Mon Jan 7 201311:08Hornets sign Donald Sloan to 10-day deal
Hornets sign G Donald Sloan to a 10-day contract.
The move was expected and is now official. Sloan couldn't beat out Jeremy Pargo in Cleveland, so he's not going to make an impact with the Hornets, either.

Sun Jan 6 201317:28Hornets expected to sign Donald Sloan
The Hornets are expected to sign Donald Sloan.
He couldn't beat out Jeremy Pargo to be Kyrie Irving's backup and Sloan will now have to compete with Brian Roberts for minutes. Roberts has been solid in his rookie season, so there's not a lot to like with Sloan.

Sat Dec 8 201222:49Donald Sloan shoots poorly in Cavs' loss
Donald Sloan made just 1-of-6 shots in 21 minutes vs. the Pistons, finishing the home loss with two points, four rebounds and two assists.
Sloan's streak of double-digit scoring performances ended at two. His role, backing up Jeremy Pargo at PG, is too limited for use in average fantasy leagues.

Mon Nov 5 201217:17NBA warns Sloan, Barea about flopping
The NBA issued a warning to Donald Sloan and J.J. Barea on Monday about flopping.
Sloan's flop was particularly audacious -- he's on the bubble in Cleveland's rotation, and this isn't what he wanted to be his standout moment from Week 1.

Sun Oct 28 201214:28Cavaliers name Donald Sloan backup PG
The Cavaliers have named Donald Sloan as their backup PG behind Kyrie Irving.
Sloan beat out Jeremy Pargo for the job, though Pargo will remain with the team as emergency backcourt depth. This is a nice turn of events for Sloan, a former D-League call-up, but he still won't have fantasy relevance while Irving is healthy.

Wed Oct 24 201208:27Donald Sloan has leg up on Jeremy Pargo
Donald Sloan reportedly has a leg up on Jeremy Pargo for the backup PG position.
Neither player is relevant to fantasy owners with Kyrie Irving entrenched as the starting point guard, but if Irving were to ever go down for an extended period, the winner of the backup PG battle would be looking at extended minutes.

Wed Oct 17 201210:33Donald Sloan, Jeremy Pargo in competition
Donald Sloan and Jeremy Pargo are in a competition to back up Kyrie Irving.
Irving is expected to play about 36 minutes per night, so the guy who wins the job isn't going to be relevant to fantasy owners. The Cavs could also explore bringing in more depth at the position, an idea the team had toyed with previously.

Thu Aug 23 201209:29Cavs expected to bring in another point guard
The Cavs are expected to bring in another point guard before training camp begins.
With just Donald Sloan and Jeremy Pargo sitting behind Kyrie Irving (hand), the Cavs could target a veteran who has more experience. As long as Irving is healthy and stays on the court, no PG behind him in Cleveland will be a factor for fantasy owners.

Sat Apr 14 201221:32Donald Sloan plays 31 minutes in win
Donald Sloan played 31 minutes and hit 6-of-10 shots for 13 points, three rebounds and four assists in Saturday's win over the Wizards.
Sloan looked very good tonight, and his strong play limited the run of Lester Hudson, who had 10 points in just 19 minutes. Kyrie Irving's return next week would be a blow to Sloan, but he should at least split time with Irving when it happens.

Fri Apr 13 201222:25Sloan posts nice low-end line on Friday
Donald Sloan scored 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting (no threes) with four rebounds and five assists in the Cavs' blowout loss to the Pacers on Friday.
Sloan logged 31 minutes to Lester Hudson's 19 minutes, but this is the first game in a while in which Sloan has been the better play. Anthony Parker played just 18 minutes due to the blowout, scoring seven points on 3-of-6 shooting with five rebounds, one assist, and a three, and Antawn Jamison logged 24 minutes with 12 points, four boards, and a triple of his own.

Tue Apr 10 201221:39Sloan quietly filling in for Kyrie Irving
Donald Sloan had four points, three rebounds, five assists and two steals on 2-of-5 shooting in Tuesday's win over the Bobcats.
It looked like Sloan was the guy to pick up after he went off for 12 points and eight assists last Wednesday, but Lester Hudson has easily been the better player. Sloan is still averaging seven points, 8.5 assists, 3.0 rebounds and a steal per game over his last four, giving him some value as long as Irving is out.

Sun Apr 8 201221:19Donald Sloan hands out 13 assists in OT loss
Donald Sloan made another start at point guard on Sunday and handed out a career-high 13 assists in the overtime loss to the Nets.
He hit just 3-of-13 shots for six points, but logged 45 minutes and could continue to start the rest of the way with Kyrie Irving's season possibly over due to a shoulder injury. If you need a starting point guard, Sloan's a sneaky pickup with five games in the upcoming week.

Wed Apr 4 201223:13Donald Sloan gets start for Kyrie Irving
Donald Sloan got the start for injured Kyrie Irving, who could miss up to 10 days with a shoulder injury, and had 12 points and eight assists on 5-of-12 shooting in a loss to the Bucks.
Sloan is worth a look in most leagues with Irving out, and played very well tonight. He could start for the next five games or so, as the Cavs are in no rush to hurry Irving back onto the floor after he aggravated his injury on Tuesday. And with five games next week and Daniel Gibson done for the year, Sloan should get all the minutes he can handle. Pick him up if you need a point guard.

Sat Mar 31 201222:16Donald Sloan impressive in start for Cavs
Cavaliers rookie Donald Sloan made a rare start at PG for injured Kyrie Irving (shoulder) on Saturday, finishing with 10 points (5-of-10 FGs), seven rebounds, four assists, two steals and three turnovers in 35 minutes.
This was an encouraging performance, but Irving is day-to-day which means Sloan is untouchable in average leagues. He's shooting just 35 percent from the field in limited minutes this season, and he doesn't have 3-point range (1-of-11 from downtown all season).

Fri Mar 16 201209:47Donald Sloan reportedly headed to Cavs
Donald Sloan will reportedly sign with the Cavaliers.
The Cavs need a backup point guard with Ramon Sessions now on the Lakers, and Sloan told a local newspaper Cleveland would sign him out of the D-League. He won't have fantasy value behind Rookie of the Year favorite Kyrie Irving.

Tue Feb 21 201207:34Hornets to sign Donald Sloan to another deal
The Hornets will reportedly sign G Donald Sloan to a second 10-day contract.
New Orleans will use Sloan as depth behind Jarrett Jack and Greivis Vasquez, but he is not worth consideration in fantasy leagues.
