Tue Jan 7 201401:04Moe Harkless scores season-high 22 in loss
Moe Harkless played 31 minutes off the bench and hit 7-of-13 shots and two 3-pointers for a season-high 22 points, six rebounds, one assist and two steals in a blowout loss to the Clippers.
It was impossible to see this one coming, as he had scored 4, 2 and 5 points in his previous three games. And as long as Glen Davis, Tobias Harris and Arron Afflalo are healthy, it could be a while before we see another line like this out of Harkless.

Sun Dec 15 201321:51Harkless returns to Magic rotation vs. OKC
Maurice Harkless resurfaced in Orlando's rotation on Sunday, playing 23 minutes to finish with seven points, three rebounds and one steal.
Jacque Vaughn needed another long defender to throw at Kevin Durant, so he plugged in Harkless after giving him a DNP-CD on Saturday. Fantasy owners shouldn't be eager to claim him since there are too many moving pieces in Orlando's frontcourt rotation for Harkless to have reliable value.

Sun Dec 15 201309:54Maurice Harkless a DNP-CD on Saturday
Maurice Harkless was a healthy DNP-CD on Saturday, as Tobias Harris' return bumped him from Orlando's rotation.
Glen Davis also saw his role decrease and watched nearly all of the fourth quarter from the bench, finishing with six points in 23 minutes. We expect Harkless to get playing time eventually, as Orlando still has incentive to develop him, but for now he can be tossed onto the fantasy scrap heap.

Tue Dec 3 201322:41Moe Harkless barely gets off the bench
Moe Harkless barely left the bench in Tuesday's double-overtime loss to the Sixers, playing eight minutes and failing to score.
He was coming off a 16-point game on Monday, but coach Jacque Vaughn went with Ronnie Price for 40 minutes. tonight Harkless is going to have some sporadic playing time with the way Arron Afflalo and Victor Oladipo are playing.

Mon Dec 2 201322:15Moe Harkless has a good game Monday
Moe Harkless scored 16 points against the Wizards on Monday with four boards, one assist, two steals, two blocks and one 3-pointer on 7-of-13 shooting.
He was very confident tonight. Harkless had a lot of isolation plays and he attempted seven shots outside of the paint tonight. That's been a bit of a new wrinkle to his game, but he's been solid on the season, making 40 percent of all of his shots outside of the paint before tonight. The loss of Jameer Nelson has helped his value, so he is a decent player to spot-start on Tuesday against the Sixers. He was coming in cold before Jameer Nelson went down, so his long-term value isn't exactly soaring with Arron Afflalo and Victor Oladipo not likely to lose minutes.

Sun Nov 24 201320:27Moe Harkless held to season-low 15 minutes
Moe Harkless started but played a season-low 15 minutes vs. the Suns, less playing time than reserves Glen Davis, Andrew Nicholson and Tobias Harris.
Harkless' starting job isn't safe and as this game shows, neither is his playing time. He hasn't been a fantasy asset in close to 30 minutes per game to this point, and owners can safely cut him for a more promising player.

Sat Nov 16 201321:54Moe Harkless plays well in Magic loss
Moe Harkless hit 4-of-10 shots for 12 points, six rebounds and three assists in Saturday's loss to the Mavs.
Harkless is starting to come on a bit, scoring between 10 and 12 points in each of his last three games, which also hauling down nearly seven boards per game during that stretch. He stands to take a hit once Tobias Harris is back in action, but as Harris' owners can attest, when he's coming back is anyone's guess.

Mon Nov 11 201323:28Harkless active in Monday's loss
Moe Harkless showed some life on Monday after a quiet couple of nights, scoring 12 points on 4-of-10 shooting with five rebounds, one assist, one steal and two 3-point buckets.
Harkless logged 27 minutes and owners should get used to oscillating lines until 1-2 starters clear out of the rotation ahead of him. He profiles well as a post All-Star play.

Fri Nov 8 201323:50Moe Harkless has another off night Friday
Moe Harkless had his second quiet game in a row on Friday with four points, five boards, two assists, one block and no turnovers on 1-of-4 shooting.
He attempted just three shots on Wednesday and the team hasn't exactly been leaning on him on the offensive side of things. Harkless is one of the worst shooters in the game, making just 13.0 percent of his shots from 16-23 feet last season. He's going to have a lot of off nights until the Magic go in all-out tank mode and trade some of their pieces.

