Fri May 8 201520:14Aramis Ramirez: Late Scratch Friday
Ramirez was a late scratch for Friday's game against the Cubs, Andrew Gruman of Fox Sports Wisconsin reports.
It's unclear what caused him to be scratched Friday, but Elian Herrera will draw the start instead. The team should provide an update on his status at some point, but consider him day-to-day for now.

Ramirez returned to the lineup on Sunday against the Cubs and went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI and a walk.
Ramirez missed the past two games with tightness in his hamstring, but showed no ill effects in his return. The 36-year-old got off to a slow start to the season, but looks to be heating up as he is now batting .423 with three home runs, eight RBI and five runs scored over his last nine games.
Sun May 3 201511:52Ramirez (hamstring) back in lineup Sunday against Cubs
Ramirez (hamstring) is back in the lineup Sunday against the Cubs.
The hamstring issue kept Ramirez unavailable for the prior two games of the series, with both Luis Jimenez and Hector Gomez receiving starts in his absence. Even when he isn't felled by injuries, Ramirez figures to receive more regular rest than most of the Brewers' other everyday players, which probably makes him a less reliable fantasy option than many of his peers at third base. It hasn't helped matters that Ramirez has gotten off to a rotten start to the season, as he's slashing .214/.236/.357 over 20 games.
Sat May 2 201513:19Ramirez (hamstring) expects to return to lineup Sunday
Ramirez (hamstring) expects to return to the lineup Sunday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
The Brewers are holding Ramirez out again Saturday due a tight left hamstring, but the 36-year-old seems confident he'll miss just the two starts. He is batting .214/.236/.357 so far this season, but Ramirez has hit safely in seven of his last eight games, with two home runs over that span.
Sat May 2 201511:51Aramis Ramirez: (Hamstring) Out Saturday
Ramirez (hamstring) is out of the lineup Saturday against the Cubs.
A bout of left hamstring tightness resulted in Ramirez's scratch from Friday's lineup, and he'll be forced to miss at least one more start due to the ailment. Hector Gomez will get the start at third base, while Ramirez should be considered day-to-day ahead of Sunday's series finale against Chicago.

Ramirez has been scratched from Friday's game against the Cubs with left hamstring tightness.
Scratches like this aren't too surprising for the 36-year-old Ramirez. He'll be replaced by Luis Jimenez for now, and check back Saturday to see if the injury is more of a long-term concern or just a discomfort for a single day.

Ramirez will return to the lineup and bat sixth for the Brewers on Monday.
Ramirez simply received a maintenance day off Sunday as the day game after a night game. Despite his .197/.295/.197 batting line this season, the veteran third baseman has now collected hits in four of his last five games, and will look to add to the stretch Monday.
Sun Apr 26 201511:39Ramirez out of lineup Sunday against Cardinals
Ramirez is out of the lineup Sunday against the Cardinals.
Ramirez will take a seat after starting at the hot corner in four straight games, giving way to Hector Gomez for the afternoon contest. Chalk this up as a regular maintenance day for the 36-year-old.
Thu Apr 23 201517:28Ramirez 1-3 with first homer of year in Thursday's win over Reds
Ramirez went 1-for-3 with his first homer of the year in Thursday's win over the Reds.
Nice to see the bomb from Aramis, who had managed only two extra-base hits in his first 51 at-bats this season, but he's still hitting just .167 with a 0:10 BB:K. He'll turn 37 years old in June and has been declining steadily, so it's not easy to feel much optimism about a sudden resurgence from Ramirez.
Wed Apr 22 201517:02Ramirez in lineup for Wednesday's game against Reds
Ramirez is in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.
Ramirez sat out Tuesday for the second time in three days, but he was able to pinch hit in Tuesday's game, and his inclusion in Wednesday's lineup should calm any concerns of a potential injury. Ramirez, who tallied just his third RBI of the season Tuesday, will play third base and bat sixth Wednesday night.
Tue Apr 21 201517:24Ramirez not in lineup for Tuesday's game against Reds
Ramirez is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Reds.
Ramirez's absence is puzzling given that he just had a day off Sunday, owns a 1.117 career OPS in 27 at-bats against Reds starter Jason Marquis, and would be one of few Brewers regulars in Tuesday's lineup, so it seems possible he is dealing with some unannounced health issue. However, he is still hitting just .130 on the season, so it's possible he is sitting again for performance reasons. Either way, Jason Rogers will man the hot corner for the Brewers on Tuesday night.
Mon Apr 20 201516:11Ramirez will hit sixth in Monday's game against Reds
Ramirez will hit sixth in Monday's game against the Reds.
Ramirez will start Monday after getting a day off Sunday, but he will hit lower in the order than he has in any other game this season. Ramirez owns just a .326 OPS through 11 games this season, so both the Brewers and fantasy owners alike will be hoping the batting order change provides him a spark.
Sun Apr 19 201511:37Ramirez isn't in lineup Sunday against Pirates
Ramirez isn't in the lineup Sunday against the Pirates.
Consider it a day of rest for Ramirez with the Brewers playing a day game after a night game. Given that he's 36 years old and retiring after the season, Ramirez will be afforded more frequent days off than the Brewers' other regulars, providing a built-in downgrade to his counting stats. Of course, he's not exactly delivered quality numbers when he's played this season, going 6-for-43 (.140) at the dish with one run and two RBI. Luis Jimenez will spell him in Sunday's lineup.

