Friday's game.
Coach Randy Wittman said Webster is feeling better and they will have a better idea of his status on Sunday. The Wizards don't play again until Monday against the Nuggets, so Webster has another day to rest. Webster is averaging career highs in virtually every category, including 2.5 3-pointers per game.

Fri Dec 6 201319:41Martell Webster turns left ankle vs. Bucks
Martell Webster suffered an apparent left ankle injury at the end of the first quarter of Friday's game and went to the locker room.
He launched a half-court shot at the buzzer and came up lame and was in a lot of pain. Webster has been terrific for the Wizards and they might have to bring along rookie Otto Porter a little faster than expected.

Sat Nov 30 201321:53Martell Webster stuffs stat sheet in win
Martell Webster hit 6-of-11 shots and five 3-pointers for 19 points, three rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block in Saturday's win.
Webster and Ariza both played like All-Stars tonight and both should be in fantasy lineups whenever possible. At least until Bradley Beal is back, while also taking into consideration the fact the Wizards only play two games in the upcoming week.

Thu Nov 28 201300:39Martell Webster hits four treys in win
Martell Webster hit 7-of-16 shots and four more 3-pointers for 18 points, five rebounds and seven assists in a start for Bradley Beal on Wednesday.
Just when it looked like the return of Trevor Ariza was going to hurt Webster, Beal was ruled out for the next two weeks, at least. Webster should be owned in all leagues as long as he's starting at shooting guard, while Ariza is also worth using. Ariza had 14 points, two 3-pointers and three steals in the overtime win tonight.

Tue Nov 26 201321:59Martell Webster scores 20 points at SG
Martell Webster started at shooting guard for the Wizards on Tuesday, scoring 20 points with nine boards, three assists, four steals, one block and four 3-pointers in 43 minutes.
He was playing 40 minutes per game in his starts at small forward while Trevor Ariza was out, but now the versatile wing will get heavy work at shooting guard with Bradley Beal (leg) out for two weeks. Webster has a great awareness in getting open and only Klay Thompson has more catch-and-shoot 3-point attempts per game this season, so the triples will be coming in bunches. He's as must-own as it gets.

Tue Nov 26 201317:33Martell Webster (leg) to start at SG Tuesday
Martell Webster will start at SG vs. the Lakers on Tuesday, in place of Bradley Beal (leg).
Webster thrived as a SF while Trevor Ariza was sidelined and he should have similar success until Beal returns, which won't be for at least two weeks. He's a safe bet to activate in all formats.

Mon Nov 25 201314:03Martell Webster will come off the bench
Martell Webster will move back to the bench on Tuesday night against the Lakers.
It's too bad and it's been a fun ride for his owners while Trevor Ariza was out. In Webster's five starts, he averaged 14.8 points, 5.4 boards, 0.8 steals and 3.0 triples in 40.6 minutes. He was playing 25.6 minutes per game before Ariza went down and hit 1.8 triples per game, so he could still hold value in standard leagues.

Sat Nov 23 201322:16Martell Webster gets back on track
Martell Webster bounced back on Saturday night with 19 points, three boards, three assists and five 3-pointers in 40 minutes against the Knicks.
He had just nine points on Friday and didn't score in the second half, so he's really only had one bad half since taking over for Trevor Ariza (hamstring). Webster was playing 25.6 minutes per game off the bench and he's likely earned some extra playing time based on his stellar play over the last six games. He should be owned in all standard leagues until he cools off.

Fri Nov 22 201323:12Martell Webster still logging big minutes
Martell Webster fizzled out in the second half of Friday's 96-88 loss to the Raptors, finishing with nine points, four boards, five assists, two steals, one block and one 3-pointer in 42 minutes.
All nine of his points came in the first half and he had some trouble getting good looks after halftime, but his job is safe as long as Trevor Ariza (hamstring) is out of the lineup. Webster could turn in a nice game against the Knicks on Saturday.

Tue Nov 19 201321:49Martell Webster hits five 3-pointes in win
Martell Webster had 17 points, nine rebounds, two assists, a block and five 3-pointes in Tuesday's comeback win over the Timberwolves.
The Wolves overcame a 16-point deficit for the win and as long as Trevor Ariza is out with his hamstring injury, Webster looks like a must-start player.

Sat Nov 16 201322:34Martell Webster scores 14 in start for Wiz
Martell Webster started in place of Trevor Ariza (hamstring) and had 14 points, seven rebounds, a steal and two 3-pointers on 4-of-12 shooting.
His line would have been much more exciting had he hit more of his shots, but if you're looking for a short-term fill in for Ariza, Webster is your guy.

