Aaron Brooks returned from a bout with the flu and had four points and one assist in eight minutes on Wednesday.

Isaiah Thomas is still the starter, but was benched for Jimmer Fredette tonight in the second half. Brooks is now off the radar in fantasy, but could become relevant at some point down the line.

Aaron Brooks could have a hard time finding minutes in the rotation, according to the Sacramento Bee.

Isaiah Thomas has locked onto the starting point guard job again and the Kings continue to foce feed minutes to Jimmer Fredette, so Brooks may have to wait his turn. With Tyreke Evans and Marcus Thornton both healthy again, there are just fewer minutes to be distributed.

Once again, Keith Smart fooled everyone by saying "He's back," prior to the game. Isaiah Thomas failed to take advantage of his absence, hitting just 2-of-8 shots for six points and six assists, after going for 34 points on Saturday.

"He's back. He had some chicken soup and he's ready," coach Keith Smart said. It should be interesting to see how many minutes Brooks will see tonight with Isaiah Thomas coming off a monster 34-point game on Saturday. Brooks should be left on the wire in the vast majority of leagues.

He's value is clearly trending down and another game in street clothes could spell trouble for him with most of his minutes going to Isaiah Thomas. Thomas went off on Saturday with 34 points and he should be owned in all leagues while Brooks is waiver wire fodder in almost all formats.

The Kings' PG position battle resumed on Saturday, as Isaiah Thomas logged 22 minutes as the starter and Aaron Brooks played 26 minutes off the bench.

Thomas scored 12 points with two assists and Brooks had 13 points, two 3s, five rebounds, four assists and two steals. Keith Smart is simply determined to keep Brooks on the court, and we see no near-term solution to his machinations.

Aaron Brooks returned from his ankle injury on Tuesday and played 22 minutes, but hit just 2-of-8 shots and 1-of-6 3-pointers for seven points, three boards and three assists.

He played most of the fourth quarter over Isaiah Thomas, drawing the ire of fantasy owners, while struggling all the way home. He'll do more to wreck the fantasy value of Thomas than he will offer much of his own, and should be on waivers in your league as long as he's coming off the bench.

Brooks' availability and ultimate return will test Isaiah Thomas' fantasy value right away, as Thomas could put up Wilt Chamberlain numbers and cure cancer on the same night and still not get the keys to the Kings' rudderless offense. Smart went out of his way to downplay Thomas' big night in Sunday's win after the game, so we see no reason to believe that he'll stop playing matador defender Brooks at his expense. That said, Thomas has always been held back by the Kings and last year he made a living under that duress.

"He had some stiffness (Saturday), so he had treatment all day (Saturday) and (Sunday)," Keith Smart said. "And we'll see what happens on this road trip." Brooks' ankle could swell up on the plane, but the Kings will treat his injury on a day-to-day basis. Isaiah Thomas is locked in as the starting PG right now.

Isaiah Thomas is already starting at PG and owners in standard leagues should cut Brooks if they haven't already. Jimmer Fredette will also step into a larger role with both Brooks and Tyreke Evans (knee) unavailable.

Brooks' defense is getting worse by the night, as he creates an easy scoring opportunity for the opposition with any pick-and-roll they run at him. Chris Paul simply toyed with him tonight, and any offense that Brooks provided was negated by his inability to run any sort of coherent effort. Isaiah Thomas has been outclassing him for most of the year, and he's on the shortlist of worst offseason signings simply for what he has done to disrupt the development of a young Kings team.

Keith Smart wants Aaron Brooks to be aggressive with his speed.

"He should be flying all over the place," Smart said. "he dictates how we play. Moving forward, he's got to keep playing like that." Brooks had 23 points, five assists and two steals in Wednesday's win over the Warriors, and for now, it seems like he'l hold onto the starting job. However, Isaiah Thomas isn't going anywhere and has played much better of late.

Just when it looked like Isaiah Thomas might be ready to replace Brooks as the starter, he answered the call with a big line. Keith Smart said he was pleased with the way Brooks pushed the offense tonight, but then again, that's exactly what IT2 does. Despite Brooks' big game, Thomas had 11 points, three assists and a 3-pointer on 5-of-7 shooting in just 18 minutes, and is still nipping at Brooks' heels for the starting gig, and Thomas is reportedly who the players want to see in the first unit.

Brooks hit two 3-pointers to somewhat salvage his fantasy line, but in reality he and Sacramento's starters were abysmal, as reflected in his game-worst +/- rating of -27. Isaiah Thomas (20 points in 27 minutes) is starting to heat up and Keith Smart is beginning to slacken the reins despite his stated fondness for Brooks, which darkens the veteran's already gloomy outlook.

Brooks gave up more points on defense than he scored, as usual, and Isaiah Thomas (26 points) nearly brought the team back from 24 points down to make it a game tonight. He would probably perform better on a less dysfunctional team devoid of scoring, but in Sacramento he is a total mess.

Aaron Brooks scored nine points on 3-of-8 shooting (including two threes) with five rebounds and five assists over 28 minutes in the Kings' 23-point loss to the Mavs on Monday.

Brooks was a sieve on defense and his three turnovers negated any good he did tonight, and as floor general he constantly ran the shot clock down and put the team into bad situations. Of course, Keith Smart glowingly talked about Brooks as being the only guy to get into the paint, even though most of Brooks' trips into the paint resulted in a bad shot or a turnover. This game had a garbage-time element to it, but Brooks has been putting up some very low-end numbers so keep an eye on him in deeper formats.

Aaron Brooks scored 11 points on 5-of-9 shooting (including a three) with four rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 19 minutes on Friday against the Magic.

Jameer Nelson targeted Brooks relentlessly when he was on the floor and blew by him repeatedly. While nobody has questioned Brooks' ability to score, the Kings run much better with Isaiah Thomas (17 points, five boards, four assists) at the point but Keith Smart and his bosses may not figure it out all season.

Aaron Brooks had just 11 points, four assists, a steal and a 3-pointer on 2-of-8 shooting despite playing 33 minutes on Wednesday.

He had scored in single figures in three straight games coming into this one and has hit just 9-of-29 shots over his last four games. Despite his shaky play, Isaiah Thomas got another DNP-CD tonight, as the Kings remain a mess at point guard.