Ramirez is hitting 3-of-12 after the Brewers' opening series against Colorado.
Ramirez has been a solid option for years, but his age and the fact that this is his final season creates a fair amount of risk. The 36-year-old could be worth checking up on in the next few weeks, even though Milwaukee doesn't have a ready backup in case he falls off.

Ramirez is 4-for-23 (.174) with two doubles and three RBI through 12 spring games.
Ramirez has yet to get it going with the bat this spring, but he is locked in as the Brewers' starting third baseman as he heads into what is expected to be the final season of his career.
Wed Mar 18 201515:29Ramirez not with team Wednesday as he deals with personal matter
Ramirez was not with the team Wednesday as he deals with a personal matter, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Manager Ron Roenicke indicated that it was not a serious issue, so Ramirez shouldn't be away from the team too long. Consider him day-to-day, but it's possible the 36-year-old will be back in camp as early as Thursday.
Fri Feb 27 201511:41Ramirez has said 2015 will be final season in MLB
Ramirez has said 2015 will be his final season in MLB, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
This will end a sterling career for Ramirez, in which he hit .285/.344/.496 across 17 seasons for the Pirates, Cubs, and Brewers. He's not a hall of famer, but you'd be hard-pressed to find someone that doesn't think Ramirez wasn't an above-average third baseman for the vast majority of his career.

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke suggested Saturday that Ramirez could receive more days off this season, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Ramirez has battled injuries throughout his career and seemed to really wear down at the end of last season, posting a .715 OPS in the second half and a .217/.258/.293 batting line in September. At 36, it's likely best for Ramirez to sit at least once a week or so, though the Brewers don't really have any quality alternatives at third base. Luis Sardinas and Luis Jimenez could be options.
Mon Nov 3 201411:48Ramirez accepted $14 million mutual option with Brewers on Monda...
Ramirez accepted the $14 million mutual option with the Brewers on Monday, Andrew Gruman of Fox Sports Wisconsin reports.
Ramirez's option was picked up by the Brewers on Friday, and he got three days to make his decision whether or not to accept the option. He should again take the majority of the starts at the hot corner for the team in 2015.
Fri Oct 31 201416:47Ramirez's $14 million option exercised by Brewers on Friday
Ramirez's $14 million option was exercised by the Brewers on Friday.
Ramriez's option was mutual, meaning he now has three days to either accept or decline. If he decides to decline, the Brewers could still make a qualifying offer on him for $15.3 million, which could effect his value signing elsewhere.
