Sat Apr 9 201123:43Hayes posts monster line in Rockets win
Chuck Hayes scored 12 points on 6-of-9 shooting with 13 rebounds, five assists, and three steals in the Rockets' 99-78 win over the Clippers on Saturday.
He did a good job on Blake Griffin, and had he gotten another five assists for his second career triple-double, we would have had both Hayes and Drew Gooden nabbing the honors in the same night. Had you bet on that in Vegas entering the year, the odds could have easily cleared 10,000 to one. Kevin Martin added 16 points, five boards, five assists, and three treys in the win.

Chuck Hayes bounced back from a slump on Friday, hitting 5-of-12 shots for 10 points, 12 boards, three steals and a block in an OT win over the Spurs.
Hayes had been struggling a bit with his shot over the last few, and didn't exactly set the nets on fire tonight, which can be overlooked due to the rest of his line.

Tue Mar 29 201123:24Hayes posts another solid line in win
Chuck Hayes scored eight points on 3-of-11 shooting with 14 rebounds, four assists, and two steals in Tuesday's blowout win over the Nets.
Ric Bucher called him Stephen Hawkings in basketball shoes during the game, and while that might be a bit optimistic, there's no doubt the lightbulb has sprung on for both him and owners. Kevin Martin added 20 points on a normal night, and Chase Budinger was quiet with 10 points and two threes in the win.

Thu Mar 24 201101:21Chuck Hayes triple-doubles for Rockets
Chuck Hayes has been hot all year and reached a new high on Wednesday, finishing with 13 points, 14 rebounds, 11 assists and two steals for his first triple-double.
Hayes is one of the most unlikely players we know of to triple-double, but he did it. He's had a great season and if he is still somehow available in your league, he won't be in a few hours. And as usual, another NBA player had a career night against the Warriors - and it's not a coincidence.

Thu Mar 17 201100:41Chuck Hayes playing like an All-Star
Chuck Hayes torched the Bobcats for nine points, 17 rebounds, seven assists, three steals and a block on 3-of-11 shooting Wednesday.
Had he shot it better this would have been a monster line, if it wasn't already. He had 21 points and nine boards in his previous game, tied his season high with the 17 boards, and came in averaging eight points and nine boards in March. Those numbers are going up after this one, and he should be owned in most fantasy leagues, as usual. Just beware that the Rockets have just two games next week.

Tue Mar 15 201101:18Chuck Hayes scores career-high 21 in win
Chuck Hayes, who has had a great year by his standards, hit 9-of-15 shots for a career-high 21 points to go along with nine rebounds, a steal and a block in Monday's tough win over the Suns.
Hayes has been a viable fantasy center all season and took it to another level tonight. With four games this week, we simply hope he was in your lineup tonight.

Sun Feb 27 201121:37Chuck Hayes still rolling for hot Rockets
Chuck Hayes had six points, 11 rebounds, five assists and a block in 41 minutes Sunday.
Perhaps the most amazing aspect to his breakout season is the assists, as he's helping teams with weak point guards compete in that category this season. He should keep it going the rest of the way.
Sun Feb 27 201100:31Chuck Hayes not threatened by Thabeet
Chuck Hayes had eight points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and two blocks for the Rockets on Saturday.
Hasheem Thabeet debuted and played just two minutes, as Hayes appears to have locked himself into the starting gig the rest of the way. He flited with a triple-double and has played well all year, so make sure he's not available in your league.
Wed Feb 23 201123:08Hayes double-doubles with 12 & 17
Chuck Hayes set a Quicken Loans Arenas record with 12 rebounds in one quarter (the first) and finished with 12 points, 17 rebounds, a steal and a block in a tough comeback win over the Cavaliers.
Just when it looked like he was fading, he puts up a moster line and shut down J.J. Hickson as well. The Rockets could trade for a big man, but if they don't, Hayes should continue to produce for the Rockets.
Fri Feb 18 201110:15Rockets GM keeping 'big picture' in mind
Rockets GM Daryl Morey is still actively pursuing all trade options, saying, "Our trade deadline moves have to be about getting us closer to where we want to be in the big picture, versus in the short run."
Morey stressed that the Rockets still hope to make a run at the playoffs, but Houston is clearly at a juncture where they need to rebuild around a star not named Yao Ming. One trump card that Morey holds is all of Houston's players with expiring contracts -- Chuck Hayes, Yao Ming, Aaron Brooks, Jared Jeffries, Ish Smith and Shane Battier.

Thu Feb 17 201117:53Hayes' minutes taking a hit
Chuck Hayes is averaging just 21.2 minutes per game over his last three contests.
Hayes's minutes have taken a hit as the Rockets have gone small over the last two games. It certainly doesn't help that Brad Miller is healthy and Jordan Hill is playing better. But the real concern is that Rockets are reportedly in the market for a big man at the trade deadline and are willing to pay. Hayes' arrow is pointing down.
Tue Feb 15 201100:38Hayes plays 20 minutes in blowout win
Chuck Hayes played just 20 minutes in the Rockets' 121-102 blowout win over the Nuggets on Monday, scoring six points on 2-of-5 shooting with six rebounds, two steals, and one block.
Aside from the blowout, the Nuggets employed a small lineup and the Rockets auditioned many of their players on the trading block. The low minute total for Hayes shouldn't be a concern, but the chance they bring back a big man in a trade should be. They could opt to go with a younger, less-proven talent like Anthony Randolph, but have been linked to 7-8 big man so anything could happen. Hayes is a strong sell-high candidate as a result.
Wed Feb 9 201103:22Hayes double-doubles with five steals
Chuck Hayes double-doubled with 10 points on 5-of-10 shooting with 13 rebounds, four assists, and five steals in the Rockets' 112-108 loss to the Wolves on Tuesday.
Brad Miller hasn't made a dent in his playing time, and Jordan Hill was active but did not play, so owners should be cautiously optimistic that he's going to keep his minutes. If so, he is a decent bet to continue providing the early 4th round value he has been giving over the last month in 8-cat leagues.
Tue Feb 8 201102:22Hayes double-doubles with Miller around
Chuck Hayes double-doubled with 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting to go with 10 rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block in 33 minutes on Monday.
He's holding his value with Brad Miller back, and the next trick will be holding his value when Jordan Hill (ankle) returns. We like his chances to keep 28+ mpg, but if owners want to sell while his value is high that would also be correct.
Sun Feb 6 201103:04Hayes scores 15 points with seven boards
Chuck Hayes scored 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting with seven rebounds, one assist, one steal, and two blocks in 44 minutes on Saturday.
Brad Miller returned from a three week absence with a knee injury and played 10 minutes, and Jordan Hill (ankle) has been sidelined, but owners should panic too much. Hayes is very valuable to the Rockets defensively and is becoming a premier defender in the NBA, but if you want to sell-high before his value gets potentially chipped we wouldn't argue with you, either.
Thu Feb 3 201101:44Chuck Hayes double-doubles again
Chuck Hayes had 13 points, 12 rebounds and a block in 41 minutes in an exciting win over the Jazz.
Hayes is hot and benefited from the absence of Jordan Hill. He played 41 minutes tonight and has become a solid fantasy option at center in nearly all leagues.
