Aaron Brooks scored eight points on 3-of-7 shooting with two threes, two assists and a steal in 17 minutes off the bench on Friday.
With Chandler Parsons back in the fold the trio of Brooks, Francisco Garcia (zero points, six rebounds, four blocks) and Omri Casspi (two points) all returned to being unusable in standard formats.

Wed Dec 4 201323:56Aaron Brooks starts second half in loss
Aaron Brooks started the second half as the Rockets went small against the Suns on Wednesday, and had 17 points, four rebounds, four assists, three steals and three 3-pointers on 7-of-18 shooting in the loss.
Brooks was a popular fantasy play when Jeremy Lin went down with his knee injury, but owners soured on him after Saturday's three-point dud. He's still averaging 13.6 points, 2.2 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 2.2 steals and 2.2 3-pointers over his last five games, and it looks like he should continue to be a decent fantasy option for as long as Lin is out.

Sat Nov 30 201323:15Aaron Brooks disappears in loss to Spurs
Aaron Brooks played just 16 minutes and hit 1-of-8 shots for three points, two rebounds, four assists and three steals in Saturday's win over the Spurs.
Brooks came in hot and it's not surprising he cooled off against the defense of the Spurs. As long as Jeremy Lin is out and Patrick Beverley is focused on defense, we expect Brooks to be better than this on most nights.

Sat Nov 30 201303:31Brooks posts a solid 14 and seven off bench
Aaron Brooks scored 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting (including three treys) with seven assists, three steals and one block in 28 minutes off the bench in Friday's blowout win over the Nets.
The Nets played this game with the ferocity of a sea lion bathing on the beach, so try not to get too far ahead of yourselves when assessing Brooks' value while Jeremy Lin is out. On a normal night he'll probably get 18-24 minutes and a good target for value would be something in the top 90-120 range if it all goes well.

Fri Nov 29 201313:14Aaron Brooks could benefit from loss of Lin
Aaron Brooks could really benefit from the loss of Jeremey Lin (knee).
Brooks has shown in the past, that when given the minutes he can be very productive. He blew up for 21-points, four treys, four assists, and two steals in his last game, and could make for a nice speculative add. Just know that Brooks has battled with inconsistency throughout his career, and Lin won't be out all season long.

Thu Nov 28 201302:28Aaron Brooks scores 21, Jeremy Lin injured
Aaron Brooks came off the bench for 21 points, four 3-pointers, four assists and two steals on 7-of-12 shooting in Wednesday's win over the Hawks, as Jeremy Lin left after four minutes with a bruised right knee.
Brooks was great tonight in his return from a thigh injury and would obviously benefit if Lin will miss time with his injury. Brooks has posted big lines in two of his last three games and could be ready to do it again if Lin is going to be out. Patrick Beverley appears to be much more interested in defense than trying to score at this point, and Brooks looks like a more interesting short-term option if Lin is going to be in street clothes for a few games.

Tue Nov 26 201315:29Aaron Brooks (thigh) expected to suit up Wed.
Aaron Brooks (bruised thigh) is expected to play on Wednesday.
He could see extra minutes with James Harden (foot) once again questionable to play. He scored 26 points on Saturday, which was fluky, but he could provide another quick dose of scoring and 3-pointers before Harden returns.

Mon Nov 25 201322:01Aaron Brooks has bruised right thigh
Aaron Brooks suffered a bruised right thigh in Monday's game at Memphis and is not expected to return.
Brooks had three points, three boards, one assist, one steal and one 3-pointer in 16 minutes. Mike Conley and the Grizzlies have been locking down the perimeter on defense, so Patrick Beverley will have to try and solve this puzzle at point guard by himself.

Sat Nov 23 201322:36Brooks comes out of nowhere with 26-4-5 line
Aaron Brooks came out of nowhere with 26 points, four rebounds, five assists, two steals and six 3-point buckets in 25 minutes off the bench on Saturday.
Brooks hit 10-of-14 shots from the field and 6-of-7 3-point attempts, and needless to say he was on fire as the only thing he missed were some ridiculous heat checks. Of course the only reason he was on the floor tonight was James Harden's absence, and giving plenty of points back on the defensive end this was nowhere near a role-changing performance. He might earn a few more appearances in the rotation, though.

Tue Nov 5 201301:28Brooks tweaks right ankle in Monday's game
Aaron Brooks tweaked his right ankle in Monday's game, but returned after a short absence and finished with nine points, four rebounds, one steal and one block in 18 minutes.
Brooks was abused all night on defense and will return to the bench once Patrick Beverley returns. He has no real fantasy value.

Aaron Brooks says he signed a one-year contract with the Rockets.
The Rockets waived Brooks in late June and he seemed ticketed for elsewhere. Brooks said he had other offers but took the veteran's minimum from the Rockets because he feels comfortable in Houston. Brooks will likely battle Patrick Beverley and Isaiah Canaan for backup point guard minutes.

The veteran PG will hit the open market on July 1, and he figures to hear pitches from teams like the Nets who could use an affordable backup PG. He's unlikely to be a fantasy asset regardless of where he's playing in 2013-

Wed Mar 20 201309:15Aaron Brooks could be joining the rotation
Aaron Brooks is expected to get a look in the Rockets rotation.
Kevin McHale said the team is "looking at Aaron," and the Rockets will try to figure out the best way to integrate him into the mix. Brooks said practice reps have been split "evenly" between himself, Patrick Beverley and Jeremy Lin, which is pretty interesting. Brooks can be ignored in fantasy leagues right now.

Thu Mar 7 201309:28Aaron Brook's playing time to be situational
Kevin McHale said that Aaron Brooks will see "situational" playing time.
Brooks did not get off the bench on Wednesday. The new point guard might get some run after he has a few practices, but McHale is clearly not going to rush just for the sake of rushing. "We don't run standard NBA sets," McHale said. "We play a lot different."

Mon Mar 4 201320:25Houston signs G Aaron Brooks Monday
The Houston Rockets have signed Aaron Brooks.
This story was pretty much covered on Friday when Adrian Wojnarowski had the report and Woj confirmed the signing on Monday evening. Brooks had some good times in Houston and led the NBA in 3-pointers in the '09-'10 season. However, he will just cut into Patrick Beverley's playing time and neither player has much value outside of extremely deep leagues.

Fri Mar 1 201318:32Report: Aaron Brooks will sign with Rockets
Free agent PG Aaron Brooks will likely sign with the Rockets, sources tell Yahoo Sports.
Brooks reached a buyout with the Kings earlier Friday. In Houston, he'll likely slide right in as Jeremy Lin's direct backup, ahead of Patrick Beverley and Toney Douglas. Brooks spent the first four seasons of his career with the Rockets.

Tue Feb 5 201308:49Aaron Brooks no longer in PG rotation
Keith Smart said that he's decided to go with Isaiah Thomas and Jimmer Fredette as his two point guards, leaving Aaron Brooks out of the rotation.
Brooks has not played in either of the Kings last two games, and the veteran will continue to ride the pine for now. "I couldn't play all three of them," Smart said. "(So I'm going to) try to play two guys and keep it consistent." It's pretty telling that the same guy Smart tabbed to start over IT2 is now third on the depth chart, but we're used to seeing whacky things happen when it comes to Sacramento's rotation.