Fri Nov 1 201323:32Harkless scores 20 points with eight rebounds
Moe Harkless scored 20 points on 6-of-10 shooting (2-of-4 from deep, 6-of-8 from the line) with eight rebounds, four steals and six turnovers in 27 minutes on Friday.
It was a sloppy outing but a productive one, nonetheless. He's going to be up and down and things might get lean when Tobias Harris and Big Baby return, but in general his arrow will point up all year long and he should be owned in most formats.

Tue Oct 29 201322:57Moe Harkless has a solid start to season
Moe Harkless scored 14 points in the Magic's 87-97 loss to the Pacers on Tuesday, adding one board, one steal and two 3-pointers in 24 minutes.
He had his hands full with Paul George tonight, but he wasn't too shabby on offense. Six of Harkless' 13 shot attempts tonight came from within three feet of the hoop, which has been his calling card thanks to a sub-par jumper. He'll be worth owning in most leagues for defensive stats, but he's not going to help owners in the percentages departments.

Sat Oct 26 201309:08Report: Magic to option Maurice Harkless
According to reports, the Orlando Magic plan to exercise their third-year team option on Maurice Harkless.
The Magic have until October 31st to exercise the option or Harkless would become a restricted free agent next July. Keep an eye on him in the late-rounds of drafts. He should be a reliable source for steals, while also pitching in other categories.

Tue Oct 22 201322:59Moe Harkless plays well in another start
Moe Harkless hit 6-of-13 shots and a 3-pointer for 14 points, four rebounds and two assists.
Despite missing three starters, all five Magic starters hit double digits in scoring tonight. This wasn't an incredible line from Harkless, but if he starts at small forward as expected, he should make for a late-round value pick.

Mon Oct 21 201313:56Moe Harkless grabs four steals vs. Pistons
Moe Harkless had four of Orlando's 16 steals on Sunday, while scoring 11 points and handing out three assists in 21 minutes.
For an idea of Harkless' upside, consider his numbers in 16 games last March-13.1 points on 46.4 percent shooting, 1.2 threes, 5.6 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 0.9 blocks per game. He also shot 57.1 percent from the FT line with just 0.6 assists, however, and he was unable to keep up his torrid pace in April (41.9 percent FGs, including 9.5 percent from downtown). He should have a starting job at SF at least until Glen Davis (foot) returns to action, and makes for an interesting pick in the final rounds.

Mon Sep 16 201319:37Moe Harkless working to expand his game
Moe Harkless spent the summer working on ballhandling and focusing on his shot.
Harkless may spend some time playing shooting guard this season, so improvement to his shot would really. He spent the summer working out with teammates, in an effort to build cohesion between all of the young players on the roster. He is only 20 years old, and the future is bright after he averaged 13.1 points, 4.1 boards and 1.1 steals in his final eight games last year.

Sun Jul 7 201313:42Moe Harkless bulks up, plays well on Sunday
Moe Harkless said that added weight and strength will better enable him to finish around the rim this season.
Improved physicality is great news for the Magic, as Harkless' scoring came primarily at the rim last season. His jump shot is in serious need of improvement, however, since according to HoopData.com he made just 33.3 percent of his shots between 10-15 feet, and an abysmal 13.0 percent from 16-23 feet. He finished Sunday's Summer League game with 15 points, eight boards and one block, and he even knocked down a 3-pointer.

Fri Jul 5 201312:05Moe Harkless looking bigger in practice
Moe Harkless looked "noticeably bigger and the arms and chest" in summer league practice on Friday, according to team beat writer John Denton.
He was fairly thin last year at 6'8", 210 pounds, but his lack of size didn't hinder him from getting to the hoop. Harkless took a whopping 60.3 percent of his field goal attempts at the rim, making 65.2 percent of those short-range shots. Harkless came on very strong at the end of the year and is one of the reasons why the Magic have been reportedly trying to trade Arron Afflalo.

Tue Apr 9 201309:54Moe Harkless dealing with knee tendinitis
Moe Harkless revealed his knee injury was "just tendinitis."
"It was real inflamed," he said. "It's not the first time I've had to play through an injury. I've been playing with a bum ankle for a while." Harkless' will to fight through pain is admirable during his rookie season, and after playing 39 minutes on Sunday, there is no reason to think he's going to sit down any time soon.

Sun Apr 7 201317:30Moe Harkless in the starting lineup vs. CLE
Moe Harkless (knee) is warming up and is in the starting lineup to face the Cavs on Sunday.
He went down in the first half on Friday and did not return. It took the team a while to rule him out during that game, so Harkless could be fairly close to 100 percent in his return today. He has been filling it up all over the place, especially on defense, so he should be in all standard lineups.

Moe Harkless (knee) will be a game-time decision on Sunday.
