Sun Nov 18 201222:12Brandon Bass struggles for Cs on Sunday
Brandon Bass struggled in another start on Sunday, scoring six points with two rebounds and four personal fouls.
Between the foul trouble and a lopsided score, Bass wound up playing only 17 minutes. Jared Sullinger, who has been a thorn in his side all season, took advantage with 16 points in 27 minutes.

Sat Nov 17 201215:18Brandon Bass doesn't do much in 24 minutes
Brandon Bass played 24 minutes and scored six points adding three rebounds and two blocks in a win over the Raptors on Saturday.
This was his fifth single-digit scoring output on the season and he has failed to hit double-digit rebounds in any of his nine November games. He logged 32 minutes per game in his four previous game, so he has some low-level value in standard leagues. We wouldn't fault you for cutting him in favor of hunting for upside, though.

Fri Nov 16 201200:00Brandon Bass scores eight in start
Brandon Bass played 30 minutes in the starting role on Thursday and had eight points and five boards against the Nets.
He didn't shoot the ball well by only making 4-of-14 attempts from the field. Doc Rivers is going to probably drive his owners crazy, so he's not a must-own player despite the recent starting status.

Tue Nov 13 201202:01Bass scores 16 points on Monday
Brandon Bass scored 16 points on 5-of-6 shooting with five rebounds, three assists, one steal, and two blocks in 34 minutes on Monday against the Bulls.
Bass injured his right ring finger during the game, left for a bit, then returned to finish the game. He also had X-rays taken that were negative. All in all, being in many starting lineups due to the Celtics' five-game week, owners have to be thrilled with the developments.

Mon Nov 12 201220:32Brandon Bass injures hand in Monday's game
Brandon Bass injured his right hand during the first half of Monday's game.
He has been sitting on the bench with his fingers taped up and icing it, so that's not necessarily a bad sign. Jared Sullinger and Jeff Green would likely pick up some of Bass' 28.3 minutes per game. Stay tuned.

Sun Nov 11 201200:01Bass scores 8 and grabs 7 boards on Saturday
Brandon Bass got the start on Saturday and scores eight points, grabbed seven rebounds and blocked one shot in 31 minutes.
He had a worse game on Friday with eight points and two boards, so tonight's line was progress. Jared Sullinger had just two points in only seven minutes tonight. Doc Rivers is going to drive owners crazy all year, so it's not exactly a wild idea to cut Bass in 12-team leagues.

Sat Nov 10 201201:26Bass scores eight points with two turnovers
Brandon Bass scored eight points off the bench on Friday, hitting 2-of-7 shots with just two rebounds and one block in 23 minutes.
Bass' value has gone in the tank not because of Jared Sullinger (four points, four boards, one block, 19 minutes), but because he has been ineffective and inconsistent. He is clinging onto 12-team value by a strand.

Sat Nov 3 201218:09Brandon Bass will come off the bench Saturday
Brandon Bass will come off the bench against the Wizards on Saturday.
Bass played 27 and 28 minutes in the first two games and averaged 12.5 points and 8.5 boards in that span. He'll likely do enough damage with the second unit and owners in shallow leagues should at least see how he does before making a hasty decision.

Tue Oct 30 201222:54Brandon Bass quietly double-doubles
Brandon Bass not only started over Jared Sullinger, but had 15 points and 11 rebounds on 6-of-11 shooting in Tuesday's win.
Sullinger saw just eight minutes off the bench and scored two points. Bass isn't going to block many shots for a power forward, but is capable of a double-double every night. If you need a big man, give him a look on your waiver wire.

Tue Oct 30 201218:56Brandon Bass will start at PF vs. Heat
Brandon Bass will start at PF against the Heat on Tuesday.
Jared Sullinger and Jeff Green were also in contention to start, and Doc Rivers has said he'll keep the spot open and rotate personnel into the starting five based upon matchups. If you own Bass, tonight's as good a night as any to plug him into your lineups.

Wed Oct 24 201209:44Report: Brandon Bass favorite to start opener
Brandon Bass, and not rookie Jared Sullinger, is reportedly the favorite to start on opening night against the Heat.
Doc Rivers hasn't revealed which forward will start yet, but beat writer A. Sherrod Blakely believes it will be Bass. Blakely notes that seeing Sullinger matched up defensively against LeBron on opening night would be too tall of a task, and Bass previously defended LeBron during the Eastern Conference finals. As a starting PF last season, Bass averaged 13.1 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.1 blocks on 47.4 percent shooting.

