Sat Jan 7 201223:31Kosta Koufos limited despite start for Denver
Kosta Koufos started in place of injured Nene (heel) on Saturday, but was scoreless in seven minutes.
This dud shouldn't have affected any fantasy owners, as Koufos clearly isn't a reliable fantasy option. He is averaging 0.6 steals and 0.8 blocks in just 14 minutes per game, however, so keep an eye on him if Nene's injury becomes a long-term issue.

Thu Jan 5 201201:14Koufos double-doubles with Nene (foot) out
Kosta Koufos double-doubled with Nene (foot) out on Wednesday against the Kings, scoring 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting with 11 rebounds, one steal, and five turnovers in 24 minutes.
Koufos may have produced more if the game hadn't gotten out of hand, but then again on most nights the Nuggets won't face such a poorly playing team. Nene's foot injury has raised one eyebrow over here as we await further details, and if news comes back bad for whatever reason Koufos could be an interesting pickup.

Tue Jan 3 201202:34Koufos starts for injured Nene (foot)
Kosta Koufos started for injured Nene (foot) on Monday, scoring eight points on 3-of-4 shooting with six rebounds, a steal, and a block in 19 minutes.
This is a good baseline expectation of what Koufos can bring in a spot start for Nene, and Koufos actually had a few bigger games during the preseason. Other than spot starts in deeper formats, Koufos can be ignored barring a major injury to Nene.

Fri Dec 23 201102:15Koufos double-doubles in Thursday's finale
Kosta Koufos started for Nene (back, hamstring) in Thursday's preseason finale, and scored 15 points on 5-of-10 shooting with 11 rebounds, one assist, one steal, and two blocks.
Not a bad effort for a guy that fouled out in just 25 minutes, but we're going to remember his body of NBA work before jumping to conclusions. It doesn't hurt that it was a preseason game against the Suns, either. Koufos plays behind Timofey Mozgov, who has yet to do anything to distinguish himself at the NBA level, either.

Sun Dec 4 201109:50Kosta Koufos to play big minutes for Denver?
If Nene does not re-sign with the Nuggets, Kosta Koufos could start at PF.
This comes straight from the mouth of coach George Karl, who added that Al Harrington and Chris Andersen would also get consideration for the starting job. "We're not afraid to play small...Kosta is going to be given a lot of minutes this year," said Karl. He played just nine minutes per game last year, but Koufos is a legit seven-footer and is worth watching as a super-sleeper in Denver.

Tue Apr 12 201114:41Koufos among starters for Nuggets Wednesday
Kosta Koufos, who tied a career high with 18 points on Monday, will start for the Nuggets in Wednesday's finale against the Jazz, his former team.
Ty Lawson, Gary Forbes, Wilson Chandler and Al Harrington will round out the starting five, as Danilo Gallinari, Arron Afflalo and Nene will rest with their various injuries. Koufos is suddenly very intriguing, as he's not only starting but will certainly be trying to prove a point to the team that drafted him.

Tue Apr 12 201100:40Koufos ties career high with 18 in win
Kosta Koufos played just 19 minutes but hit 6-of-8 shots to tie his career high with 18 points to go along with nine rebounds in a win over the Warriors Monday.
Leave it to the Warriors to give up this kind of line to Koufos. Maybe he's worth a look on Wednesday, but our guess is he simply got hot tonight. We're going to call it a 'GSW Fluke.'

Tue Feb 22 201120:06Report: Koufos traded to the Nuggets
Kosta Koufos was traded to the Nuggets as an addendum to the Carmelo Anthony trade on Tuesday.
The Wolves didn't need the big man depth after picking up Anthony Randolph, and in the process shed his salary and get an unprotected second round pick from the Nuggets. On the other hand, the Nuggets are putting together some semblance of a frontcourt, as it remains to be seen if Nene will be traded.

Sun Dec 19 201002:59Koufos starts for Darko, Pekovic (ankles)
Kosta Koufos started for injured Darko Milicic (ankle) and Nikola Pekovic (ankle) on Saturday, and scored four points on 2-of-5 shooting with 10 rebounds, one assist, and three blocks in 21 foul-plagued minutes.
Darko says he "hopes" to play Monday, but Pekovic sounds like he could be out a while longer. If Darko doesn't play, then Koufos could be worth a look in deeper formats if you need rebounds and blocks.
Sat Dec 18 201001:17Kosta Koufos plays well for Wolves
Kosta Koufos had six points, 11 rebounds and a block in Friday's loss.
He was called into action when both Darko Milicic and Nikola Pekovic went down early with ankle injuries. If those two are going to miss time, Koufos could be worth a short-term add in deeper leagues.
Fri Oct 29 201012:35Wolves center Kosta Koufos out Friday
Timberwolves center Kosta Koufos may sit out Friday's game with a touch of food poisoning.
Koufos provides some extra depth for Minnesota's frontcourt but shouldn't be in any fantasy lineups anyway. He's already facing stiff competition for minutes, battling Oleksiy Pecherov and Nikola Pekovic for the honor of backing up Darko Milicic. Yikes.

Tue Oct 19 201023:40Koufos playes well in start for Wolves
Kosta Koufos started in place of injured Darko Milicic Tuesday and had 10 points, six rebounds and two blocks in the loss.
Koufos has no fantasy value as long as Darko (neck, shoulder) is starting for the Wolves.
Tue Jul 13 201020:30Kosta Koufos a late throw-in for Wolves
Kosta Koufos was dealt to the Timberwolves along with a pair of draft picks in the Al Jefferson trade.
Of course he was, as the Wolves didn't have enough European big-man projects lined up already. You may not know the names Koufos, Oleksiy Pecherov, Darko Milicic, Nikola Pekovic, Paulao Prestes, Nemanja Bjelica and Greg Stiemsma now, and outside of Darko, you probably won't know any of them a year from now, either.
