Wed Apr 25 201208:43Corey Maggette to have knee surgery soon
Corey Maggette will have knee surgery immediately after the season.
Maggette ended his season with a bad Achilles' tendon, but apparently he'll also have knee surgery as well. He's already been mentioned as a candidate for the amnesty clause, and the oft-injured veteran won't shed that label with an offseason surgery.

Thu Apr 12 201214:13Bobcats could use amnesty on Maggette
Corey Maggette is a candidate for the amnesty provision this offseason, according to beat writer Rick Bonnell.
Maggette is due to make $10.9 million next season, the final year of his contract. He averaged 15.0 points per game in just 27.5 minutes in his first year as a Bobcat, but predictably missed 34 games due to injury. If Maggette ends up amnestied, he'll become an unrestricted free agent.

Thu Apr 12 201211:14Corey Maggette (Achilles) done for the season
Corey Maggette (Achilles) will not play again this season.
Maggette is done for the year, Paul Silas revealed at shootaround on Thursday. He has missed 24 games this season due to various injuries and will now be sidelined for the remainder of the season. Derrick Brown, Matt Carroll and Reggie Williams (when healthy) will all see an increase in minutes.

Tue Apr 10 201221:59Corey Maggette disappears Tuesday
Corey Maggette, who had 23 points on Monday, hit just 1-of-4 shots for four points and one rebound in 16 minutes of Tuesday's loss.
Maybe his Achilles injury was bothering him or maybe he just doesn't care anymore, as the Bobcats are nearly unwatchable. Maggette looked great on Monday and still has three games to put up numbers this week, but he could also be shut down at any moment with his Achilles problem, or some other ailment. Start him at your own risk.

Mon Apr 9 201217:42Corey Maggette a game-time call Monday
Corey Maggette (Achilles) is listed as a game-time call ahead of Monday's game against the Wizards.
Maggette's troublesome Achilles is bothering him after playing 26 minutes on Saturday. He's a weak option at less than 100 percent even if he plays.

Sat Apr 7 201219:34Corey Maggette to return in bench role
Corey Maggette (Achilles) will return to action vs. the Hawks.
Maggette will come off the bench and we're always (justifiably) skeptical of his ability to stay healthy, but with five games next week he's worth watching.

Sat Apr 7 201203:02Maggette (Achilles) dresses on Friday
Corey Maggette (Achilles) dressed for Friday's game but did not play.
We're not sure how close he is to returning, and we know what we would do if we were coaching a Bobcats team needing to develop young talent. But we're not Paul Silas, and he might decide it's time to run Maggette back out there if he's healthy enough to play. Keep an eye on him because if he's healthy we know what he can do.

Tue Apr 3 201219:34Corey Maggette available Tuesday?
Coach Paul Silas said that Corey Maggette (Achilles) is available Tuesday.
This is a strange statement as the team announced Maggette would be out at least one week from Monday. Reggie Williams started at small forward and Derrick Brown was the first swingman off the bench.

Mon Apr 2 201213:17Bobcats confirm Maggette will be out a week
Corey Maggette (Achilles) will be out one week.
The oft-injured Maggette strained his right Achilles' tendon on Friday night and sat out on Saturday. He's one of the game's slower healers, so we can't take this one-week timetable as gospel. Backup small forward Reggie Williams has averaged 12.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.7 3-pointers in his 11 starts this season.

Sat Mar 31 201212:49MRI finds mild Achilles strain for Maggette
An MRI confirmed that Corey Maggette has a "mild" right Achilles strain -- he is listed as day-to-day but could miss at least one week.
The fact that there's no tear is great news for the oft-injured veteran, but owners should move on despite Charlotte's solid fantasy playoff schedule. Reggie Williams, Kemba Walker and Derrick Brown could all step into bigger roles with Maggette out of the picture.

Fri Mar 30 201222:04Corey Maggette (Achilles) out at least a week
Corey Maggette (Achilles) will miss at least a week of time according to coach Paul Silas, and the results of his MRI have yet to be determined.
Reggie Williams (21 minutes) actually did well with his playing time tonight, scoring 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting with one rebound and two assists, but he missed on all three of his 3-point attempts. This could be the nail in the coffin of Maggette's season, and it may also compel Paul Silas to finally give up on that playoff run (hello Kemba). Williams is worth a speculative add in 12-team formats.

Fri Mar 30 201221:23Corey Maggette leaves with Achilles injury
Corey Maggette left Friday night's game with a strained right Achilles tendon and will not return.
Maggette had 19 points on 6-of-18 shooting before departing, but the injury sounds like something that could keep him out for a while. Reggie Williams would be the biggest beneficiary if Maggette misses an extended period of time.

Thu Mar 29 201200:09Corey Maggette heating up again for CHA
Corey Maggette had 22 points, four rebounds, three assists, two steals and a 3-pointer on 7-of-15 shooting.
He played just 16 minutes on Monday, but could be ready to heat up again after tonight's solid line. Maggette's a very tricky fantasy option, as he could be shut down with a bad back or knee at any point, or could go on a scoring tear the rest of the way. With the Bobcats nice weekly schedule (4-5-4) over the next three weeks, he's the epitome of a risk vs. reward fantasy option.

Tue Mar 27 201200:18Corey Maggette lasts jsut 16 minutes
Corey Maggette had just five points and one rebound in 16 minutes on Monday.
Maggette shot 1-for-7 from the field, got three of his shots blocked and racked up five fouls. The only good news for owners is that we haven't heard of any back injury aggravation. Maggette is a decent bet to bounce back against the Timberwolves leaky defense on Wednesday.

Corey Maggette (back) returned to action on Friday, scoring 10 points on 2-of-9 shooting with four rebounds and one assist in 26 minutes.
Maggette is really just a desperation option for the times that he is healthy and productive, as his next injury is just a game away. Reggie Williams never really took advantage of Maggette's absence, and went back to irrelevant with just two points in 17 minutes tonight.

Corey Maggette (back) will play on Friday against the Bucks.
Maggette wasn't able to practice on Wednesday, but he's going to play against his former club on Friday. The veteran will return from his one-game absence to averages of 15.8 points and 4.3 rebounds, sending Reggie Williams back to the bench.

Thu Mar 22 201213:34Maggette skips practice, iffy for Friday
Corey Maggette (back) did not practice on Thursday, but remains hopeful that he'll be able to play on Friday against the Bucks.
Maggette missed Charlotte's last game with the ailment, but it doesn't appear to be overly serious. If he does sit out again, Reggie Williams would likely once again draw the start. Williams had 13 points, six rebounds and a trey in his last start for Maggette.

Tue Mar 20 201216:21Silas hoping to have Maggette Friday
Coach Paul Silas is hopeful that Corey Maggette (back) will be able to play in Friday's game against the Bucks.
This edition of Maggette's back woes doesn't appear overly serious. Silas lamented not having the veteran in Monday's loss to the Sixers, so we can be sure he'll regain the starting small forward gig and 30-minute role once healthy. We'll know more after practices on Wednesday and Thursday.