Sat Nov 16 201310:31Martell Webster to start for Trevor Ariza
Martell Webster will get the start on Saturday in place of the injured Trevor Ariza (right hamstring).
Webster went off for 21 points, 10 rebounds, three 3-pointers and four steals when Ariza went down on Wednesday. When he gets the minutes Webster can be a big help in points and 3-pointers, although he can totally disappear for games. He is worth an add but keep him on a short leash.

Thu Nov 14 201300:20Martell Webster steps up after Ariza injury
Martell Webster came to life on Wednesday for 21 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, four steals and three 3-pointers on 8-of-16 shooting in an ugly loss to the Spurs.
Trevor Ariza went down with a hamstring injury and as we've seen with several players this season, could miss some time with the injury. And if it happens, Webster is going to get some serious run. There are bunch of hot pickups based on what happened on Wednesday night, and it's possible that Webster could get lost in the shuffle. The bottom line is that if Ariza is going to miss time, Webster would be a solid addition to most starting lineups.

Tue Nov 12 201323:19Martell Webster struggles, trending down
Martell Wesbster hit just 2-of-5 shots for six points, four rebounds and one assist in 20 minutes off the bench Tuesday.
He got off to a hot start, but is really trending down over his last three games. He's scored a total of just 14 points in those games and has seen his minutes dwindle, as well. As long as Trevor Ariza and Bradley Beal are playing well in front of him, Webster should have trouble seeing enough minutes to do much fantasy damage on a consistent basis.

Sun Nov 3 201321:55Martell Webster scores 13 pts off bench
Martell Webster had another solid game off the bench on Sunday with 13 points, two 3-pointers, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Webster even went 34 minutes without a turnover, and he could be in line for extra playing time if Nene (calf, Achilles) and Trevor Booker (finger) are forced to miss any more games.

Fri Nov 1 201322:53Martell Webster plays better on Friday
Martell Webster fared better on Friday following a sub-par opener with his 13 points, two boards, two steals and three 3-pointers in 24 minutes against the Sixers.
He only took one shot on Wednesday and shot 4-of-9 from the field tonight. Trevor Ariza has been the main guy to play next to Bradley Beal, so it's going to be tough to count on Webster while both guys are healthy.

Thu Oct 31 201303:47Martell Webster makes debut vs. Pistons
Martell Webster (ankle) played 21 minutes on Wednesday and had just five points, two boards and one 3-pointer against the Pistons.
Trevor Ariza stole Webster's thunder tonight and coach Randy Wittman had little reason to put Webster on the court. The emergence of Bradley Beal limited the paths to playing time for Webster, so we're not expecting him to duplicate last year's pleasant surprise.

Wed Oct 23 201319:41Martell Webster out Wed. with ankle sprain
Martell Webster will not play against the Cavaliers on Wednesday due to a left ankle sprain.
The severity of his ankle injury is not known and this is the first we've heard of anything wrong. Webster is probably done for the preseason and didn't fare too well, making just 31.4 percent of his attempts with 1.4 triples per game. Assuming the injury isn't serious, Martell could be a sneaky source for threes, especially with Otto Porter missing almost all of training camp action.

Mon Oct 21 201312:50Martell Webster survives minor ankle injury
Martell Webster, who projects as a backup SG/SF on opening night, said he was "fine" after tweaking his left ankle during Saturday's game.
"I understand there is a fine line between playing through injury and potentially making it worse," Webster said. "I judge that fairly well. For me, being able to fight through that pain was a test for me." His toughness is commendable and the injury doesn't seem likely to linger. The bad news is that Webster played eight fewer minutes as a reserve last season (22 per game) and Trevor Ariza seems to have earned the nod at SF during training camp.

Sat Oct 12 201319:38Martell Webster plays well off Wizards' bench
Martell Webster led the Wizards' reserves on Saturday with 15 points, including three 3-pointers.
He chipped in three rebounds and one steal in 22 minutes but it's become increasingly clear that Trevor Ariza (nine points) will begin the season as the starting SF. It's worth mentioning that Ariza didn't rank in the top-100 in nine-cat fantasy value last year, in 26 minutes per game. Webster made the top-100, however, on the strength of 11.4 points, 1.8 triples, 3.9 rebounds, 0.7 steals and good percentages.
