Tue Mar 12 201300:58Kosta Koufos has career-night with 22 and 10
Kosta Koufos scored a career-high 22 points on 10-of-11 shooting with 10 rebounds, one steal and one block over 26 minutes in the Nuggets' win over the Suns on Monday.
Koufos was able to take advantage of a Suns team that only had Hamed Haddadi, Luis Scola and Markieff Morris down low, so owners should keep that in mind when making evaluations. He has picked it up a bit after a slow stretch and is worth a hard look if you need a big man.

Wed Mar 6 201300:35Kosta Koufos goes for 15 & 8 in win
Kosta Koufos had 15 points, eight rebounds and a block in Tuesday's win.
JaVale McGee had eight points, two rebounds and four blocks, but Koufos has been a more reliable fantasy option all season.

Sat Mar 2 201304:19Koufos goes for eight and 13 in win vs. OKC
Kosta Koufos scored eight points on 4-of-8 shooting with 13 rebounds, one steal and three blocks in Friday's win over the Thunder.
Koufos did his damage against known liability Kendrick Perkins, but he has picked things up a bit after a lull that likely caused him to get dropped. If you're in need of a big man especially in a deeper format, give him a look.

Sun Feb 24 201311:34George Karl juggling busy frontcourt rotation
George Karl admitted that his frontcourt has "competition for minutes every night."
"JaVale [McGee] is trying to find that niche to where he can stay on the court a little bit longer, said Karl. "But so is Kenneth Faried, Kosta Koufos, so is [Timofey] Mozgov, and we also have Wilson Chandler, and he's going to have to play up front sometimes." In other words, anyone who owns JaVale or Koufos should exect their minutes to hover around the 20-minute mark.

Tue Feb 12 201322:08Kosta Koufos plays 20 minutes, scores eight
Kosta Koufos played 20 minutes against the Raptors on Tuesday and had eight points, 10 boards, one assist, two steals and one block.
It was a fairly quiet game for him considering that JaVale McGee suffered a tibial injury. Koufos should be in line for more minutes on Wednesday and should be in most standard lineups while McGee is out.

Sat Feb 2 201301:36Koufos slow against the Hornets
Kosta Koufos scored four points on 2-of-4 shooting with five rebounds and two blocks over 22 minutes in Friday's 113-98 win against the Hornets.
Owners were hoping for more with JaVale McGee (shin) out, and it's not a lock for Koufos to pick up McGee's minutes if he continues to miss time. Still, Koufos has been a quality low-end big man this season at times and is worth a look.

Thu Jan 31 201302:31Kosta Koufos quiet in win over Houston
Kosta Koufos had six points, four rebounds, a steal and two blocks on 3-of-3 shooting in 20 minutes on Wednesday.
He had nine points, 11 boards and three blocks in 36 minutes on Monday, and we were expecting more tonight with JaVale McGee still out with a leg injury. Look for Koufos to bounce back on Thursday against the Bulls if McGee is still out.

Tue Jan 29 201300:27Kosta Koufos plays 36 minutes against Indy
Kosta Koufos played 36 minutes against the Pacers and had nine points, 11 boards and three blocks on Monday.
JaVale McGee is out with a leg injury and he'll receive an MRI on Tuesday. Koufos was already owning in standard leagues and McGee being out for multiple games would put him in must-add territory.

Sun Jan 20 201323:18Koufos double-doubles, fouls out in 20 mins
Kosta Koufos scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds vs. the Thunder, but he fouled out in just 21 minutes of action.
This was Koufos' fourth double-double of the season, as his limited minutes typically restrain him to a handful of high-percentage points, rebounds and blocks (though he hasn't blocked a shot in five games). Despite his absence, JaVale McGee (eight points, four rebounds) was nothing but a 7'0" cheerleader during the fourth quarter and overtime.

Sat Jan 19 201302:04Koufos goes for seven and seven on Friday
Kosta Koufos scored seven points with seven rebounds in 25 minutes during Friday's 112-108 loss to the Wizards.
He shot 3-of-5 from the field and made his only free throw, so it wasn't really a bad outing for him. Koufos hasn't blocked a shot in any of his last four games, but George Karl is sticking with him in the starting lineup and he has value in standard leagues. JaVale McGee shot 2-of-7 from the field for six points with three rebounds and one block in only 14 minutes.

