Wed Nov 7 201209:37Corey Maggette runs for first time on calf
Corey Maggette (calf) ran for the first time since his injury, but he's unlikely to play before next week.
"It's more the explosion," he said. Maggette hasn't practiced since sustaining the injury on October 18, and it's going to take some time for him to find his groove when he ultimately returns. The veteran isn't close yet, but fantasy owners shouldn't be considering him, anyway.

Tue Nov 6 201214:47Corey Maggette (calf) hopes to practice soon
Corey Maggette (calf) hopes to resume practicing in a few days.
The Pistons are averaging 88.0 points per game on 40.3 percent shooting at this early point in the season, and they can use whatever scoring Maggette gives them. Just don't expect him to have any fantasy value.

Corey Maggette (calf) is progressing, but there is still no timetable for his return.
Maggette still hasn't been cleared for full-contact work. "He's just trying (to) get healthy," said Lawrence Frank. We have a feeling we'll be saying that phrase a lot this season with the fragile veteran.

Tue Oct 30 201218:21Maggette (calf) still iffy to play Wednesday
Corey Maggette (strained calf) remains day-to-day in advance of Wednesday's game against Houston.
After sitting out the final three preseason games, Maggette will be rusty even if he does return to action vs. the Rockets. The 32-year-old SF is no longer a viable fantasy option.

Tue Oct 23 201214:25MRI shows slight calf pull for Corey Maggette
Corey Maggette's recent MRI revealed a slight pull in his left calf, and he didn't offer a timetable for his return.
Beat writer Vincent Ellis "wouldn't be surprised if [Maggette] missed the opener," and neither would we. Maggette was "barely walking" on Sunday, and this is a visceral reminder to avoid the injury-prone veteran on draft day.

Sun Oct 21 201204:25Maggette (calf) barely walking on injured leg
Corey Maggette (left calf strain) is scheduled for an MRI and admitted that he is "barely walking" on his injured leg.
Maggette can't even have the MRI for a few days due to swelling, and this has all the ominous signs of a week-to-week injury for the notoriously fragile veteran.

Sat Oct 20 201212:04Maggette to have MRI on strained left calf
Corey Maggette will have an MRI on his strained left calf once the swelling goes down.
Maggette wouldn't speculate as to the severity of the injury, and the MRI is being called a "routine precaution," but fantasy owners know that Maggette's injury history is anything but routine. Even if the MRI comes back clean, the FT specialist should be avoided in fantasy drafts.

Fri Oct 19 201214:59Corey Maggette limping w/ calf injury
Corey Maggette has a left calf strain and was limping on Friday.
The injury is wrapped and he appears to be receiving electric simulants. We'll call him day-to-day for now, but Maggette will likely float on and off of the injury report all season, if history holds true.

Fri Oct 19 201201:51Maggette lasts 2 minutes before calf strain
Corey Maggette lasted two minutes before spraining his ankle in Thursday's exhibition loss.
Maggette didn't return and he has really outdone himself this time. If he were to seriously struggle with injuries this season, it could open up a rotation crowded by mediocre NBA players.

Thu Oct 11 201211:57Corey Maggette scores 10 off bench
Corey Maggette had 10 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals in 22 minutes off the Pistons bench on Wednesday.
He's having a nice training camp and is actually healthy for now, making him worth a late look in deeper leagues. However, he could struggle to produce consistently off the bench, while his next injury is probably just around the corner.

Mon Oct 1 201218:56Corey Maggette ready for Pistons' camp
Corey Maggette (strained Achilles, knee surgery, back) said he is ready to participate fully in the Pistons' training camp.
Lawrence Frank said that he'll monitor Maggette's condition on a daily basis, and could restrict his activity if there are signs that his injuries are lingering. It's an ominous beginning to the season for the oft-injured 32 year old.

Tue Sep 25 201209:24Corey Maggette expected for training camp
Corey Maggette (strained Achilles, knee surgery) is expected to be ready for training camp.
Maggette is currently rehabbing both injuries but he's in the latter stages of that process. He was acquired for his expiring contract, but he's going to be a part of the rotation if he can stay healthy throughout the season. We'd rather take a late-round flier on a guy with more upside.

Sun Aug 19 201214:422012-13 could be Maggette's last season
Corey Maggette may consider retirement after the upcoming season, according to Hoopsworld.
Maggette has been one of the most injured-plagued players in the league has dealt with several hamstring strains while also dealing with a strained Achilles and knee surgery earlier this year. He is one of the best players in the league at getting to the charity stripe, so he still has some fantasy value.

Wed Jun 27 201208:10Pistons officially trade for Corey Maggette
Bobcats trade F Corey Maggette to Pistons for G Ben Gordon and a lottery-protected first round pick.
The deal is now official. Joe Dumars is getting lauded for admitting a mistake with Gordon, and now he's positioned his team to have cap space during the summer of 2013. We'd be more excited about that if Dumars had a better track record in free agency.

Tue Jun 26 201221:09Maggette heading to Pistons in Gordon deal
Corey Maggette has been traded to the Bobcats for Ben Gordon and a protected future first-round draft pick.
Maggette should get some playing time in Detroit, as coach Lawrence Frank seems to like guys who attack the rim, and Maggette shoots a lot of free throws. But this deal was mostly about money, as the Pistons get rid of Gordon's bad contract and pick up Maggette and his expiring deal. Maggette is coming off an Achilles injury and knee surgery, but should be ready for the start of training camp.

Wed May 30 201215:09Maggette, Ty Thomas both amnesty candidates
Corey Maggette (strained Achilles, knee surgery) "should be fine for training camp," but he's been frequently mentioned as a candidate for Charlotte's amnesty clause.
Maggette is still a potent scorer when healthy...but he's rarely healthy. He's owed $10.9 million next season, and the biggest reason he might not be 'amnestied' is that Tyrus Thomas' remaining contract is even worse ($26.7 million over three years).
