Thu Jul 5 201216:06Free agent Brandon Bass returning to Celtics
Free agent Brandon Bass has come to terms on a three-year deal to return to the Celtics.
This is big news for Boston, as Bass became a rebouding force and solid defender for the Celtics last season. And as long as the Celtics don't get a big-named center, look for Kevin Garnett to spend a lot of time at center, meaning they'll need Bass to play heavy minutes at PF again.

Mon Jul 2 201210:37Brandon Bass drawing heavy interest
Brandon Bass is drawing interest from six teams not including the Celtics.
Bass opted out of the final year of his deal which called for him to make more than $4 million, so retaining him is not going to come at a cheap price for the Celtics. Given the other areas of need on the roster, it wouldn't be surprising to see Bass' tenure in Boston last for just one season.

Sat Jun 16 201210:38Brandon Bass opts out of final year w/ Celts
Brandon Bass has decided to opt out of the final year of his contract with Boston, but he hopes to re-sign with the Celtics.
Bass posted career-highs with 12.5 points and 6.2 rebounds this season, and wants to cash in with a long-term deal. He'll undoubtedly get some lucrative offers, and it will be interesting to see how much the Celts are willing to spend to retain their somewhat undersized PF.

Sun Jun 10 201209:36Brandon Bass mulling $4.3 million option
Brandon Bass, who has a $4.3 million player option for the 2012-13 season, said he "expects" to return to the Celtics.
Bass may opt to secure a longer-term contract, but either way he seems eager to build on his time with the Celtics. "I would love to be back [in Boston]," he said. "The fans are unbelievable. I think for any player, this organization is the organization that you want to play for." He averaged 12.5 points and 6.2 rebounds per game this season, both career-highs.

Sat Jun 2 201209:56Brandon Bass struggling vs. small Heat lineup
Brandon Bass had only four points and four rebounds during Game 3, making 1-of-3 FGs while racking up five personal fouls in 17 minutes.
Bass is averaging just 7.3 points in the series, which is rather surprising since he came in eager to exploit the absence of Chris Bosh. Instead, he's been stifled by smaller defenders (primarily Shane Battier) and was benched in favor of Boston's smaller lineups on Friday.

Mon May 21 201222:18Bass' 27 points lead the way; BOS leads 3-2
Brandon Bass tied a career-high with 27 points on 9-of-13 shooting (9-of-10 from the foul line), six rebounds, two steals, and two blocks in the Celtics' 101-85 Game 5 win over the Sixers on Monday.
With just 10 turnovers and advantages across the stat sheet, the Celtics controlled the game and control the series heading back for Wednesday's Game 6. Rajon Rondo went for 13 and 14, Ray Allen continued to be quiet with five points on 2-of-7 shooting, KG scored 20 points with six boards and two steals, Paul Pierce scored 16 points, and Greg Stiemsma showed up with 10 points and three blocks.

Fri Apr 20 201222:14Brandon Bass struggles on Friday night
Brandon Bass struggled to get anything going on Friday, posting 10 points on just 4-of-15 shooting to go along with five rebounds, three assists and two steals.
It's a decent line for Bass, but with the Celtics resting most of their key players, owners were likely expecting more from the power forward. He won't have shooting nights like he did tonight very often.

Tue Apr 17 201206:44Brandon Bass looking to return to Celtics
Brandon Bass said he wants to remain with the Celtics.
Bass has a $4 million player option for next season, but he could choose to opt out and seek a pay raise after his solid inaugural season in Boston. He's averaging 13.3 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in a starting role, and he's carved out a nice role with the Celtics. "I want to be here a long time playing alongside Rondo," Bass said.

Sun Apr 15 201211:08Brandan Bass now hampered by sore hammy
Brandon Bass "tweaked" his hamstring after hyperextending his knee on Friday.
Bass has been playing through soreness in his knee, but it's caused discomfort in his hammy and it's been "bothering" him as a result. It doesn't sound like he's in danger of missing any time, but owners need to keep in mind that he's less than 100 percent.

Sat Apr 14 201222:15Brandon Bass double-doubles in win
Brandon Bass had 18 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks in Saturday's win.
He is dealing with a sore knee, but has really come through for his owners in this five-game week by playing through it. Hopefully he'll give it a go again on Sunday against the Bobcats, but it's possible the Celtics could go with a skeleton crew against the D-League imitators.

Sat Apr 14 201219:00Brandon Bass to play through knee injury
Brandon Bass will play through his sore knee on Saturday against the Nets.
It doesn't sound like he was ever in real danger of missing it, but the Celtics are playing their fourth game in five nights today, and then go again on Sunday.

Fri Apr 13 201223:03Bass plays 32 minutes after tweaking knee
Brandon Bass, who tweaked his knee on Wednesday, scored 10 points and grabbed three rebounds in 32 minutes of action on Friday as the Celtics fell to the Raptors.
While the numbers were modest, it's a good sign that Bass was able to play his full complement of minutes. He should be just fine.

Wed Apr 11 201223:39Bass (21 & 10) racks up another double-double
Brandon Bass recorded another double-double on Wednesday, scoring 21 points on 10-of-17 shooting to go along with 10 rebounds, one assist and one block.
The Celtics are currently in the midst of a five game week, and Bass is off to a great start with two consecutive double-doubles thus far. He appeared to tweak his left knee late in the game, but was able to shake it off and remain on the floor. It doesn't appear to be anything major, but owners should keep an eye on it just in case.

Sun Apr 8 201221:16Brandon Bass plays well again for Celtics
Brandon Bass had 18 points, six rebounds and a block on 8-of-10 shooting in 33 minutes on Sunday.
He continues to start for the Celtics and is playing well, except for Saturday's dud against the Pacers when he was 0-for-6. With five games next week, he looks like an excellent option for owners in need of a power forward.

Fri Apr 6 201200:44Bass scores 15 points with five boards
Brandon Bass scored 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting with five rebounds, three steals, and one block in 34 minutes on Thursday against the Bulls.
Bass hyperextended his left knee but the situation doesn't appear serious. Owners can use him as they normally heard absent a different report.

Thu Apr 5 201223:27Bass suffers hyperextended knee; not serious
Brandon Bass suffered a hyperextended left knee in Thursday's game but the injury doesn't appear to be serious.
If he misses his next shift we'll let you know, but all signs point to the injury being a non-issue.

Thu Mar 22 201223:01Bass turns ankle; double-doubles in win
Brandon Bass turned his left ankle in Thursday's win, but didn't leave the bench area and finished out the game with 12 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block in 37 minutes.
Bass hit just 6-of-16 shots, but avoided serious injury and that's really the only concern for owners in the long run. The Celtics are so bare in the frontcourt that Bass would need to fall off a cliff to fall off owners' rosters.

Sun Mar 18 201200:16Brandon Bass eaten alive by the Manimal
Brandon Bass finished Saturday's loss with just six points on 2-of-9 shooting, adding two rebounds and one block in 28 minutes.
Bass was out-hustled, out-muscled and out-tussled by the Manimal, a.k.a. Kenneth Faried. Look for him to bounce back vs. the Hawks on Monday.

Sat Mar 17 201202:15Bass scores 16, but has just one rebound
Brandon Bass hit 7-of-11 shots to score 16 points on Friday, and added two steals and a block, but managed just one rebound in 32 minutes of a blowout loss to the Kings.
Not much in this blurb makes sense, as the Celtics were dismantled by the Kings, and Bass played a majority of the game, yet could only stumble into one rebound. He'll be much better than this on most night, came in averaging seven boards over his last five, and should continue to be one of the hottest pickups off waiver wires by owners in need of a power forward.