Fri Jan 18 201315:24Karl continues to be happy with Koufos
Coach George Karl continued to express his satisfaction with Kosta Koufos' play.
Owners waiting for Koufos to lose his starting job to mega-talented yet bone-headed JaVale McGee shouldn't hold their breath. Koufos has now started all 40 games this season and the Nuggets have won nine of their last 12 games. "I think Kosta continues to find the windows and open spots underneath the defense at a very good level," Karl said. Over his last 10 games, Koufos is averaging 9.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.3 steals, 0.8 blocks and shooting 62.2 percent from the field.

Wed Jan 16 201323:57Koufos goes for 16 points and nine boards
Kosta Koufos made all six of his field goals for 16 points to go with nine boards and one steal in 25 minutes during Wednesday's 117-97 loss to the Thunder.
He played 26 minutes per game in his last 11 games, but he's turned in some nice lines over that span. Koufos has been productive in his three previous games and averaged 12.3 points, 5.3 boards and 1.3 steals. He should be owned in all standard leagues.

Sat Jan 12 201302:01Koufos scores career-high 21 points vs. CLE
Kosta Koufos scored a career-high 21 points on Friday against the Cavs, hitting 10-of-17 shots with six rebounds, one steal, and one block in 34 minutes.
Koufos had cooled off heading into tonight but a matchup with the Cavs' weaker interior defense got him going again. He should be owned in most 12-team formats and he gets a nice bump in 9-cat leagues due to his 0.7 turnovers per game.

Thu Jan 10 201301:16Kosta Koufos finally cools off on Wednesday
Kosta Koufos cooled off on Wednesday with just two points, three boards, two steals and one block in 21 minutes against the Magic.
He was putting up some remarkable numbers in just 24.9 minutes per game in his last 10, averaging 9.8 points on 68 percent shooting, 7.2 boards, 1.6 blocks and 0.8 steals. Koufos owners shouldn't panic and we'd suggest sticking with him. Denver went small and JaVale McGee (six points, three rebounds and one block in 18 minutes) was quiet and is clinging to value in standard leagues.

Fri Jan 4 201300:06Koufos goes off, McGee struggles on Thursday
Kosta Koufos shot 8-of-10 from the field for 16 points to go with seven boards, one assist, four steals and two blocks in 26 minutes against the Wolves on Thursday.
It was his biggest game of the season and he hadn't scored over eight points in his previous three outings. He and JaVale McGee are in a time-share split at center, but Koufos has been able to make a nice case to be owned in standard eight- and nine-cat leagues.

Sat Dec 29 201203:34Koufos quiet against the Mavs
Kosta Koufos scored six points on 3-of-7 shooting with eight rebounds and one block in 25 minutes on Friday against the Mavs.
Koufos has been well worth owning in standard 8- and 9-cat formats over the past few weeks, so owners shouldn't let a slow night get them down. We'll let you know if he falls below the cut line.

Wed Dec 26 201201:19Kosta Koufos double-doubles in ugly loss
Kosta Koufos hit all eight of his shots for 16 points, 10 rebounds, a steal and zero blocks in Tuesday's loss to the Clippers.
Koufos is now averaging 11 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.4 blocks over his last five games, and looks like a better center to own in fantasy than DeAndre Jordan, who just isn't getting enough minutes despite starting for the Clippers.

Sun Dec 23 201200:05Koufos hangs 15 and five blocks on Saturday
Kosta Koufos scored 15 points, grabbed nine rebounds and blocked three shots in 23 minutes against the Bobcats on Saturday.
Koufos has been putting up noticeable value this month, entering Saturday's game with December averages of 8.2 points, 7.7 boards and 2.0 blocks. He's worth a look in deeper leagues, but he's just on the radar in standard leagues for big-needy teams. JaVale McGee played just 18 minutes and had 14 points, three rebounds and one block on Saturday.

Wed Dec 19 201200:42Kosta Koufos grabs 14 boards w/ 4 blocks
Kosta Koufos had four points, 14 rebounds and four blocks in Tuesday's win over the Spurs.
Koufos is averaging seven points, eight boards and 2.4 blocks over his last five games, making him worth a look in deep center leagues. JaVale McGee had 10 points, three boards and three blocks off the bench, but would be a much better option if he could replace Koufos in the starting lineup. However, that appear to be a possibility for now.

Sun Dec 16 201221:25Kosta Koufos solid in blowout win vs. Kings
The Nuggets got a strong game from Kosta Koufos on Sunday, as he racked up 12 points, seven rebounds and one block in just 22 minutes of action.
George Karl is enamored with Koufos' work ethic, rebounding and fundamentals on both ends of the court, and he's been sound enough to fend off JaVale McGee for the starting job. This win was Denver's third straight win, moving them above .500, so there's no reason to expect a lineup change in the near future.
