Mon Nov 19 201222:09Cole Aldrich sprains ankle, out for game
Cole Aldrich suffered a sprained right ankle on Monday and will not return.
The Rockets are a little banged up with Greg Smith (pinkie) out of the lineup. They've turned rookie Terrence Jones loose to eat up minutes, but now Patrick Patterson looks like he should see some extra minutes and gains even more value on top of his improved play lately.

Wed Oct 31 201212:13Cole Aldrich won't have option picked up
The Rockets will not pick up Cole Aldrich's contract option for the 2013-14 season.
It's not exactly a huge surprise as the Rockets are looking to free up all the cash necessary to land another impact player in the offseason. Aldrich hasn't proven much since being drafted.

Sat Oct 27 201223:47Cole Aldrich traded to Houston on Saturday
Cole Aldrich was traded to the Rockets as part of Saturday's six-player swap.
Aldrich will compete for backup center minutes with Donatas Motiejunas and Greg Smith, and would only be worth a look if Omer Asik gets injured. He appeared in 26 games for the Thunder last season, averaging 2.2 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.6 blocks.

Sat Oct 20 201203:00Aldrich scores 12 points as Thunder roll
Cole Aldrich scored 12 points off the bench as the Thunder dispatched the Suns by the score of 107-97 in Friday's preseason action.
Aldrich appears to have locked up the backup center job in Oklahoma City, and will come in handy down the road if and when the Thunder face the Lakers in the playoffs. Hasheem Thabeet started tonight's game and scored five points with four boards in 18 minutes, but Aldrich has created separation in that position battle.

Sat Oct 13 201205:12Aldrich double-doubles again on Friday
Cole Aldrich double-doubled again in another start at center for injured Kendrick Perkins (groin, wrist) in Friday's exhibition game against the Jazz, scoring 11 points on 5-of-11 shooting with 10 rebounds, three steals, and three blocks in 32 minutes.
Aldrich has practically no shot of replacing Perk in the starting lineup or stealing his minutes, but it's an interesting thought with Perkins in obvious decline. The proper configuration of minutes would be to give Perkins and Aldrich 20 mpg with a slight bump when larger centers are on the docket, but Scott Brooks trotted Perkins out nightly during the playoffs despite the big man putting him at a 15-20 point handicap every night. Perk's job is safe as long as he can stay on the floor.

Thu Oct 11 201213:45Aldrich double-doubles in preseason debut
Cole Aldrich started at center on Wednesday and had 10 points, 11 boards, a steal and three blocks in the loss to the Rockets.
Kendrick Perkins isn't healthy enough to go right now, clearing the way for Aldrich to get some meaningful minutes. If Perkins still isn't ready at the start of the season, Aldrich might be worth a short-term add in fantasy.

Tue Oct 9 201215:22Cole Aldrich to start at center Wednesday
Cole Aldrich will start at center for the Thunder in Wednesday's preseason game.
Kendrick Perkins is still recovering from knee surgery and it sounds like Aldrich has won the job of backing him up after a strong training camp. Aldrich is only worth a look in very deep fantasy leagues.

Tue Oct 9 201209:49Aldrich battling to back up Perkins
Cole Aldrich is battling Hasheem Thabeet and Daniel Orton for the right to back up Kendrick Perkins at center in OKC.
Perkins is iffy for the start of the season as he recovers from knee surgery and Aldrich sounds like the favorite to win the back up job right now, meaning he could have some early season value if Perk's not ready. Don't draft him, but be aware that Aldrich might be a cheap source of boards and blocks for the first month of the season.

Mon Sep 17 201214:28Cole Adrich in line for backup minutes in OKC
Thunder center Cole Aldrich could be Kendrick Perkins' primary backup for the Thunder this season, though he faces competition from Hasheem Thabeet and Daniel Orton.
Perkins had wrist and groin surgeries this summer, but he's expected to be fully healthy for the regular season. "The center position over here is mine and that's the way we're going to keep it," said Perkins. As long as he's healthy, there's no reason to bother with Aldrich, Thabeet or Orton in fantasy leagues.

Cole Aldrich (personal) returned to the Thunder on Wednesday.

Wed Jan 11 201208:02Cole Aldrich (personal) uncertain for Weds.
Cole Aldrich (personal) did not travel with the Thunder on Tuesday and his status for Wednesday's game is unknown.
Aldrich has appeared in five games this season and is averaging less than five minutes of playing time per game, rendering him completely irrelevant in fantasyland.

Tue Jul 19 201110:48Aldrich still a big part of OKC's plans
Beat writer Darnell Mayberry believes Cole Aldrich could beat out Nazr Mohammed for the backup center job behind Kendrick Perkins.
The Thunder traded up to get Aldrich with the No. 11 pick in the 2010 draft. He showed some talent in the D-League last year, averaging 10.3 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.6 blocks in 21 games for the Tulsa 66ers. Mohammed was signed to a one-year deal, so Aldrich's time is coming either way.

Tue May 31 201114:16Aldrich ahead of Mullens on OKC depth chart?
According to Thunder beat writer John Rohde, Cole Aldrich has passed Byron Mullens on the Oklahoma City depth chart at the center position.
This shouldn't be a big surprise, as Mullens has been relegated to obscurity since joining the Thunder. It says more about Mullens as a player than it does about Aldrich considering the rookie spent time bouncing between the big club and the D-League, but neither one is going to make a major impact at any point soon for the club.

Wed Apr 13 201116:20Thunder recalls Aldrich from D-League
The Thunder have recalled Cole Aldrich from the Tulsa 66ers of the D-League.
The No. 11 overall pick in last year's draft has appeared in 18 games for Oklahoma City as a rookie, averaging 1.0 points and 1.9 rebounds per game.

Wed Mar 30 201113:40Thunder re-assign Cole Adrich to D-League
The Oklahoma City Thunder have reassigned Cole Aldrich to the Tulsa 66ers of the D-League.
Aldrich wasn't seeing any time in the Thunder and this move should allow him to get some experience. He obviously has no value this season.

Wed Feb 2 201117:37Thunder recall Aldrich from D-League
The Thunder recalled Cole Aldrich from the D-League.
Aldrich has averaged 10.2 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.4 blocks in his 10 games in the D-League, but Oklahoma City's rotation is set for now and there's little chance that the rookie gets a chance to play significant minutes this season.
