Wed Feb 16 201101:36Watson plays 36 minutes in small lineup
Earl Watson played a whopping 36 minutes against the Suns on Tuesday, who employ a smaller lineup, and finished with 11 points on 3-of-8 shooting (including three treys) with three rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
It also helped that Ronnie Price, Andrei Kirilenko, and Raja Bell were all out. Should that stay the same against the Warriors on Wednesday, feel free to give Watson a look in a spot-start. The dynamics of the game should be mostly the same.
Sun Feb 6 201103:22Watson done being valuable in fantasy for now
Earl Watson finally fizzled out on Saturday, scoring two points on free throws with one rebound and two assists in 15 minutes off the bench.
He was productive in fill-in action while Deron Williams was out, and even had a nice game in Deron's first game back, but this is more in line with what we are expecting of him, barring injuries.
Sat Feb 5 201102:32Watson posts productive line off the bench
Earl Watson, who was replaced in the lineup by Deron Williams (wrist), managed to post eight points on 3-of-7 shooting (including two threes) with six rebounds and six assists in 23 minutes off the bench.
Unless he was stuck in your lineup in a weekly format, this line probably won't mostly to waste. Unfortunately for Watson, it's not very likely that he can keep this racket up coming off the bench.
Thu Feb 3 201101:54Utah's Watson flirts with triple-double
Earl Watson made another start in place of injured Deron Williams and nearly messed around and got a triple-double, finishing with 11 points, nine rebounds, eight assists and two steals in a tough loss to the Rockets.
Williams got good news on Wednesday night, as it appears he doesn't need surgery and is listed as day-to-day. As long as you know Williams will miss a game, Watson is worth a spot start. But once Williams is back, Watson will return to his seat on the bench.
Sat Jan 29 201101:24Watson double-doubles in start for Deron
Earl Watson had 10 points and 13 assists on 3-of-8 shooting while filling in for Deron Williams on Friday.
Williams was out with a wrist injury and is day-to-day. Watson didn't do much else, but could make for a decent short-term pickup if we find out Williams will miss more games.
Wed Jan 19 201111:26Earl Watson will start if Williams is out
Coach Jerry Sloan said that Earl Watson will start if Deron Williams (flu) is out Wednesday.
As the elder statesmen, Watson would get the nod over Ronnie Price. Considering the minor nature of Williams' ailment, there's no reason to make any roster moves here. Watson and Price would likely share the load evenly anyway.

Sat Oct 16 201023:37Watson draws the start with D-Will out
Earl Watson drew the start at PG with Deron Williams (calf) out on Saturday, and finished with eight points on 3-of-7 shooting with two rebounds and four assists in 21 minutes.
He's battling Ronnie Price for the backup PG duties, and the two played to a draw tonight as Price dished out seven assists to go with two points and two rebounds. If Williams was to ever get seriously injured, it's entirely likely that they would split the starting job.
Sun Sep 26 201014:40Earl Watson officially signs w/ Jazz
Veteran PG Earl Watson has officially signed with the Jazz and will be at training camp on Monday.
Watson is a pest defensively and is a capable playmaker, giving the Jazz some veteran insurance behind Deron Williams. But unless D-Will goes down there's no reason to touch Watson on draft day.

Mon Sep 20 201021:05Earl Watson to sign guaranteed deal w/ Jazz
Earl Watson has agreed to sign a guaranteed deal with the Jazz.
This could be bad news for Sundiata Gaines or Ronnie Price, as Watson could end up as the primary back up for Deron Williams.

Thu Sep 16 201016:03Jazz work out Earl Watson, others
The Jazz are said to be working out point guard Earl Watson, who played for the Pacers last season.
Just another place where Watson will be buried on the bench, although he would probably quickly become Deron Williams' primary back up at point guard if he makes the team.

Tue May 25 201010:11Pacers still interested in Watson?
The Pacers still have interest in re-signing Earl Watson, but they'll "only go so far financially," according to beat writer Mike Wells.
The Pacers' hand may be forced by A.J. Price's recent knee injury. They have no point guards under contract now and Watson is a solid veteran.

Fri Apr 9 201022:27Watson worth a look
Earl Watson had 16 points, 10 assists, two 3-pointers and two steals in Friday's win over the Cavs.
Watson needs to be on the radar of teams in search of assists/steals down the stretch. He's playing 33-39 minutes nightly and has the potential to drop double-digit dimes at any time. His scoring will be inconsistent.
