Mon Nov 22 201020:24Hayes to start, Miller off the bench vs. Suns
Chuck Hayes will start at center against the Suns on Monday, with Brad Miller coming off the bench.
The Rockets figure that Hayes will have an easier time chasing around the Suns' three-point shooters, but this shouldn't change either player's outlook. If you want to downgrade Miller's projections tonight it's understandable, but he could easily get the same workload as he normally does, too.

Sun Nov 14 201022:24Chuck Hayes called on to contain Amare
The Rockets leanded heavily on Chuck Hayes in Sunday's win over the Knicks, and he posted eight points, nine rebounds, four assists in 31 minutes.
Hayes' strength and defense were essential to slowing down the heart of the Knicks' offense -- Amare Stoudemire. As we learned last season, even when starting Hayes doesn't usually amass many stats.
Sun Nov 7 201000:34Hayes scores eight with 13 boards
Chuck Hayes scored eight points on 3-of-7 shooting with 13 rebounds, two assists, and a block in 27 minutes on Saturday with Yao Ming (foot) out.
Hayes could have nights like these whenever Yao is out, or Brad Miller (ankle) isn't healthy, but guessing when they will be is next to impossible. He's waiver wire fodder.
Sun Oct 24 201015:00Chuck Hayes (ankle) back at practice
Rockets big man Chuck Hayes (ankle) returned to practice on Sunday.
Hayes started 82 games for Houston last season, playing out of position at center (he's 6'6") due to Yao Ming's injury. With Yao back and Brad Miller in town, he'll surely play a diminished role this year.

Wed Oct 20 201014:12Hayes to miss Rockets' final two exhibitions
Chuck Hayes (ankle) will miss the Rockets' final two preseason games.
Hayes is far more valuable to Houston's frontcourt than he is to fantasy owners. The reserve center averaged 4.4 points and 5.7 rebounds per game last season.

Tue Oct 19 201015:21Rockets center Chuck Hayes rolls ankle
Rockets center Chuck Hayes rolled his right ankle during Tuesday's practice. He will be re-evaluated on Wednesday.
Hayes proved last year that he can hold his own as a starting center in the NBA, but his role will dwindle with Yao Ming back and Brad Miller on the roster. Hopefully tests don't reveal any serious injuries.

Sat May 8 201010:52Rockets intend to keep Hayes for 2010-11
The Rockets plan to pick up the final season of Chuck Hayes' contract, a $2.3 million option that will prevent him from becoming a free agent.
The Houston Chronicle notes that "the decision ... indicates the Rockets will continue to limit the number of players signed beyond the collective bargaining agreement." The current CBA expires after the 2010-11 season, and the new deal should be more favorable for team owners.

Wed Apr 7 201023:53Hayes grabs a career-high 18 rebounds
Chuck Hayes grabbed a career-high 18 rebounds on Wednesday, and also added six points on 3-of-4 shooting with three assists and two steals.
Every now and then he does something like this, but normally he plays very limited minutes and he isn't worth a look in fantasy leagues unless he does this a few more times.
