Sat Aug 2 201414:40Corey Hart: (Knee) Lands On DL
Hart was placed on the 15-day DL on Saturday with a bruised right knee, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.
Hart's knees have surprisingly held up to this point, but he will require a couple weeks to recover after suffering a contusion. His placement on the DL conveniently opens up a roster spot for James Paxton (back), Saturday's starter against the Orioles, and will allow Kendrys Morales to move back over to DH full-time with Logan Morrison at first. Deadline acquisition Chris Denorfia will take on a regular role in right field.
Fri Jul 4 201421:50Hart has sac fly in return from DL
Corey Hart went 0-for-3 with a sacrifice fly in his return from the disabled list Friday.
Hart's ninth inning sac fly was the M's only offense of the night against Chris Sale. The 32-year-old missed six weeks with a hamstring strain, but the Mariners are hoping he can add some pop to what is a predominantly left-handed lineup.

That power will be dearly missed in the Seattle lineup.

Corey Hart left Sunday's game against the Twins with an apparent hamstring injury.

Thu Apr 17 201410:48Hart in RF for first time with SEA Thursday
Corey Hart is playing right field for the first time with the Mariners Thursday afternoon vs. the Rangers.
Hart missed the entire 2013 season after undergoing dual knee surgeries, so he has been limited to DH duties in his 10 starts so far with Seattle. The 32-year-old has displayed good power in the early going, boasting three home runs in 43 plate appearances.

Fri Mar 28 201417:04Hart (arm, back) to play final spring game
Corey Hart (forearm, back) is scheduled to play in the Mariners' final spring training game on Saturday.
Hart responded well to playing in minor league games Wednesday and Thursday and will play in another one Friday. The fact that he's in line to play a big league game Saturday should rule out any chances that he might need a disabled list stint. That's provided that he doesn't have a setback, of course.

Tue Mar 25 201417:20Hart to play in minors games Wed. and Thurs.
Corey Hart (forearm, back) is scheduled to play in minor league games on Wednesday and Thursday.
Hart is hoping to be over his back tightness and forearm tenderness by the start of the regular season, but he might be ticketed for the 15-day disabled list no matter what. The 32-year-old missed the entire 2013 season and is 5-for-35 (.143) with 18 strikeouts this spring in the Cactus League. The Mariners want to use him as their primary DH and part-time corner outfielder this season.

Sun Mar 23 201412:02Hart to begin season as Seattle's primary DH
Mariners skipper Lloyd McClendon said Corey Hart (forearm, back) will get most of his early-season at-bats at DH.
We can extrapolate a few other projections from this pronouncement: 1.) The odds of a Kendrys Morales return to Seattle appear to be just about zero, 2.) Abraham Almonte should garner the bulk of CF at-bats, with Michael Saunders spelling him, and, 3.) Saunders will join Stefen Romero and Logan Morrison in a free-for-all for RF at-bats. Playing Morrison in the outfield is ill-advised, but roster construction from above really doesn't afford McClendon much choice unless Hart is on the DL or Justin Smoak is benched.

Sun Mar 23 201411:09Hart (forearm, back) remains out of action
Corey Hart (forearm, back) is out of the lineup for the third consecutive day on Sunday.
Hart's body has been subjected to a surgeon's scalpel numerous times in his life, and his surgically-repaired knees need some acclimation time after resting for the duration of the 2013 campaign, but this is discouraging news eight days out from Opening Day. Hart, who signed a one-year, $5 million free agent contract with the Mariners in mid-December, should have an attractive back-date if Seattle decides to begin his season on the DL.