Sun Oct 21 201222:34Brandon Bass (knee) makes surprise return
Brandon Bass (knee) returned to action on Sunday, starting at PF and playing 26 minutes in a loss to the 76ers.
Bass finished with 10 points, four rebounds and two blocks, even though he was supposed to be held out as a precaution. He's healthy, but his murky role this year should give fantasy owners pause -- he could start at PF on a routine basis, but he may also shift to a bench role when the Celtics go big.

Sat Oct 20 201218:35Bass will miss Saturday's preseason game
Brandon Bass (knee) will not play against the Knicks on Saturday.
Bass left Thursday's game with a knee bruise and did not return. The Celtics are being cautious and he is day to day. He offers so upside at the end of drafts even though Jared Sullinger could steal some of his minutes.

Fri Oct 19 201208:50Bass' injury to same knee as last season
Brandon Bass' knee injury is to the same knee he had problems with last season.
Bass "aggravated" the knee on Thursday, and it's his right knee that's the troublesome area for Bass. Given his prior problems with the area and the fact that Jared Sullinger is challenging him for the starting PF spot, we're targeting guys with a higher upside toward the end of fantasy drafts.

Fri Oct 19 201202:37Bass leaves game with knee injury
Brandon Bass left Thursday's preseason game against the Nets in the first half with a right knee bruise and did not return.
The injury is not believed to be serious and Bass is expected to play on Saturday. He finished with two points, two rebounds and four assists in 14 minutes, and beat reporters are split on whether or not he or rookie Jared Sullinger will earn the starting job. Bass was a low-end value with little upside before Sullinger started earning his stripes, and we're looking at higher upside targets at the end of standard league drafts.

Tue Oct 16 201209:17Brandon Bass focused on improving rebounding
Brandon Bass said that his sole goal for the season is to "be a better rebounder."
Bass, who came off the bench again in Monday's preseason game behind rookie Jared Sullinger, said that he really wants to improve his impact on the glass after averaging a career-high 6.2 rebounds last season. He said all the right things about his role, and it looks like Sullinger has a real shot to start over him during the regular season.

Fri Oct 12 201215:18Bass not guaranteed to start this season
Power forward Brandon Bass appears to be locked into a position battle with rookie Jared Sullinger and it's unknown who will start on opening night.
Bass is still the favorite to win the job, but Sullinger is playing very well and has created a tough decision for Doc Rivers. We're going to leave Bass as the No. 1 PF in depth charts, but it's possible Sullinger could win the job. Stay tuned.

Wed Oct 10 201214:23Doc Rivers may make changes to starting five
Doc Rivers "hinted" at changes to the Celtics' projected lineup on Wednesday, and it's possible that Brandon Bass will move to a bench role.
Darko Milicic and Jared Sullinger are possibilities to start alongside Kevin Garnett, but we're not too worried about Bass' outlook just yet. KG's ability to stay healthy while battling centers on a nightly basis could weigh into Rivers' thinking, but at the moment KG and Bass are still our best guess as the starting frontcourt. Rivers said he could deploy three different starting lineups, an interesting wrinkle which is sure to infuriate fantasy owners throughout the season.

Fri Sep 28 201223:20Bass says he's working on his ball-handling
Brandon Bass said Friday that he has been working on his ball-handling, defense, and rebounding over the summer.
Make no mistake, this is not news and normally not worth a blurb. In fact, most of what you read this week during the throng of media days is a bunch of hot air. That said, Bass is a near-lock for late round value and has mid-round upside, as the shallow Celtics just paid the man and will need 30 mpg from him or more per night. As for the ball-handling, the man nicknamed "No Pass Bass" said he "isn't the PG" and nobody should expect a jump in assists or anything.

Sat Jul 14 201212:41Celts, Brandon Bass officially sign contract
The Celtics and Brandon Bass have officially signed a three-year contract worth approximately $20 million.
Bass had the best season of his NBA career last year, and in 37 starts at PF he averaged 13.1 points on 47.4 percent FGs and 81.6 percent FTs, 6.1 rebounds, 0.7 steals and 1.1 blocks. For about $6.5 million per season, Boston could have done worse (see: Carl Landry's next contract).
