Wed Jan 25 201222:49Derrick Brown goes for 10 & 5 in loss
Derrick Brown made another start at small forward on Wednesday and had 10 points and five rebounds in 29 minutes.
With D.J. Augustin (toe) and Gerald Henderson (tailbone) both missing time, Brown could be worth a short-term pickup in deep leagues. He had 15 points and four boards in Tuesday's start.

Tue Jan 24 201222:22Derrick Brown starts, plays well for Bobcats
Derrick Brown started at small forward and hit 6-of-13 shots for 15 points, four rebounds, two steals and a block in 33 minutes of Tuesday's loss.
Brown is worth keeping an eye on with D.J. Augustin out for the week. Kemba Walker (22 points) slid over to point guard in DJA's absence, and Gerald Henderson (15 points) started at shooting guard, clearing the opening for Brown. Corey Maggette remains out indefinitely with a hamstring injury, so it's possible Brown could go on a nice run.

Tue Jan 24 201218:51Derrick Brown starting for Bobcats on Tuesday
Derrick Brown has been inserted into the starting lineup on Tuesday against the New York Knicks.
With D.J. Augustin (toe) out, Kemba Walker slides over to the point, Gerald Henderson shifts to shooting guard and Brown will get the start at small forward. Coming in for an injured Augustin on Sunday, Brown played well with 11 points, one 3PM, three rebounds, one assist and two steals in 30 minutes, however Brown doesn't offer much in terms of upside. Despite the starting nod, we'd stay away in most formats.

Sun Jan 22 201220:33Derrick Brown solid in 30 minutes for Bobcats
Derrick Brown played well in 30 minutes vs. the Nets on Sunday, finishing with 11 points, one 3-pointer, three rebounds, one assist and two steals.
Paul Silas is quickly running out of ways to spark his 3-14 team, and it's conceivable that Brown (who is playing 17 minutes per game) will start averaging closer to 25 minutes. He doesn't hit many 3s, dish the ball or block shots, however, which limits his fantasy appeal.

Fri Jan 6 201222:59Brown plays 17 minutes with Tyrus back
Derrick Brown played just 17 minutes with Tyrus Thomas (knee) back in the lineup on Friday.
He scored four points with three rebounds and an assist, and the deep-league run for him is all-but over. Drop him in those formats for a hot free agent.

Fri Jan 6 201218:39Derrick Brown to start at SF for Bobcats
Derrick Brown has been announced as the starting SF for the Bobcats on Friday night.
With Corey Maggette out for 2-4 weeks, Brown is getting the starting nod. Brown is averaging only 4.2 ppg and 3.8 rpg for Charlotte this season and head coach Paul Silas has said that Tyrus Thomas will also get some minutes at the SF slot. We'd stay away from Brown in all but the deepest of leagues.

Fri Dec 9 201117:39Derrick Brown signed by Bobcats
Forward Derrick Brown has agreed to a one-year deal with the Bobcats.
He's got some talent and can rebound, but shouldn't see enough minutes in Charlotte to be fantasy-worthy.

Wed Jun 29 201115:45Derrick Brown gets qualifying offer from NY
The Knicks have made a qualifying offer to Derrick Brown, making him a restricted free agent.
Brown's athleticism would make a nice fit in New York if the Knicks opt to retain him, but he's a long way from carving out a significant role in Mike D'Antoni's rotation.

Tue Mar 1 201110:50Knicks claim Derrick Brown off waivers
Knicks claimed F Derrick Brown off waivers from the Bobcats.
Brown is a highly athletic forward that will fit nicely in Mike D'Antoni's uptempo scheme. Consider the 2009 second-round pick a project for now.

Tue Dec 21 201023:05Brown gets run as Larry Brown scrambles
Derrick Brown got 33 minutes of run on Tuesday as coach Larry Brown continues to look for answers to the Bobcats' losing streak, and Brown responded with 11 points on 5-of-10 shooting with six rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
You'd have to be in a very deep league for these numbers to pique your interest, especially after he has done practically nothing all year. Once Gerald Wallace (ankle) returns, Brown's chances at having fantasy value are practically nil.
Fri Nov 5 201023:55Brown starts second half for Nazr
Derrick Brown started the second half of Friday's game against the Pistons as coach Larry Brown wanted to go small, and finished the game with nine points on 3-of-8 shooting (including two threes) with seven rebounds, four assists, and two blocks.
He does this every once in a while, but not nearly enough to warrant fantasy consideration. He was averaging four points and two rebounds entering tonight's contest.
Mon Oct 18 201023:43Derrick Brown a Larry Brown type of guy
Second-year forward Derrick Brown has had a solid preseason, and Monday was no different as he scored 18 points on 8-of-9 shooting with two rebounds, two assists, and a steal in 21 minutes off the bench.
Each of his last four preseason performances have been eerily alike in the box score, although tonight's 18 points were his most notable with 14 of them coming in the fourth quarter. Larry Brown likes him, and in super-deep formats he is worth a look for his scoring and FG%.
